I so wanted to stay here as friends of mine had raved about its sister property in New York. And without sounding pretentious, we love our Five Star comforts and were happy to pay NZD $2600 for four nights in an Opera View suite. This property really promised to fit the bill on all fronts however after four days there I do struggle to call it a five star hotel of international standard. Yes I know we live in a Covid World and there are restrictions affecting the general mood however 'style' isn't a casualty of these events. Upside? Great location Superb service Nice eatery on site with excellent coffee Scrupulously clean Good toiletries Very comfy beds! But then...we noticed the refineries and points of difference were missing. Poorly designed bathroom - no shelf in shower, toilet roll holder in weird place, shower door opens the wrong way etc. The room we had was littered with fairly knocked about furniture- the coffee table especially. The generously sized gym had no music, no TV's - no energy. It was a morgue. The entry foyer was dark, uninviting and echoed the styles of the 1980's - lacking finesse. No music, no 'light', no spark. The pool was way smaller than portrayed and when I went swimming it was odd being next to a road and having passing cars looking down on you. I felt I should be waving at them. Maybe some strategic planters? Elaborate tables in each elevator lobby were adorned with a small plastic plant the size of a block of butter. Where are the big bouquets, grand ornaments? It turned out that the room we had seen and booked on line was not the one we were given. We were given an unrenovated one. I reached out to the hotel on the second day and they apologised for the standard of the room and upgraded us to a renovated top-end room which was very gracious however we weren't seeking that. We just wanted it known that we weren't feeling the Five Star vibe at all. We were very thankful for the gesture though. When all is said and done, if you compare this hotel to say the JW Marriott in Singapore, The Crown Towers Melbourne, the Marker in Dublin or the Icon in Hong Kong, there is an incredible difference between those four and the Four Seasons Sydney. The attention to detail is very different here and maybe that's the key - there's no 'wow' to the attention to detail? Even the door handles on the bathroom doors are $30 jobbies from the Mitre 10 - they just don't scream $750 a night. Anyway, no hard feelings moving ahead and in a time where tourism is an unknown industry we want to be supportive - not harmful. We wish the Four Seasons a stellar time during their refit and also every success in the future. May 2021 lead on to an outstanding future for you. Kind regards Zane

great stay at this hotel, staff were friendly and helpful, particularly Kelly Huang who was extremely helpful. Restaurant staff were also very helpful. We tried the degustation menu at the restaurant and were somewhat disappointed with some of the dishes. The rooms are also dated.

From the moment we arrived at the front entrance of the wonderful Four Seasons in Sydney, we knew our stay was going to something special. Every member of staff we encountered were professional and kind and clearly valued their roles and proud of their hotel. We had returned to the Four Seasons, following our first visit in March 2019, based once again on the professionalism of the staff. Our room overlooked the beautiful Sydney harbour that was an exceptional experience. The Four Seasons app that we used we used before our arrival and on our departure was very clever and very helpful. Particularly in assisting with our check out, The Mode restaurant within the hotel was excellent for our morning breakfasts during our stay. Thank you to all the staff who took such lovely care of us during our stay. We will definitely return!

Have stayed here a few times. The hotel certainly still impressed with both service and room features. Fabulous views from the room. Great block out blinds. Room spotless. Had an iPad to help with ordering or questions. Staff very helpful and professional. Ordered room service twice which was punctual and served on the trolley. Check in and out very quick as we used their app and iPad. Definitely stay again and recommend.

From the initial booking, to my interactions with the team via the chat function before arriving to make some arrangements for my partners birthday, right through to check out.
