We stayed for the long weekend. This hotel is well located and nicely styled. We stayed in a room on level 5. We elected to stay in a larger room than the standard room. This room was not large but still comfortable and well considered. The large bed was comfortable and the shower was also relaxing and well done. The hotel service from the front of hotel staff to the breakfast room staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included during our stay and was adequate. We parked in the Wilson’s carpark opposite which proved very convenient. Two nights at this hotel would be as long as we would stay. The hotel is convenient for a weekend city stay allowing us to attend the theatre, explore the harbour, the exciting Barangaroo precinct and all it has to offer as well as visit galleries.

Room Tip: Stay on higher levels if possible to avoid traffic noise. We stayed on level 5 which helped.

Very happy with this hotel. Lovely room, though don’t expect views. Clean, tidy room. Staff attentive & friendly. Within walking distance of Darling harbour & not far from Wynyard train station. I would recommend this hotel.

Great design, funky atmosphere. Staff were robotically friendly but also helpful. Room was excellent, clean and comfortable. Quieter end of town but an easy walk to Barangaroo, King St Wharf and Darling Harbor, so the location works.

Well designed, comfortable, clean and quiet rooms conveniently located in the Barangaroo area and within walking distance to city centre and Sydney Harbour. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect when you want a high quality hotel but only really need somewhere to sleep, shower and change. Rooms are quite compact so not ideal for stays longer than a few nights or if you need a lot of wardrobe space.

We were excited for our first stay at West. It had been awhile since we’d been in Sydney and were keen to stay in the Barangaroo precinct. Checkin was friendly and efficient, but a couple of our requests (for additional towels and pillows) weren’t in the room - but were when we got back to the room on the first night. Bed was comfy, and amenities were nice. But.... Our room included a “complementary continental breakfast”. We were advised that we’d need to book for breakfast, which is a little strange when you’re on holiday, but we booked and headed down at the allotted time (9am on a Saturday). It’s too long a saga to go into, but we watched other customer walk out unfed. We spoke to two separate waitresses and the restaurant manager and still, after 50 minutes, we’d received only an orange juice and a pot of tea. I then headed out to the front desk to talk to them who were completely unaware of the chaos going on in the restaurant. I think we saw a 20 minute period when not a single customer (there was maybe 50 people spread over about 15 tables) receive a morsel of food or a drop of drink. Finally something come out - incorrect order, and relatively bland in taste. We ate it anyway and then headed out. We checked out without bothering to stop for breakfast the next day and walked past the same tables with nothing much on them on our way to Wild Sage just down the road for one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a while. West is worth a look, but just to put your head down, head out somewhere else for breakfast I think!

Dear AdelaideArchitect, Thank-you for taking the time to post a review. I was obviously pleased to learn that you enjoyed our beds and room amenities. Although, I would like to extend my personal apologies for the inconvenience you endured. as I was very disappointed to read your feedback of your breakfast experience is not indicative of our usual exemplary standards. I appreciate you telling me as it is only with such feedback that we can take steps to improve. I hope that we will have an opportunity to impress on your next visit to Sydney. Kind Regard Nathan Kengike Hotel Manager
