Had an amazing time at Park Hyatt Sydney on the weekend. Upon check-in, we were greated by Courtney who was friendly and had great service. The check-in process was smooth and parking inside the car park was a breeze also. Since it is during COVID-19 times, valet parking wasn't available so you had to self park. Only downside of this was that the car park was full when I came back at night and ended up parking on the street until 8am the next morning. Another minor downside also was the credit card authorisation required at check-in. I was told that a $500 deposit would be taken out of my card if it was a debit card and that if I had a credit card, it would be $100 instead. I don't really understand this as majority of five star hotels only take $100 even if it was with a debit card? $500 per night for incidentals with a debit card is quite a significant amount. We had been allocated a nice room overlooking the city and if you looked outside the window enough, you could also see the Opera house which was a bonus. The room was spotless and also very clean! Not to mention a Japanese toilet in all the room. This brought back memories of Japan! One downside of the bathroom was that the blow dryer was broken and it took ages for someone to come deliver me a replacement to use. I had to call down to reception twice and upon the second call, this was then brought up to the room. Also, a bonus in this room was the Chrome cast available on the TV. This gave me the option to use my phone to watch Netflix and also YouTube. The in room dining menu was very limited in options since it is covid times so I can understand that not everything was available for offer. The Yuzu posset dessert a must try if you stay here and are a fan of citrus! The next morning, we ordered breakfast to be brought up to the room and Jonathan brought up our food and had a small chat with us also. So props to him too for the great service and for setting our table up! Breakfast was not too bad, but could have been better. Overall, a pleasant stay and the service from the team have been lovely and accommodating. I would recommend having abit more staff on though as it is starting to pick up now since people are leaving their homes and going out more now but that is just my feedback. Looking forward to my stay next month! …
What a treat. Simply stunning views, incredibly well appointed room with jaw dropping view of the Opera House and harbour. The level of professionalism in all their staff always shines when I have stayed at Park Hyatt’s. Sydney is no different. It was a late check-in. Courtney on the front desk was incredibly helpful and professional. A majority of the hotel amenities are closed due to COVID-19 but it doesn’t distract from what a relaxing and enjoyable hotel it is. I requested a late checkout and was told not a problem. Worth spending more for the view. An iconic view and everything one hopes for when wanting a truely 5 star hotel experience. I stayed in an Opera House view room (335). I can’t not wait to return. Stayed here a couple weeks prior to all travel being shut down due to COVID. This is a very nice, well run hotel situated in a great location, with nice views of the Opera House. All staff we interacted with were outstanding and most helpful. Could not have asked for better service. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance of the hotel. Great place to stay in Sydney and would definitely go back! Try to get a room with view of the Opera House.
For a five star hotel, particularly one that charges as much as the Park Hyatt Sydney, our stay was a massive let down. This was a special birthday gift from my husband and we were both looking forward to a luxury stay in a beautiful hotel especially as we had been in COVID-19 lock-down for many weeks. The service was very poor to say the least - no greeting on arrival - we were told to bring our bags in and check-in inside, the upgrade that had been requested and paid for was not processed and we were told to wait until 6pm to check-in to the upgraded room (we did not do that), the newspapers that had been requested were not delivered and breakfast was a debacle. Needless to say, we will not be visiting the Park Hyatt Sydney again.
