The hotel is n a great location. Across the road from the railway station and bus terminal. Rooms very quite. Booking in very simple and speedy. Will stay there when ever we visit Sydney. Breakfast outside the hotel was only a few minutes walk away. Just a few minutes walk down to the beautiful harbour and Opera house.

I've stayed here a few times with work. It's central to just about everything in Sydney, rooms are a reasonable size and the beds are soft and comfortable. The hotel itself is one of the oldest in Sydney and is in real need of another renovation. The room I was in had a quite noisy air con unit (thermostat is... More

This hotel offers great location in the middle of the business district in Sydney. Easy walk also to the harbour and the rock. Basic rooms that could do with some refurb but does the job for a good bed to sleep in and basic bathroom requirements. The team in the restaurant and bar were fun and professional and very welcoming.... More

Its been over 13 years since we last stayed at the Menzies, and nothing has really changed that much at all...Andrew at Check in was wonderful..as were all the staff..we ate at the restaurant downstairs twice, and the food and service was excellent.. We spent several hours listening to Kylie in the Piano Bar, and what a talent she is..But... More

Amazing evening at the Piano Bar at the Menzies with 'the piano chick' - Kylie! A fantastic evening! We had dinner first in the Menzies 'One Four Restaurant', which was very nice and served great Kangaroo! BUT the highlight of the evening was spending hours sipping cocktails and making music with Kylie. She was engaging, entertaining and inclusive - involving... More

Lovely hotel but we had to be move three times because of air conditioning and television faults. The weather was very cool and the rooms were freezing. The restaurant was nice but the service very slow or non existent. The location is great but you need to book in the upgraded side of the hotel.

Average but comfortable rooms, liked the old school 50's charm to the place. LOVED the location - across the road from Wynyard Station and a hop away from the Town Hall & Pitt St shopping district, a very short walk to Darling Harbour and Barangaroo Gardens. The restaurant is charming... food took a while, but only because it was a... More

The overall service experience was fine. Rooms are dated and have not been maintained well. Cracks in walls, stains in bathrooms (including the toilet bowl) and general wear and tear indicate that they have not invested in maintaining the property well. Definitely does not deserve the price and should be downgraded on rating. Not even close to 4 star let... More

This was a surprise to me. A very quaint hotel which has an old charm to it. The service was excellent and the ambiance was great. The rooms are small but clean and well appointed. WiFi was a bit slow. It has a nice bar / restaurant in the lobby. The buffet breakfast was ok but there are plenty of... More

Small but adequate and comfortable rooms. This is not a standard Accor fitout, more a 1950's refurbishment. The café on the ground floor is a better choice for breakfast than the first floor. Great central location, next to Wynyard Station. Restaurant areas a short walk away.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
