I love an interesting boutique hotel so was super excited to stay here. The building is awesome and in a fantastic area. The staff were great and breakfast was generous and delicious. BUT… sadly there is no way that the rooms were 5 star. I had to call down to get my room re-cleaned as it was grubby when I checked in (hair in the bathroom, dirty mirrors, very dusty). It was a little better after but no where near as clean as I’d expect. I booked a queen room for a little extra space but didn’t even have a chair in the room so not sure what the extra money was for? I was surprised to not have a proper duvet cover - just 2 sheets either side of a duvet which had seen better days. In covid times I find this quite unhygienic. I understand that the bathrooms are small but they are also really tatty and urgently need a refit to be 5 star (cracked tiles, sloppy sealant etc). And I agree with comments on the AC - the unit was noisy and the room was too hot with it off. Overall, this stay fell short for the price point and I won’t rebook on my next trip.…
How do I start Moss the night manager greeted us at 11:30pm with smiles. We instantly fell in love with the hotel! Moss made us feel at home here on both nights. We are footsteps away from the habour and the view of all the city. We will 100% visit here again we have loved the stay!
The location of a hotel should not determine its star rating. This is a 3-4 star hotel in a 6 star location. Staff were good, food was very 3 star, No elevator, No real bar. No room service. No mini bar. A/C inadequate, not the cleanest. Very poor electrical outlets. Not enough. Tiny bathroom. AND WE HAD A SUITE!!! I've stayed in Backpackers that were cleaner and better facilities. Sorry guys, get real.
Awesome place, great hotel. So close to everything we wanted in Sydney and Moss the night manager was an absolute legend ! Very welcoming each night we came home 🙏 all staff were amazing and very welcoming!!
We stayed at the Harbour Rocks hotel for 3 nights in March 2022 as part of our Aussie trip to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday. The hotel is a great hotel in a fantastic location. We found it central to where we wanted to explore and has plenty of places to eat and drink around it. The staff are welcoming, friendly and would happily address any questions or queries raised. We found Gabriella extremely helpful and she’s a credit to the hotel. We would readily rebook to stay at the hotel on our next visit to Sydney.
My wife and I regularly stay at the Harbour Rocks Hotel Sydney. It is a beautiful boutique hotel in the best location to explore Sydney. The restaurant Tayim is also well worth a visit for breakfast or a middle eastern inspired dinner. We will be back again soon.
This was a surprise find. A small hotel with great service, impressive history and in a fantastic location. I had been a little concerned reading that the rooms were tired, but they must have been updated as they felt fresh and modern. Highly recommended.
An excellent stay from the friendly helpful staff to the beautiful clean room. A great location just walking distance from many interesting places to walk, shop and dine. I definitely want to return to this delightful hotel.
We accidentally booked the wrong night for this hotel. When we arrived the next day - unaware of our error- they said ‘we expected you yesterday’. Unfortunately they did not phone or email us after we failed to arrive so we were unaware of our error! They recommended we request a refund through our 3rd party booking agency and if we had any problems they would contact the 3rd party to assist us. However, we spoke to the 3rd party who contacted Harbour Rocks. Harbour Rocks refused any refund, even partial or discount, despite having said they would help us!! We know this was our error. However the hotel failed to phone or email us AND then declined any refund after offering to help us. When we asked why they hadn’t contacted us, Bridget said ‘it’s not our job to chase up people who don’t turn up’. Will never stay here again and would not recommended as the customer service is misleading and insincere at best.…
Location is great. Normally I don't complain, but the bathroom is terrible, for $329 a night I would expect a bathroom with more space. Hotel guest should be informed on check in and tell them that they hardly fit in to the shower and the wash basin in the way if you going to the toilet. Very disappointing.
