I'm trapped here for quarantine, and though the idea of two weeks doing nothing in a hotel is actually not that bad - I knew from the moment I was allocated Marriott that it was going to be terrible. Honestly I don't know who gives out stars but this place is more of a motel than a hotel, it's grotty, ugly tacky and the phone recording can't even pronounce the location name properly - its Circular 'kay' not 'qway'. Tried to keep an open mind about it because the beds quite comfy, but the window doesn't open, there's no ventilation, and the food is worse than aeroplane quality. So I tried to order uber eats and deliveroo - that of course lead to a whole new plethora of issues - being the orders go missing and never get delivered to my room and when they do they're cold, soggy or cemented and hard. Tried ringing reception to see what had happened multiple times when orders take more than 40 minutes to arrive and yet no answer - even after 20 minutes of being on hold. There's also alarms going on through out the night, weird high pitched sirens at midnight and all sorts of noises at all hours. If you get stuck here - run.

Just a heads up what to expect if you stay at the Sydney Harbour Marriot in Pitt street. 1) You will not have a window that opens. 2) No exercise outside 3) one meal from breafssr consist if cold beans and a cold sausage...the rest is cereal that you probably will not eat. 4) For lunch and dinner there's high chance that over your 14 days you will have salad twice a day...but do not worry for the $3,000 that you will pay you get a bonus- Live walking insects in your salad.

Stayed here for staycation after trying many upscale hotel (Intercontinental, Sofitel, Sheraton, Four Seasons, Pier One...) Location: it is a short walk to circulars Quay and have good view to EITHER Harbour Bridge OR Opera House Lounge: there are a lot of choice for breakfast but not much for happy hours. Service for breakfast is a little bit slow. The problem is cutlery is not clean Room: has good view except Junior suite all is lower floor and has roof view. However, facilities look dated and awkward with bedside table. The carpet is too old. It’s good for tourist who spend most of their time for sight seeing outside who just need a bed to rest; for staycations I would prefer other properties.

I had two stays back in March at the beginning of the pandemic starting, but neither of them really affected my stay Pros: 1) Comfort - Large room, reasonably comfortable bed, large bathroom/shower 2) Location - this is close to everything. There are a lot of shops, public transportation, and restaurants. The Opera House is very close and so are the Botanical Gardens. Cons: 1) Electrical Outlets - There are not enough plugs around the room. There was no place close to plug in my phone to charge 2) Rooms with a view - I use the term "view" loosely. Unless you are on a high floor, your view isn't very great. I had one room with 3) Parking - if you are bringing a car, be aware that there will be a steep fee for parking the car. I think it was $60 AUD/day. I don't know if that is normal in Sydney, but that seems steep to me.

We had a great time over the summer here. The Club was rocking at that time and everything was superb in our room, great water pressure in the showers, too. It seem s like a memento from a different era from the perspective of this stage of the pandemic.
