The hotel itself was an average hotel. The reception staff were average, the room was average, the price was average. What set the experience of staying here above anything else was the two concierge staff, Shaun and Pherba. Both Shaun and Pherba went above and beyond in helping me out when I lost my phone and did everything to help. They are a credit to Swissotel and the reception staff could learn a lot about how to deal with travellers by watching them.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed at the Swissotel Sydney for two nights with our two kids. Chose the Executive Suite with club lounge access. I have been working in the hospitality industry for over 30 years: I cannot express enough gratitude and compliment to all the staff here at the Swissotel. Each and everyone has gone above and beyond to make our stay incredible. The hotel is beautiful, the 1 bedroom suite with club access is fantastic value and offers everything you could ask for. The staff are the most important asset to a hotel and without these incredible people, a hotel can look and feel great but the service and again the outstanding service of all staff is above 5 stars. I want to send a special thanks to Woody and Puspa who were my first point of contact when I rang to ask about the services and the room. They explained everything and ensured that we would get exactly what we asked for. The restaurant team - The chef and kitchen team were outstanding and the food was fabulous! The bar staff Maira and Supen were so friendly and attentive. Nina at the club lounge and all staff there looked after us and went beyond to get my Daugher the sandwich that she asked for. The room and housekeeping were so nice and the room was amazing. This hotel is absolutely stunning and I want to thank the General manager and the whole management team for their hard work and the result that they have achieved in making this hotel - Swissotel Sydney absolutely a 5 star hotel if not beyond Thank you Cezar Ostaszewski

Made a booking by calling the hotel number, got quoted $2136 with breakfast for 7 days, arrived at hotel and was quoted $ 3500.00 Manager Woody was very helpful and advised to book trough booking.com. Got discounted breakfast as compensation for missadvoswd booking. Then First 2 nights were horrible as the light from crane next door was shining right into our room making it very bright. Finally after 2 days got a different room. Then just after 2.0 pm sent kids to pool to have some privacy with wife when an idiot just walked into our room without knocking and scared my wife. (Minibar) Extremely unprofessional. Breakfast was great but had to ask 5 days in a row for baby chair and they advised that they had only one available. Pool was infested with cockroaches most of the nights. Received $60.00 of breakfast for all the trouble. Manager Seloni was very nice and helpful. Compensation was not worth the trouble we went trough. After being a part of a large group booking in Swissotel Makkah (over 350 people booking Saudi Arabia) I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

Great location but as work booked this didn’t receive any Accor points. Room was small but nice. Toilet was running intermittently and when you washed your hands the drain would gurgle. Plates and room rubbish was left in front of other rooms longer than expected well I watched a cleaner walk past it.

I had no one at the front and it’s one of the busy streets in the city and had to pull over and walk in to ask the concierge to help for luggage and parking! Upon checking in no directions upon where to go for the lifts because it’s not the same lifts to go to your room either if you’ve never been to this hotel before. Requested late checkout and had 3 housekeeping press room bell at 830am then 9am then 930am! Money they hold on your account in case of damages upon checking in was not reimbursed and it’s been a week now and two phone calls later and still no money seen back in my account yet! Why am I chasing it?!! Should be

The Bar Manager is rude and not bringing long time loyal guests back to the Hotel. The staff in the restaurant are fantastic however it clearly falls down in the amazing new Arches bar due to the Bar Manager. With many valuable staff leaving this Hotel it clearly shows the Hotel is struggling and rude Management isn’t bringing guests in

The best location in Sydney CBD with shopping and theatres only metres away. The rooms are large, quiet and comfortable with all necessary facilities. Staff are professional and helpful. Restaurant offers a pre-theatre menu which is perfect for attending any of the great theatre choices.

Hotel is well located and within walking distance of most of the city's attractions and theatres. Rooms are well appointed and clean - but that's it. Our group of 3 was arriving at different times and coming from different locations. I had been very specific about who was arriving, how we were paying and who would be paying and we had booked interconnecting rooms. However, we found on check in none of our previous coms had been taken on board and the front desk just didn't seem to understand us. The interconnecting door wasn't open and there was a dirty room service tray outside our door from the previous guest which remained there until the following day. One of the televisions had to be replaced. There was blue gaffer tape all down one corner of the room - don't know what it was supposed to do, but was subsequently removed by the Engineer who replaced the TV. I will not be staying there again.
