Staff were friendly. Rates very affordable. Room was clean and included TV, fridge, heater, kettle, tea/coffee,table and chairs. Shared bathroom and toilet facilities which were clean and modern. Excellent value for money.

We stayed there because it's close to Darling Harbour & other attractions, but doesn't cost as much as other hotels. We stayed on the ground floor with a fairly new bathroom. The rest of the room had dated but clean furniture. But if it was modern then the price would reflect that! The staff on the front desk was pleasant & helpful. We had an enjoyable stay.

I have stayed at the Woolbrokers many times over the past 2 decades & I'm finding the condition of the rooms & customer service deteriorating! Our last visit was in June 2019 for 2 nights in a quad room.. 1 Q/S bed & 1 x bunks.. no room to place your luggage, not even anywhere to hang your clothes.. The towels had holes in them, lampshade was broken, the QS bed was so uneven (2 singles pushed together) we had to stop ourselves from rolling out. We went down for breakfast Saturday morning only to be told ‘that the kitchen was having maintenance issues’ - no breakfast (this happened last time we stayed as well 🤔) When we were departing I spoke to reception (different person from the Saturday) regarding the wonky QS mattress, state of the linen & condition of the room. Also how we where not informed when we checked in that breakfast would not be available - the receptionist had no idea what we were talking about as he said the kitchen was not having any maintenance issues & should of been open.. Regarding the bed, linen etc - he said this would be fixed & I would receive a call back.. Well nearly 3 months on & I haven’t heard a single word from The Woolbrokers.

If you like buildings with character and history you will really enjoy this rare old beauty. Being on Darling Harbour, it is surrounded by the modern glass and concrete hotels that cost significantly more. I opted for the double room with ensuite The sweeping high ceilings kept the small room from feeling confining. Clean, sweet and basic. The hotel is amazingly situated, with the ICC, shopping and restaurants all in easy walking distance. Public transport/trains a four minute walk, and will get you just about anywhere. Parking is across the street from hotel. The staff show a love for the hotel and its history, and make the effort to know each customer by name. I stayed for three nights to attend a conference at the ICC and felt right at home.

It is a budget hotel without any comfort to be expected. Friendly staff and good location. Beds are very uncomfortable, we had a double bed which ended up to be to single beds together. Bathroom didn’t have enough toilet paper and hot water took very long to get hot.
