    Fantastic service and accommodation
This hotel is a wonderful secret. Not a big impressive entrance on Macquarie Street, but the foyer overlooks Circular Quay, as do the restaurant and bar. The rooms are spacious - more like a 1-bedroom unit than a hotel suite - everything you could want in a fully functional kitchen, even a washing machine and dryer. A spacious bathroom and bedroom and a sofa bed for the extra guest. The bathroom opens off the hallway and can be easily accessed by the extra guest as well as those in the main bedroom. Plenty of cupboard space. The service is impeccably caring and polite; the attitude of staff could not be faulted. This is a unique and lovely place to stay in Sydney.
Dear brockie14, Thank you so much for your review! What a pleasure to read how much you enjoyed your stay with us thanks to our room and view but also the service offered by our staff. We loved how you described our "secret" hotel and it actually makes sense. We see it everyday with guests asking where Hyde Hacienda is, our bar. We all hope to see you again for your next visit in the city and wish you a Happy New Year! Kind Regards,

    Unbelievable location and service
We had an amazing experience from when the Manager greeted us as we drove up and took our car to park. The reception greeted us with smiles and professional service together with the concierge who gave us valuable advice and offered to do anything to make out stay wonderful. He managed to get us a restaurant reservation, even after we had been advised the restaurant was fully booked !! At all times we felt like we belonged at the hotel and we came away feeling rested and happy. We booked room 413 on the 1st floor overlooking the simply gorgeous Royal Botanic Gardens and as we faced East we enjoyed the morning sun shining through the trees which was so uplifting even before we got out of bed. at night the gardens are flood lit, so it is another beautiful vision from this side of the hotel on the lower floor. The other side faces West which is hot in summer, but there are water views and views of the Bridge if that is the preference of anyone. The location is only a few steps from the Opera House.........Circular Quay with ferries, trains and buses to take you anywhere in Sydney, including the Harbour, the beaches and uptown to shop. Some of the best restaurants are only a short walk from the hotel, so it is seriously the best location in Sydney for visitors and business visitors as well.
Dear 194gloriac, We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay at the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour. It is always a pleasure to receive positive feedback as a team, we continuously work on maintaining our standard of service to ensure each and every experience is a memorable one. It is something we constantly work towards and your feedback serves as a wonderful encouragement to the staff. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another memorable experience. Kind regards, Steve Savic General Manger

    Great location
We upgraded to a harbour view room and it was well worth it! The suite was huge! Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and the location was great - within walking distance of the big bus stop, the opera house & circular quay. The only down sides were dodgy WiFi (helpfully sorted by staff by adding a dongle on day 2) and dated decor. But would definitely recommend
Dear jon755, Thank you for your nice review! What a pleasure to read how much you enjoyed the suite and location. We will definitely share your feedback with the rest of the team. We are glad the view over the Harbour did not disappoint you! Regarding the down sides as you might have read the refurbishment works should start in a couple of months! The WiFi network will be replaced during that time. We all hope to see you again for another memorable stay! The Pullman Team

We booked 4 nights at short notice after my wife had been hospitalised, and needed accommodation for a few days before she could fly home. We needed a sunny apartment with cooking and laundry facilities, and a pleasant outlook. We hit the jackpot! Our unit was on the 6th floor, facing the harbour, directly above the ferry wharves at Circular Quay. Always something to look at while my wife recuperated, although whisper quiet. Recommend including the breakfast (a la carte) in your package.

We had to wait three hours for 'champagne on arrival' after asking twice for it. On the third day (today 6.9.2023) we left our room at 10am placing the please service sign on the door. We returned to the motel at approximately 2.30pm to discover the room had not been serviced. I phoned housekeeping, no answer, so I phoned the duty manager and was told she would organise it now. Half an hour later, no one had attended. I went to a room that had 3 people cleaning it and asked for the room to be serviced. Not at all good enough for the price we paid. The view is spectacular but the service is rubbish.

