We actually went in November 2013 and as soon we went in the "reception" we understood we were in the wrong place. We have been traveling as a backpackers so we are not fussy about cheap or hostels, but this place was absolutely disgusting. Cockroaches were the first thing you could spot in your room so you can imagine the...

Nothing good to say, only advise DO NOT STAY HERE.. between the junkies everywhere, the bra found under the bed, OH and the bed.. stained smelly sheets! Checked out early cause I thought someone might stab me in the night! If there was a -1 rating... this one would get it

I always feel people can be harsh on trip advisor but in this case this excuse of a 'lodge' is too far. The photos are nothing to what the place is like. We booked through trip advisor, had the incorrect funds come out and were charged by card before we arrived which I thought was odd as booking.com always say...

I laid a towel down ontop of the bed and slept on that. Just incase i caught some sexual disease off the covers. The cockroaches are pretty friendly. they come and say "hi" quite alot. They had one toilet which was broke so i pissed in the shower. We stayed one night and left!

Staff are random and rude and dirty. Obviously don't know how to clean. They had a 10-11 year old boy cleaning !!! What the heck - is that even legal ?? I got there at 5pm and had to wait for the manager to come and then said the room I booked had being taken. So to another room I...

I have travelled a lot and I have stayed at multiple budget places. This is not a lodge. The place does not cater for tourists in ANY way except taking your money. There are lodgers who are obviously staying there permanently and they show total disregard for the services supposed to be rendered by a "lodge". The reception is non-existing:...

Agree with all the bad comments below. I booked this Lodge as Part of my Lions tour and left it the day before travelling from Melbourne to Sydney, I booked the lodge for 6 days days - big mistake. I arrived late and the Lodge's main door was locked, however, a couple of blokes hanging about outside said that they...

We stayed at Aussie Lodge because of its central location. On arrival we noticed the stale smell of cigarettes. We were supposed to stay 5 days at Aussie Lodge. We went to explore after check in. When we returned our room was crawling with cockroaches of all sizes. The sheets were dirty looking, mattress seemed 30 years old. The wall...

The worst hotel experience of my life. This place is the pits. Very dirty. Toilets a disaster. One room smelled so badly of mould we were forced to share a room and are still waiting for a refund. It describes itself as being in Potts Point. It is opposite Kings Cross station, it could not be situated more central to...

Staying in Kings Cross

Neighborhood Profile
Kings Cross
Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
