We stayed directly across the road and thought we'd stop for a quick drink on the way to the AFL. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered food and were very pleased with everything we ate. All meals were decent sized and tasted amazing. Recommend the Chicken Wings either as a share or a light meal.

Well, it wasn't as if the staff at the pub were rude or anything, or the patrons scary, but this place seemed to be pretty boring - it just seemed to be like an ordinary pub, something that really doesn't do all that much for me, especially in the inner city. Sure, as I said the staff were friendly, however... More

We stayed here for 7 nights - had we not paid in full we probably would have found somewhere else to stay. The room was a double and reasonable with a fridge. We had to buy plastic plates cutlery and cups as the kitchen was horrific and they said we could rent cutlery to use however when we asked they... More

One of the worst hostels I've stayed in. There was no fan or air con in the middle of a summer heatwave so had to keep the door open meaning I could hear the noise from the busy road just outside. My food was stolen from the fridge, staff acted like asking them for something was a pain. There were... More

I stayed in this hostel for one night and that was enough! It is very central (less than ten minutes from the central city and you only have to walk in a straight line), I didn't come across bed bugs and the pub food was absolutely delicious and ridiculously cheap. I would not stay here again because I got no... More

We were staying at the Sydney Boulevard Hotel across the road and ate here for two nights. The menu was varied and what we were served was good value. The steak was done as requested and was very tender. Obviously a backpacker hotel but the ambience was good.

I stayed with my sister for 3 nights there... The room was very smelly, no bedsheets, just the cover and the blanket. The ambience was nice there, no party animals, the bathroom is clean, unfortunately they were doing some painting in the female toilet and I went around the hotel looking for the other bathroom but it was locked so... This is the most horrible hostel that I have stayed in! My boyfriend and I stayed in a double room for 3 nights. If it wasn't because everything else it was already booked in Sydney we would have left the first night! The utilities where really dirty (toilet, shower and kitchen). However, the worst came with the room itself. We... More

No sleep at all. Hot room, horrible mattress and next to the very, very busy William Street. No air conditioning in the room so we had to leave the windows open and felt like laying on the street. Please, install air conditioning! Bathrooms ok, Pub downstairs ok.

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighborhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
