Large Room, Well appointed, very clean, everything in working order. You need to pay for a harbour view or else you are looking at down town Sydney which isn't pretty. Good breakfast (a la carte), quick room service - delicious thai beef salad, try the meat & wine co downstairs for a great steak.

Have stayed at the Intercontinental in Sydney twice now. The views overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House are amazing. The rooms are well designed and offer a high level of comfort. Most importantly, the service from the staff is always helpful and first class. Shall return.

The most plentiful, amazing selection of fresh seafood I have ever had! Snow and Alaskan crab claws were exquisite ! Oysters and prawns all different ways, sushi, meats and salads, a mouth watering dessert selection, topped off with huge selection of cheese and condiments. An absolute must for any foodie.

Location. Can’t be beat. Walking distance to Sydney Opera House, Circular Quay, buses, train, ferry, shopping malls and shopping district, and many interesting sites. I particularly liked the beautiful Royal Botanical Garden, which is right across the street. Staff. Fantastic. Friendly. Competent. Eager to help. Room. I would not call it luxurious, but it was large, comfortable, serviceable, and had... More

It is about time that a five star hotel should come with a coffee machine in the room. This is certainly an excellent addition as others hotel I stayed in Sydney don't have this. This is far better than those instant coffee that you usually get elsewhere. Fantastic hotel and if I need to be in the north part of... More

We typically do not stay in 5 star hotels, so we were very happy with this hotel. The service was fantastic in all facets including high tea, and although I would've liked a hot tub along with the indoor pool, the view of the harbour from the pool room is beautiful. The location of this hotel is fantastic - two... More

I've now stayed in a lot of Intercons around the world - and they are really my go-to brand for excellent places and this is no different. It is more that it isn't 'as' spectacular as other properties. The room was really excellent - great space and amazing view. The service was very, very good - as always with this... More

This is true Sydney 5 star hotel, the rooms are a little dated compared with other more modern properties but the Club access, facilities and view on Level 32 are amazing. Worth the expense and benefit to have this little oasis and enjoy Sydney harbour in its fullness. The staff are very attentive and nothing is to much trouble from... More

Stayed at Intercontinental Sydney for 2 nights. It is a good location and very near to Opera house, botanical garden, etc. The room is big and clean and from the bathroom I could still watch the TV while brushing my teeth as the hotel cleverly created a small window. The water pressure in the bathroom is good. The café had... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
