Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.

The hotel breakfast and location are very good. In my opinion Intercontinental Sydney has one of the best lounges in the world. Good service at the front desk and the lounge. The hotel is a bit outdated and the room is a bit small

Stayed for a weekend here recently, before lockdown. it is a beautiful hotel with great amenties. We had a very nice room and with a great comfortable bed. It is in a great location being close to Circulat Quay and the city. The service was excellent and the views are awesome. We used the pool which is very nice too. Highly recommend

We booked a room with a harbour view because that was our main criteria and we weren't disappointed. We could see the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and lots of comings and goings from Circular Quay. What a shame somebody decided to build a cruise ship terminal right by the bridge though - of the four nights we stayed, only one was there not a huge ship sitting there! It is a short walk from the hotel to the harbourside with all the restaurants, ferries, tram and bus stops and tourist shops. The Botanic Garden is very close by too. The hotel itself is as you would expect from Intercontinental - large, smart and busy. Our room was a reasonable size and very peaceful, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was included in our package - the choice and quality was good but it was nearly always crowded. The tables are close together (this seems standard for Sydney restaurants) and there were lots of people milling about at the buffet. Only hot drinks are served at the table and this can take some while. If you want to be close to the harbour this is a good place to stay; if you want a more personal service choose somewhere smaller.

It was a family trip celebrating parents’ anniversary. It seemed they valued members a lot, as a Spire Ambassador, lots of benefits on staying in this hotel. Hotel was fully booked, there were always busy at the reception, there were about 20 people when we arrived, every time it took me 10mins to approach the desk. Reception area was quite small so there was no queue could be lined up, concierge staff tried to offer assistance. However, I still think that hotel should put more manpower at reception and organized the crowded in front of the desk. Room was in standard size, high floor was arranged, some minor defects in my room. Pool and gym was on the top floor, worth visiting. However, had some issues with the changing room locker, beware of the lock. Some incidents happened during my 2 nights stay, I was quite disappointed at the beginning. Glad the GS manager Ken followed up closely. Great amenities for my parents celebration. Thank you! Breakfast was good, with wide variety of choices, worth it! The only concern was about the spaces between tables, really closed to each other. Overall, we had a pretty good stay, staff members were all friendly and helpful, can’t without mentioning both Kylie at front desk and a blonde hair young man at afternoon shift (sorry did not get your name). Hotel location was excellent, 10 mins walk to Opera House, just the hardware in the hotel was my concern.

This hotel was large and extremely beautiful with a stunning lobby bar and spacious breakfast area. The location was perfect and it was an easy walk to the Circular Quay area where the Bridge, Opera House and a number of shops and restaurants are located. We were on the 11th floor and faced the main street. It was very quiet and we did not hear any road noise. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I was surprised that the room only had a small closet and no storage area. Since we were only there for a couple nights, we just lived out of our suitcases and did not unpack. The refrigerator in the room was stocked and you could not even squeeze in a bottle of water to get cool. Breakfast was included with our tour group and the buffet was very good with lots of choices. The front desk and concierge were very personable and friendly and they even let us stay a couple hours passed our check-out time since it was raining so hard and we could not board our cruise ship until noon.
