Extremely small rooms, feel like a prison. No air conditioner, only a fan that sucks. The staff is a bit weird, not very willing to help. Good wifi but to an extra cost. The people were kinda boring. We would not stay here again.

Within walking distance to Hyde Park and Darling Harbour. The staff are welcoming and nice. The hallway and some rooms have a damp smell but you get used to it; just turn on the ceiling fan 😁. It's ok if you're just visiting and wouldn't stay for a long time. WiFi is not free.

The location is great and the staff is helpful and friendly. The room was unfortunately smelly and there was no air con so it was pretty sweaty and hot at times. But the shower was good. Would not go there again and can't recommend it but the location is perfect.

This hostel is in a great location regarding the city centre; it is less than 10 minutes walk from Central Station and pretty much in the city centre. The kitchen space is really big with about 20 gas hobs which is useful. However, the rooms don't have air con which makes it incredibly hot and stuffy sleeping at night, especially...

I stayed here for 1 week at the beginning of this month in a twin room along with my friend. The rooms are like prison cells!! No air con throughout the entire hostel. There was a fan in the top corner of the room instead, which only (slightly!) benefitted the person sleeping on the top bunk. I was on the...

After reading the reviews I was a bit worried about this hostel especially as I was there over the Xmas period but turns out it's pretty good. The only issue is there was no air con so can get very hot in rooms if you don't leave the windows open. Sucks considering reception is always blasting air con out. Our...

One of the nicest backpackers I've stayed in with a good balance between clean, up to date facilities and down-at-heel-charm which comes from it being in an old hotel. Located just up the street within a two minute walking distance from Sydney Central Train Station which makes it convenient for those arriving into Sydney by plane, just hop on the...

A fantastic stay at the maze backpacker hostel. I cannot praise them enough. Firstly, Holly and Nick who are behind reception gave me a cheap rate over Christmas which financially helped me a great deal. Holly even lent me a charger when my charger broke which was lucky. Their fellow colleagues behind reception were always in a great mood which...

IN GENERAL Reception staff were nice and solved the problem with our private room quickly and with no hassle. The location is also very good, close to Coles and the CBD. There were also free meals available twice a week with pancakes on Sundays. The place also felt secure, with a security guard and key cards in place to deter...

I walked in genuinely excited, great reception, rapid AC and a warm welcome. Now for the record, I have "roughed it" many a time over the years. As it was the new year period the hostel insisted on a 10 night minimum stay, I can understand that, it's a business after all but equally frustrating. The kitchen areas are brilliant...
