This hotel is very cheap but a bit nasty. Pros- location is fantastic. Walking distance to Darling Harbour, light rail down the corner and lot of different places to eat locally. Staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to assist us. Room and linen clean. Cons- location is extremely noisy at night, no mattress or pillow protectors... More

I'm not see myself as a fussy traveller, but I felt the need to sign up to leave this review to warn people not to even think about staying here. I know the old saying is that 'you get what you pay for', but this is really the worst place i've ever stayed at. I would put it somewhere below... More

Great service, great location, great modern rooms and décor, right on Darling Harbour close walking distance to everything you need in the Sydney downtown core and all the touristy stuff too. Fast check in, front desk and concierge very helpful to advise on good places to eat and easiest ways to get places. Friday and Saturday nights can be a... More

Booked for a large number of people, and paid for all of them but people were sharing beds and sleeping on the floor. Stains on sheets. Couldn't shower for fear of obtaining a fungal foot infection. Mould on floor and roof. Railing on bunk bed, broke in the middle of the night, and could have caused an accident. Great location... More

Arrived there expecting a standard double room, nothing fancy but basic and tidy as advertised on booking.com. However, had two small single beds instead of double, power points with open wires, a door that didn't lock so complained to the reception. The receptionist was very nice which was the only nice part of the "hotel". He "upgraded" us to a... More

Room had small ensuite, no tv, portable heaters and fans. Beds comfortable and clean. Free wifi was good. Great location close to city and places to eat. Affordable for the budget conscious and if only going to sleep and not spend much time in the room is good value.

Me and my family booked a hotel family room online at Darling Harbour that looked really awesome online. But when we got to the hotel it was extremely horrifying. The room we booked was meant to have a double bed and two single beds and two bunks. The room we were offered when we got there was not what we... More

I stayed here for one night with my nephews. It was the most horrible, un tidy, stinking place ever, with mould over everything!! First we got there they didn't have a room for us after we booked a month in advance. Then the room we did get was nothing compare to what we paid for so we asked for a... More

Thank you so much for my pleasant stay! Sydney Darling Harbour Hotel was in a fantastic location, close to absolutely everything!!! (Sights, Food, Public transport etc...). I found the rooms very comfortable, affordable, clean and tidy! The free WiFi for guests was a bonus and the staff were incredibly polite and very accommodating. Thank you again.

The hotel is in an immaculate location but THE HOTEL HAS NO LIFT AND THEIR WEBSITE WILL NOT TELL YOU THAT! THE TOILETS ARE FILTHY AND EVEN THE WORKERS THERE HAVE SAID THAT ALL THE OWNER WANTS TO DO IS MAKE MONEY!! THE OWNER IS ABSOLUTELY INCONSIDERATE TO HIS CUSTOMERS: my 70 year old aunts were given a room on... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighborhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theater, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
