On our arrival at Forsyth B & B we were stunned to see what a beautiful place it was. We were warmly greeted by our host, Gary de Garis who then proceeded to make our overnight pre cruise stay totally memorable. The breakfast provided was amazing, fresh fruit, homemade muffins and muesli, fresh brewed coffee and hot breakfast made to...

My boyfriend and I stayed for 9 nights during a conference at the University of Sydney with a few days added either side of the conference for exploring the city and surrounding area. We stayed for the first 6 nights in the Rozelle room (the larger of the two with views out to the city) and the remaining 3 nights...

We stayed (2 couples) with Gary in December and had a delightful time. He is a wonderful and accommodating host and had great suggestions for our time in Sydney, directions on the best way to move around the city, and first-rate restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was delightful and we loved waking up with the birds in the trees just outside our...

This is our third stay at Forsyth and we have already booked our visit for next year. I enjoy the conversation with Gazza (Gary) over breakfast each morning. We discuss lots of things such as politics, food and travel and I always learn something new. He makes a good coffee and cooks a delicious breakfast each morning. He knows me...

We stayed with Gary and Julie for 6 nights and would wholeheartedly recommend Forsyth Bed & Breakfast. Our suite was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, Gary caters to everyone's tastes and preferences. Gary and Julie go above and beyond, whether it's advise on where to eat, how to navigate the city, or things to see and...

I had two short stays at Forsyth BnB during my trip to Australia. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great. The location in Glebe was perfect - close enough to walk to to Darling Harbour but far enough away to be quiet and relaxed. Gary was a great host - very helpful. I hope...

Our second stay with Gary and Julie for a weekend in Sydney was welcoming, relaxing, quiet and Gary's breakfasts tasty and thoughtfully generous. this couple really do nail the right balance as hosts of an intimate B&B and the location is ideal being close proximity to the city centre. The suburb of Glebe has a wealth of eateries (Gary and...

My wife and I had a wonderful five (5) night stay at this B&B in the community of Glebe, an Urban burb of Sydney. Gary and Julie de Garis are gracious hosts with much good advice on what to see, where to eat and how to get there. Their home is a calm oasis their guest can come home to...

I thoroughly recommend this excellent B&B in Glebe. This is my second stay, and I will certainly stay on future visits to Sydney - but book well in advance, Gary books up early. The rooms are spacious and well appointed (there are only two, so this is a quiet and individual place). Gary is a superb host, offering fabulous home-made...

Staying in Glebe

Neighborhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
