On holiday from Scotland we travelled from Melbourne to Sydney to do some sightseeing and visit friends. Hotel was very clean. The room we stayed in was large and spacious. Bathroom very clean. Breakfast was not fancy but enough to start your day. We just bought in some groceries to top up. Cleaning staff did more than needed in our... More

Room and bathroom very comfortable, stylish and roomy. All very clean and refreshing. Contained all the facilities necessary for a short city stay. Liked that there was no bar frig so that there was room for other food and drink. Parking arrangements were excellent. We were happy to pay $10 for late departure from the car park. Staff were all... Have stayed here a few times whilst visiting Sydney. Very comfortable rooms, friendly staff and secure car parking. On our recent stay, we came down from the Blue Mountains by train to stay in Sydney. The hotel is quite a pleasant 15-minute or so walk from Central train station. (Museum Station is right across the road). Our room was quite... More

Ok, so for 6 of our 7 days the second lift didn't work, so we had to wait...minor in the scheme of things as serviced rooms, good air con (Sydney 25 in July!) And complimentary continental breakfast. Clean rooms plus great shower pressure, nice view over Hyde Park and close to transport and able to walk to The Rocks and... More

My son and I spent a couple nights at the Hyde Park Inn recently and had a very comfortable stay. The room we had was very spacious with a small balcony overlooking Hyde Park and kitchenette. The included breakfast supplies were simple but a nice inclusion if you didn't want too much and there are plenty cafes within steps of... More

Great location opposite Museum Railway Station. The room it self was good. We were on the 14th floor, and could hear every footstep in the room above. When someone above walked, our lightshades and wardrobe doors rattled. Very difficult to get a good nights sleep. Only one of the two lifts was working, leading to wait tomes of 10 to... More

Ok value for what we paid. Continental breakfast included but pretty average (actually had breakfast at the coffee shop down 2 doors). Maintenance issues when we visited, only 1 elevator working and limited hot was was a bit of a problem. When the room was made up, no dishes were cleaned. Walking distance to SCG, CBD, Rocks and Darling Harbour.

One of those rare places you can find a place to sleep a family of 5-6 in the one room for a reasonable price. Sure the rooms are standard and won't meet five star luxury but it's everything you need - great location to access all of Sydney's attractions, light breakfast (cereals + toast + OJ/fruit) incl in price, car... I really enjoyed staying in the Hyde Park inn. It wasn't salubrious but it was clean and comfortable. I stayed with my daughter and we asked for a studio room with a double and single bed. It contained a kitchenette and balcony that both looked over Hyde park, the memorial and buildings on the other side of the park. It... More

Stayed a week with family (4) in the 2 bedroom suite on the 10th floor. Staff polite as we moved through, one lift operating the only hassle. Rooms probably recently re-furbished, neat, clean, plenty of space, kitchen very adequate, simple continental breakfast a bonus, as was the free newspaper outside the door each morning - nice touch. Great location, buses... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
