Overall my time spent at the Amora Hotel Jamison was a pleasant experience, until it came to asking whether the hotel would be able to dry clean a couple of suits of mine. Never have I had a 5 star hotel in a business district return 'dry-cleaned' suits to the customer in a bin bag, unfolded and looking worse than when I initially handed them in for the clean. On further inspection it was clear that the suits hadn't been dry-cleaned at all, but put on a hot wash and then tumble dried. This was evidenced by how the woollen suit was now totally unwearable and ruined due to the fact it had significantly shrunk and the lining inside felt almost burnt and crispy. What I find the most irritating, and disrespectful is how the hotel have completely ignored all emails sent (together with photographic evidence) and phone calls and it's reached a point that unfortunately I have to leave negative reviews online. I've had zero communication from the hotel, despite repeated requests, and not even 1 written acknowledgment or apology. The receptionist just tells me that she's spoken to the manager again who will call me later that day. This however goes ignored. Terribly disappointed and unless I hear anything from the hotel asap then i'll definitely never stay there again.…
clean and tidy, quiet, generous size rooms. friendly service. Difficult to navigate parking - staff confused how parking works, very expensive to park. the parking was so full people were parking on the ramps and blocking them. Rooms service 'lost' my order one night, but it was otherwise reliable and certainly very good food. Happy hour in the bar was dissappointing - very minimal selection of drinks.
Reason for only an average score is the first impression as well as the noise from the construction nearby. It is centrally located and depends which side you stayed in. You get a view mostly. The side I am staying are facing the construction (which you can see in the last picture). I can hear the clinging of metals. The first impression wasn't that great was when I asked for a toothbrush and the answer was they are too busy and will probably pass it the next day. Pretty surprised by the response, though in the end, when I was almost heading to bed they knocked on the door and deliver the toothbrush. Also the TV does not seems to have casting options from the phone. No Netflix options on TV.
this place is not what it used to be. We were disappointed because we expected more. Smells musky, bathroom was dirty, wall near the toilet was stained with urine, breakfast was limited and pastries were stale.
My partner myself & another couple booked to stay at Amora Jamison in May following a cruise,we booked through Expedia. Two weeks ago our cruise & flights were cancelled because of Covid 19,after multiple calls to Expedia & receiving the same answer(call only if you are travelling in the next 72 hours) I contacted Amora Jamison who cancelled our booking & emailed Expedia to reimburse us.When we do get to Sydney eventually will definitely be staying at Amora Jamison
