Staying at rydges sydney central. It's a good location just a short walk away from the central station. It's very clean. We have been in 2 rooms and both were excellent size. (They moved us because they thought AC would be out in first room due to construction) everything is modern and updated. The stay is very receptive to our...

No one to help with our bags on arrival or departure and one of us has a disability. Room and bathroom lighting needs to be improved greatly. Pool was not to the temperature that it was suppose to be either was the spa both cold. Food in restuarant was good.

Room was large and clean and obviously someone thought the somewhat unusual decor gave a Surrey Hills hotel an trendy industrial feel. Ah, not really, the room felt thrown toghethe, cold and... well, cold. Glass desk just simply unattractive. Everything looked plonked in. No skirting boards added to plonked together feel. The bathroom in a large room should have been...

We have stayed at this Hotel many times over the past near 30 years and never once had a complaint - even though it has changed Owners and Names several times! The Staff are always accommodating and eager to please. The Rooms are always clean and well serviced - as are the Hotel facilities, Restaurants and Bar. Yes, we have...

Hotel is situated close to Central Rail station, Capital Theatre and China Town. Very friendly and helpful staff, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel is undergoing reovations but the noise is only during daytime hours which did not disturb us as our room was away from the work. Breakfast was overpriced and average and the decor was tired...

The hotel did not forewarn it was being refurbished when we booked. When we arrived there was a notice board apologising for the inconvenience and stating that noise would be restricted 09:00-17:30 Mon-Friday. Sunday was fine however, as forewarned, it all kicked off on Monday morning. The noise in the room was intolerable from 09:00-12:00 - I was trying to...

By the name Rydges, one expects good quality rooms, but all we came across were outdated rooms which werent cleaned for days as there was a layer of dust on almost all the furnitures. The hotel rooms seriously need an upgrade and yet again, like what we experience in another Rydges hotel, the AC wasnt working.

Hi Rangoli V, and thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. I am very sorry to hear your experience was not up to standard, in particular your comments about our cleaning. I am happy to report that we are in the middle of refurbishing all our rooms, included improved air conditioning controller to reduce any possible issues...

We picked this hotel as I have a loyalty card with them. It paid off as the room went from over $220 down to $158 per night. The hotel has a fast check in and out service. Made this nice and quick Kids loved the pool and spa. Breakfast was nice.

Reception staff are helpful. Rooms are clean. We originally got a room on the 4th floor. Unbearable due to construction noise. Moved to 10th floor ... much more quiet. Had to call mtnce to get our TV to work, our fridge to work and to change a/c. Location is about 15 mins walk to CBD. Checked out and found out...

Staying in Surry Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Surry Hills
Once regarded as the traditional fashion area, Surry Hills has broadened its appeal. This neighborhood continues to distinguish itself as a shopping destination, offering the best collection of one-of-a-kind boutiques, designer brands and flagship stores in the city. Today, this area has evolved into a hub of media, design and professional services - a colorful and diverse place equally known for its antique dealers, art galleries, cafes and pubs. Strolling down the street on a Saturday morning, you’ll see a mix of students, artists, hipsters and a few all-nighters from Oxford Street, the “Gay Capital of Sydney”. In this vibrant neighborhood you will find bohemian chic and modern style co-existing side by side.
