I arrived at 1:15pm and was told to come back at 2pm.. This got me off on the wrong foot as I'd just flown in from melbourne to a super hot sydney day and just wanted to get changed. Anyway- the looked after my bags well, and got checked in at 2pm without an issue. Lady that checked me in...

Booked this hotel on a Thursday night as I needed a room where my mates and I could crash after a long day watching the test cricket. We weren't sure where the reception was and it was awkward checking in at the bar around 7pm when it was busy, but the bar girl was very lovely and efficient. Our room...

Basic room, quite small and dark but clean. Reception non existent so if you arrive when attached bar is closed you've no chance of getting in. Came to the rescue of 4 sets of travellers who'd booked and couldn't gain entry as 'reception' closed. Close to all touristy things and safe area. Would probably go back if I had a...

First of all, I can't believe people writing reviews are bagging out the manual doors on the elevator! I thought they were great. Took me back in time. For this price, in this location you can't expect the room to be top quality. First the bad things that may bother the "fussy" traveller. The fridge wasn't turned on, the shelf...

I've read previous reviews about this hotel, and honestly, it's no wonder why some don't rely on reviews. The Grand does not pretend to be anything it's not. Objectively, I'll continue. Sydney CBD is not a place to drive and expect to park your car at the door of your accommodation.... Unless you pay a parking station. I have traveled...

This pub is excellent value for money. The place is clean, safe, no frills, and easy accessible to transport. It has the basics as in TV in room, fridge, hand basin, fans, kettle, etc. the showers and bath and toilets are across the hall (as most old pub rooms were built this way, and the breakfast room is self serve...

Traveling solo and wanted somewhere close to major attractions without the hefty price tag on a Saturday Night. The Grand ticked all the boxes, single room, good value and included breakfast. Don't stay here if you like the extras a hotel provides, it's basic. The good points - clean, cheap, TV, sink and fridge in room and it was friendly...

Offers great value for money! The rooms are newly renovated, fresh paint, new furniture, comfy beds and very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful, making you feel very welcome. Great spot to have a drink before heading out. The location is perfect as its central to a lot of popular restaurants and bars.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
