This beautiful, historic hotel served me one of my worst meals EVER! The lamb ribs were black and leathery. When the server asked how was your meal, I replied "if you like burnt lamb ribs, it was great". He replied "sorry" and we never saw him again. My wife had the John Dory - fresh catch of the day -... I originally went to The Lord Nelson pub for a quick pint as I'd stayed here many years ago, I ended up going there 3 nights in a row. The beer is great, especially the Hop Cannon and the Monday night pie and mash night had me staying on and making a night of it. Great friendly bar staff, good... More

We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed the property. The pub has a great atmosphere and historic memorabilia. The rooms are above the pub, but we did not hear any noise from downstairs. We had room 202 (the front corner room) and it was great. Lots of windows and a great view. The staff were very nice. Breakfast is... More

Great atmosphere with the internal walls showing heritage memorabilia and stone work from the convicts! Good looked excellent, excellent variety of hand made beers on the premises! Cozy and oozing charm! On a warm night, you can even sit outside!

A friend recommended we stay here for our long weekend in Sydney and we were not disappointed. This old Brewery / Pub / Hotel is a wonderful gem to come across, very comfortable and charming. We did notice it was very popular and bustling around happy hour like most other pubs in the area, but you could not hear anything... More

Booked table for four prior to Faulty Towers show nearby Pub on Friday evening really busy as we walked through on our way to restaurant upstairs. Very few choices of reasonably priced wine on menu, had to drink something different to normal because they had no Moscato!! Small menu but not a bad thing usually. In the end we ordered... More

Most of the reviews here are for the pub & restaurant rather than the B&B & the booking process has been mentioned which made me a bit wary. I am looking for a new 'Home from Home' in Sydney as our usual hotel is closing down. I liked the sound of a small place & certainly the price was appealing... More

We visited on a Tuesday evening and found it busy but we managed to get a table. By chance it was curry night and the food was excellent, washed down with a pint of 3 sheets beer. There are interesting pictures and historical information on the walls.

One of Sydney's oldest hotels and a very popular meeting and drinking place. They have a whole range of craft beers. We called in for a drink on a Friday evening around 6pm and the place was rammed. I last visited 12 years before and it had not changed much. Although they had loads of beers, I could not find... More

They brew their own beers and I loved the old admiral dark ale. We had lunch whilst there and it was cheap fast and very tasty. Place fills up quickly so booking is a good idea or get there early. We walked there from the rocks as its only 800 metres away and it was a nice walk with some... More
