Base in Sydney is an amazing hostel located right in the CBD where price and service are matching. The rooms are really big, the beds very comfortable and there are draws to lock for every guest in the room. The whole hostel is really clean. That's my second stay at Base and i'd always stay there again.

Let me start by pointing on the good things about this hostel. -Great location Now that's out of the way let's move onto the nitty gritty. From the start: I booked three weeks early to stay over new year period, I was informed I would have to book 10 days total. Cost was $64 a night for a 10 bed...

Myself and a friend stayed here for 2 weeks as we got very comfortable here. We met some really nice people and found all the facilities at Base really clean and nice. The reason for leaving was we found it quite expensive for what it is and looked for our own apartment. Even though it is linked to Scary Canary's...

There was an alcoholic guest in the room who keeps drinking Vodka and Whisky all day long.Apart from drinking, she started to dance around and disturbed other guests with her loud music and screams. All the guests in the room felt unsafe surrounding with her and thus we report the situation to the staff at reception. Niki was there and she...

Sydney was my first stop on my travels up the east coast. I am travelling alone for the first time. As a solo traveller, I wouldn't stay at the Base Sydney again as I found it is not an easy place to meet people unless they are in your dorm. Ground floor lift button was broken, meaning I had to...

Miles & Co. in the Galleries Victoria is a great place to stop for a quick breakfast. Very clean, comfortable, recently renovated. Coffee is good and so is the food. Only downer is the construction noise from George street above. Try it out :)

Booked a private room for 1 night before flying out of Sydney. Massive room with massive bed, bathroom and TV! (and a full length mirror!!!) Plenty of space to put all of my belongings ready for my early start the next day! Friendly and helpful staff and hostel also featured huge kitchen and loads of washer/dryers so I could have...

I booked the double private room but the toilet was shared . Hussle as to enter the room / shower/toilet with the card key . The room hallway is not luggage friendly as there are lots of small stairways to reach my room . I like the comfy beds and the street view . Check out time was at 10...

Booked to stay in this hostel for 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year period and checked out 5 days early. It's a party hostel with lots of people living there for work so most people keep themselves to themselves. Was in a 8 bed dorm and not one single person could talk much English. The staff messed up and thought I...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
