Old building but new hotel so we booked just to know how good it was, but disappointed, reception was helpful, basic things in the room, but when it comes to the bed it was a nightmare, looks like it was 2 singles put together to have a double but unfortunately the middle of the bed is so hard on my... As many other reviews have noted, the rooms are indeed very small. However, it is a generally nice hotel, next door to many eateries and bars in Surry Hills and you get a gym card for the 24/7 gym across the road. Also close to transport.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a trip to Sydney. I think it represented really good value (for Sydney). Our room was compact but more than enough space if you aren't planning to spend much time in it. The hotel generally was very clean and the staff were extremely helpful. It's in a good location for visiting the central... More

It all began when we first arrived and said hello to the concierge (who we later found out was inappropriately named Joy). Joy did not say hello back to us, she instead told us to have our credit card ready. The next day we were all desperate for a drink of water, we would have drank the water from the... More

The hotel is relatively central, close to Central Station, 20 minutes walking to Sydney CBD, at least 10 minutes from the first decent restaurant (I do not consider all the China-Thai, Singapore, Viet etc restaurants in the area). Very small rooms are the biggest defect of the Hotel. Free Wi-Fi connection, not well functioning: most time of the day the... More

Fairly ordinary hotel with extremely small rooms (and I'm not even talking about the shoebox here, hate to think how small one of them is). A rather slap-dash renovation, if indeed a renovation actually has taken place?? A lick of paint and new duvet covers does not constitute a renovation in my mind. Broken shower screen, musty mouldy smells emanating... More

This hotel, while newly refurbished and very clean, has the smallest rooms that I have ever stayed in at premium prices. I should have known better in Sydney. The photos make the rooms look larger. We stayed there for one night prior to embarking on our cruise, there was no where to sit other than the bed, could not swing... More

Stayed here a couple of nights. It was a very good location, clean, friendly, good value for money. Nothing fancy, old hotel that's has been done up but as we were spending our time sightseeing we just wanted a safe clean place within easy reach of everything which this place suited perfectly. We would stay again. Nothing was too much... More

This hotel was ok as I was out most of the day. My room was very crampt and could only open my case out on my bed. Creaky floor boards, thin walls and very frustratingly poor wifi means I wouldn't choose to stay here again. However saying that, was eventually quiet on a night so got good nights sleep, a... More

I booked this hotel many months ago and trusted the photos that depicted the rooms at this hotel. Boy, did I get a shock. The room I was assigned had to be the smallest hotel room I have ever resided in. It was small than an inside cabin on a cruise ship. Less than than 150 sq.ft. Barely any room... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