I recently stayed at the Quay Grand Sydney Hotel and was disappointed with my experience. While the decor and general maintenance of the hotel remain the same as they were 23 years ago, there were several issues that marred our stay. One of the toilets in our room appeared to have yellow urine stains on the seat. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be yellow dried bubble stains, which still raised concerns about cleanliness. We decided to order breakfast through room service and called an hour later to check on the status of our order. We were told it would be with us soon. However, after waiting for 1.5 hours, we called again, and they claimed it was only 5-10 minutes away. This delay was frustrating, especially on Father's Day. Close to two hours later, we received a call saying there was a problem with the system, and they asked if we still wanted the breakfast. Unfortunately, we had no more time left as we had to rush to the airport. When we brought up our concerns with the front desk reception, their excuse was that they were busy with Father's Day. In my opinion, a 5-star hotel should have anticipated increased demand on special occasions and ensured adequate staffing. This experience left a sour taste in our mouths, considering the high cost of staying here. Regrettably, I cannot recommend the Quay Grand Sydney Hotel based on my recent visit. We won't be returning, and we will make sure to share our disappointing experience with our friends to prevent them from facing similar frustrations.

Tried the Pullman after a stay at the Shangri-La previous week ( our usual place of choose ). The Pullman is now our go to for Sydney trips as the overall experience was fantastic. It may not have the finesse of the parking ( we pre booked opera house car oark) but for location and room was 5 star in our opinion. Location is fantastic with short walk to train etc.

Our stay was wonderful. First, the “garden” in the “garden view room” was the Sydney Royal Botanical Garden, so that was amazing. On top of that, we could see the Sydney Opera House. The view was exceptional. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, and the restaurant was excellent for breakfast. We used the pool, and my 5 year old loved it. The location is excellent; you’re within walking distance of a number of attractions in Sydney, and right by public transit to get to even more. My only quibble, and it is a very minor one, is that some of the furniture and cabinetry seemed to be showing their age in the room. But as I said, that is a minor quibble in what was a fantastic stay at a fantastic hotel.

I visited this hotel on a family trip with my 3 year old baby, and they gave me a room (room 607) that was not heated from the start. I complained about this but the hotel staff's response was that they would give me more bedding and I should just use the room. Angry at this, I went to the manager and complained again. In response, the hotel bought a large heater and turned it on in the living room, but the child who slept in the room had to shiver from the cold. This is a breach of the NSW Fair trading law consumer protection act and I will be making a formal complaint.

Amazing location and view. Reasonable service. Good pool. The room was just terrible. We went during vivid and so expected to pay a premium price which is fine for a premium experience however the standard of the room was not even basic. The bathrooms were quite frankly disgusting. Unfinished plastering, shower door didn’t close so water just went all over floor. Joins with black mould. Hole in floor with protruding piece of plastic. Kitchen sink tap leaking. Blood on doona. We paid over $4000 for 3 nights in a two bedroom harbour view suite and I think the photos speak for themselves. If there had been anything available close by I would have moved after the first night. No I didn’t bother complaining because I wasn’t feeling confident to do so and the management would be aware of the state of the bathroom as it has clearly been like it for a while. Very disappointed and upset at such a waste of money. Please see my other reviews as they are usually very positive.

Perfect location for a special VIVID experience. Celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary with two nights on the 7th floor in a lovely harbour view apartment where we could watch all the Circular Quay and harbour bridge lights, the special 1000 drone lightshow and an easy walk through the magical Lightscape at the Botanic Gardens, the Rocks, Art Gallery of NSW and the Opera House. Personable Reception staff greeted us ( always a plus), decent breakfast and just okay room service the rude head guy on at the Q restaurant wasn’t the least bit interested in trying to fit us in for dinner. Finding a reasonable place to eat during VIVID wasn’t easy but so pleased we didn’t have to venture out into the intense crowds and could watch the main drone lightshow event from our verandah. A very expensive two nights but worth it for our once in a lifetime anniversary.

This is where you want to be on Sydney Harbor. This is a fantastic hotel with rooms either overlooking the harbor or the park with the Opera House in the distance. The entrance is rather non-descript but functional. Check-in was fast and easy (although our key didn't work because the batteries in the lockset had died--it was quickly fixed). The head of housekeeping, Brooke, was very helpful and friendly. The room had a living room area, kitchen and laundry, dining area, bedroom, and bath plus a spacious balcony. The AC worked well. It was great having laundry available after having 3 weeks on the road. Breakfast was on a lower level in an area surrounded by floor to ceiling glass with a view of the harbor. You order from a menu. Check-out was a bit more complicated because we wanted to redeem some additional Accor points but the person on duty did not know how to do this. There was also the added confusion of the AU$400 that had been charged to our credit card at check-in instead of just being reserved on our card. She promised it would be resolved when the correct person came on duty that afternoon. As promised, we were contacted by phone and e-mail later that day and all was resolved. This is a fantastic hotel where we would gladly stay once again if ever in Sydney.
