I decided to make the reservation at Westin because of the perfect location and that I am an SPG member so I had a special rate - otherwise I would probably prefer something of less price, frankly. But when I got there, the hotel reminded me why I almost always ended up with Westin. The building was the old GPO...

huge hotel in Sydney's city center! incalculable number or rooms, big rooms, with nice window pane wich divides bathroom and sleeping room (first time that I personally saw a solution like that). Not far from opera house bay (5' walking). Personnel a little bit too "cold" (to many people may be) and breakfast "hall" is a small bar in the...

The overall feel of the hotel is like the hotel from The Shining. There was a plumbing problem and I had to keep the bathroom door shut. Further, there was construction right in front of my window that lasted from 6AM until 9PM all three days. Also, there was loud music on top of it from a basque player with...

Speedy check in on arrival on the Friday by a fellow Welsh compatriot (sincere apologies, forgot his name but he was from Trearddur Bay in North Wales); he was very engaging and professional, lovely welcome and a great first impression of The Westin. Room was clean, well appointed with a big comfortable bed and soft plush pillows ensured a good...

The Westin Sydney is very conveniently located, within walking distance of multiple attractions, including the water, several restaurants, shopping centers and even a stop for the hop on, hop off tour bus, which connects to the Bondi Beach line. The accommodations and the service are what you should expect of a Westin hotel, but the rooms and bathrooms are large...

This is a fine location. Over the last 15 years it has been a good place to stay. The rooms are getting a bit tired. The breakfast restaurant Mosaic, could do with a better variety. However the location is so good that there are a lot of places around the hotel. Parking can be in excess of $60. Great Wi-Fi...

This is a great hotel on Pitt street a block away from shops and restaurants. The hotel has both heritage rooms in the old post office section and new tower rooms. The hotel is fairly new and modern. Rooms are trendy. Since its new and at a good location, it is quite expensive. Only downside is that they do not...

My favourite hotel in Sydney. Always welcoming and well organized. A great place for a short or long stay with all facilities and excellent customer service. The beds are the best of any of the hotels I stay in.

Centrally located, beautiful property. The rooms are clean and spacious and are being serviced and restocked daily. The front desk staff are very helpful even though overwhelmed at times. The Westin Club lounge enjoys fantastic views over Sydney and the staff are truly excellent. The lobby can be extremely busy with bus loads of tourists checking in and out. Admittedly,...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
