Room is but has everything you need. Clean & tidy. It's a historic hotel but absolutely lovely. Lots of character. Friendly staff and check in was quick. Right in the heart of Sydney, recommended for leisure or business.

As other reviewers have noted the location cannot be faulted but there it ends for me. Apart from one pleasant and helpful young man at Reception, the other older staff were nothing short of rude and unwelcoming. We could hardly believe the reception we received when I checked in and were tempted to say forget it and go elsewhere but... More

Didn't realise this was the Freemason club... Would not have stayed here if known... Nothing personal, just not my thing. Musty smell, tiny rooms, off service... Just not a fan... Good location, but other hotels in same area would have been a better choice for us

Incredible place in the middle of Sydney. We had a fortune to spend few nights in this fantastic Hotel during our honeymoon trip to Australia. Location is a great plus, close to shops, Darling Harbour and Circular Quay only 15 minutes by foot. Hotel is an incredible and unusual place that combines the modernism of the 21st century and the... More

I stayed at the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel for two nights. The location is hard to beat, as it is in the heart of the city with restaurants, shopping, theatres, train stations and movies all right there. Of particular note, just a one minute walk to Gloria Jean's or Westfield Sydney, and about a three minute walk to Jamie's Italian. The... More

Booked by a friend and we were very happy with our accommodation, although the room they were in was tight and less than acceptable. We stayed in a twin room on the 7th floor and had a generous amount of room. The beds were very comfortable (although in typical form, the pillows were shapeless, flat and pretty awful) and decorated as... More

An older hotel in such an excellent location of the city with such old fashioned comfort. As a Masons hotel we were lucky enough to be there when a meeting was about to be held and so we witnessed their authentic dress. The fittings were superb and the breakfast was a breath of old fashioned hospitality. Highly recommend for location... More

In all my years of travelling and staying in different hotels worldwide I have never ever come across such a rude, unhelpful manager as I encountered with Mr Lopez. It put a dark cloud on what was to be a happy family trip. This hotel although clean had a very depressing atmosphere which I blame on the staff. On return... More

We took advantage of an online voucher offer for a two night special deal. The hotel is delightful, a great location and it has a lovely entrance and bar. However the double room is tiny. Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
