We stayed to celebrate a special occasion, booked a king room with an opera house view @$590 a night. Arrived to find 2 single beds. We asked to move and sure did they move us to a room facing the 10 lane off ramp toll point to the harbour bridge. Beyond disappointed with what they thought was an acceptable swap.... More

Came here for a night to celebrate my 30th. Service was good, the room was big and had direct views of the opera house, the bed was amazing comfortable and the bathroom was clean and grand looking. At the time of the booking, my husband told them it was birthday and they sent up a piece of cake with the... More

Fabulous position Unrivalled views of Sydney from our room..Sydney harbour, bridge and Opera House on 27th floor. Staff polite, attentive, but nicely informal Breakfast with full range of high quality options. Staff made real attempt to engage with you whenever they came across you, without being overly intrusive. A wonderful stay

We stayed for five nights at the hotel in an executive grand harbor view room. The room was a great choice for us as a family of four. We had a roll-away bed and our toddler slept with us in the enormous bed. Come to think of it me husband mentioned that the bed linen was exceptionally soft, he never... More

We came to Sydney on the last leg of our Australian holiday, this whole holiday was developed by my wife with careful guidance from Trailfinders Newcastle upon Tyne, England. This hotel ticked every box in the following areas, room cleanliness, location, helpful reception staff, maid service, food, view of the opera house and many additional extras which you don't get... My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent and the view of the Opera House from our room was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Additionally, we enjoyed cocktails at the bar and dinner at Altitude. High tea was also wonderful. We will definitely be back.

Amazing view of the opera house from our Horizon Club bedroom. Perfect location makes it so easy to enjoy the habour bridge and the opera house. Stayed at a mid-scale hotel before moving to the Shangri-La hotel and what a difference. Our room had an amazing view of the Opera house, beautiful appointments, and loved having the TV speaker in the bathroom especially with a larger number of stations available at the hotel. Take advantage of "the Rocks" when you travel to this hotel!

Staying in The Rocks

Neighborhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
