Good location and very good to meet new people. The breakfast was nice and the girls in charge were always sure that we have plenty of food. convenient, but the room was so dark, with only as small window and bad ventilation so was always smelly AND we saw a huge rat!! we're on tv room just chilling and we... Pretty standard 10-bed room, although surprisingly comfortable mattresses. Very friendly staff, especially the guy with the dreads! Location was great, close to Kings Cross train station and also a reasonable walk to Circular Quay/Hyde Park. The neighborhood it's in isn't exactly the nicest, but it's a good place for a backpacker's hostel and not unsafe. Also had free breakfast every... More

I stayed for my last night in Sydney and it was the best hostel I have stayed in so far. Rooms are clean and comfortable, there is free wi-fi and the price includes breakfast in the morning. A bit out of the way from city centre but it is very close to Kings Cross station if you cant be bothered... More

The hostel is cheap and in a central location. The free breakfast is very good (the best thing about the hostel actually). If you stay 4 nights or more, they pay for the airport transfer to the hostel so good deal. I stayed in the female dorm. Small and crammed but clean. The bathroom was not always clean. The staff... This is a fairly cheap hostel, compared to a lot in Sydney, and perfectly adequate for the backpacker lifestyle! The rooms and bathrooms were kept clean, showers were good! During our stay, the breakfast was moved from within the hostel, to Mad Monkey's next door. This is a massive improvement, Mad Monkeys breakfast was amazing! With the choice of toast... More

First time in Australia spent my first 10 days here and it was awesome. The staff are so genuine, friendly and helpful. They include everyone and make sure everyone's having fun. Beer pong tournaments are organized on Friday nights which helped us meet people right away. They give free barbecue, taco night, free pizza and pancakes! Met so many great... More

I stayed there for only one night and it was more then enough. There's no elevator, only stairs, the room wasn't really clean and the toilets were dirty! If you arrive there after check in hours, there's a person that can check you in, but you have to be lucky for someone to leave the hostel, otherwise you can only... More

The room was to small for the number of beds. Impossible to walk through because when lockers are open, doors block the path. However, excellent mattress and pillow. There is no windows in living rooms, and it was impossible to open the windows in my room, so it stink in the whole building. Good location but in a weird suburb... More

I stayed here for one night and it was pretty good I guess! I did get my room upgraded though to a 6 dorm for females so that was pretty good! The guy at the desk who had dreads was pretty nice and cool! He gave me some pretty good recommendations when I had ask him about good spots for... More

Staying in Kings Cross

Neighborhood Profile
Kings Cross
Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
