I decided to stay in the Jolly Swagman because of the weekly price of 25$/night. I booked for 30 nights. I arrived at 12 midday so I knew that I would probably have to wait until I can check in at 2pm. But I expected that I could leave my backpack in a luggage room or so. There is none....

This was the first time ever I had stayed in a backpackers and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The rooms were clean and had everything that was needed. There were shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen and communal area. Everything was clean and people did clear up after themselves. Granted there were roaches around, but come on where doesn't have...

The hostel is simple, but clean, especially the rooms. It's in a very convenient location, near a tube station (Kings Cross) and close to the city center (20/30 minutes walk to the Opera House). It could use a couple more bathrooms.

Stayed in this hostel for 6 nights. It's at a great location, close to the train, but walking to the CBD is no problem too. The staff was really friendly and nice. Overall the hostel was okay. Especially looking at the price I've paid. Relatively cheap for a hostel in Sydney. Could be a little cleaner thou. The showers/toilets were...

I did not have the best experience here. But, I will say that for the most part the staff were VERY friendly and were always available if you needed assistance! What I did not like was this: - Within the first hour of checking in my friends and I saw 6 cockroaches (EW) and they were crawling on beds... -...

The rooms as well but it kinda smelled like feet (or maybe that was just the people with me?? lol!)There were lockers in the room which was very good. Breakfast was free and they had cheap or free offered activities. The staff were very...

I stayed here for 5 nights and it was alright. Toilets and showers seemed not always clean, but I think they clean them everyday (some people just leave their trash everywhere). There were lockers in the room which was very good but downstairs as well. Breakfast was free (Toast or Cereals) and they offered activities (nights out, movie nights &...

I am aware with this type of travelling so only packed necessary items for my stay here, it is close to the entertainment...

Not much positive to say about the hostel other then the location. It was only a couple of minutes walk to the tube and main street in Kings Cross. Now for the not so good stuff. I stayed in a double room which was ok size. It was very hot as there was only a small fan on the wall....

Good atmosphere. Staff lay on lots of activities and we particularly liked the fish and chip supper evening on Wednesday - for A$5 you could not do better anywhere in Sydney. The facilities are good and the hostel is clean and well run. There is a 24 hour reception so you really can book in and out whenever you need...
