Superb view from room 3025 with wonderful service and gorgeous hotel. HOWEVER, lots of problems which will make not go back. Room 3025 is located right below the indoor pool. From 6am on until late evening you can hear a dull thump, thump emanating from the pool. It was people swimming in the pool creating enough noise and vibration to be heard in my room and probably the entire floor. It was terrible. I had already unpacked and was not in the mood to complain, repack and move. An abysmal lack of tv channels. Considering the hotel caters to a large international clientele there should have been far more channels such as sky, bbc, cnn and others. Very disappointed to see nothing but Australian channels. Every morning when turning on the tv I got a screen note saying "no service available". I would have to get on my knees, pull the tv plug and reset the system. Also, walks seemed to be very thin. Our last night we had a baby next door and needless to say it wss not pleasant Overall not a good experience and would suggest to people to avoid rooms on the 30th floor.…

Had a very long layover in Sydney and decided to travel to Harbor area rather than stay at airport hotel. (Taxi wasn't cheap) Hotel was best value in that area. Nice room and amenities. Staff were helpful.

Intercontinental Sydney is a lovely property where we spent 5 nights. Our room was not serviced on 2 of those nigths, despite a daily request to clean & freshen towels. The excuse provided was that our do not disturb sign was hung, which it was not. On our day of departure, we discovered my wallet containing cash & my passport was gone. Hotel staff, assured me they investigated by asking the cleaning staff if they remembered taking a wallet. There was no personal touch, no effort to empathize or remedy, and the manger continued to misunderstand the details of my loss, which let me know they had little concern for my plight. intercontinental made an otherwise amazing trip, horrible.

The recent renovations to this iconic hotel have greatly enhanced the rooms and brought them up to the latest five star world class standard. The entry area continues to retain all the old colonial Treasury building charm and the service was excellent too. Very comfortable rooms and excellent location close to Circular Quay.

Disappointing stay with this reputable brand. I have stayed in other Intercontinental hotels before and considered them the best in the world, but this was a real let down. We had a car booked to collect us from the airport that never arrived! Over and hour we waited and there was no answer at the hotel after multiple attempts to call. Had to pay $98 for a taxi to the hotel that, despite having proof of transportation booking, was not reimbursed. All made sense when on arrival at the hotel, we were informed there was no record of our booking. Having flown 24hrs from the United Kingdom, exhausted, this was not what we wanted to hear. I provided emails and paper documentation pertaining to our booking, which required a 40 minute wait for manager approval until it was agreed to be authentic and that an “error has occurred somewhere”. The staff throughout the hotel, from the moment of arrival, until leaving, were rude, unhelpful and clueless. We were staying at the hotel as part of a cruise package. All documentation from the cruise liner advised there was a representative in the hotel who can assist you. NO ONE in the hotel knew anything about this, and I spent over £100 on mobile phone charges trying to find information out through the cruise company about transfers to the ship etc, whom kept assuring me there was someone based at the hotel. On the day of leaving the hotel to go to the ship, at this point having ordered a taxi as no one knew anything in the hotel, there they were with all the other guests, waiting foyer, telling me they had been there all week. Not impressed and cause a LOT of stress during a time we were supposed to be on holiday enjoying ourselves. Room service was also inadequate. You can only order certain things up until 11pm. We rang at 10:45pm to place order and the kitchen would not accept it? The room itself was nice, clean and extremely comfy, as you would expect. No complaints there at all, and is all that is keeping the review at a 3! Really disappointing stay. Would not come back, should we return to Sydney.…

Super fancy. Amazing views of harbour from the harbour facing rooms. Large windows which was great and decent lighting in rooms but why oh why don’t hotels put proper lighting in bathrooms. V annoying. Fabulous position for a walk to circular quay and the Opera House. Really weird entrance and exit which made walking to the hotel a bit of a traffic hazard. Lovely hotel at a high price. Didn’t think the breakfast reflected the price - you could do without it and go somewhere lovely for a breakfast with a view.

We stayed in this hotel July 2023and it was a truly wonderful stay . I cannot recommend the staff more highly . Particularly the concierge at the time who went above and beyond to help us and make our week long stay the best it could be .Even locating my camera for me that I had left on cockatoo island , getting it bought back to circular quay where they collected it for me and it was in my room waiting for us when we got back from a day out . Room was lovely and spacious , very clean and everything was so central from this hotel . Truly amazing place and if I was ever lucky enough to visit Sydney again I’d always stay here

Of course the location is great. Of course, the view is stunning. Of course, the interior design is modern and elegant. This is what I expect from a hotel of this category. Check. What I also expect (and normally get) is good service. And this was lacking almost from A to Z (some exceptions). The management needs to address the service quality. Particularly terrible at Aster.
