HUMA Hotel Kotor Bay in Montenegro is a 5* property that consists of 89 rooms, 10 waterfront villas, breathtaking beach and a Spa center. The Hotel is located in Dobrota, within Kotor Bay, a place which blends stunning landscape, the cultural heritage of Kotor, unique Venetian architectural style, and sub Mediterranean climate into a beautiful surrounding. The contrasts of this place are heightened in the cultural and historical heritage, combined with its beautiful nature. A 15-minute walk will take you to Kotor Old Town, where you will find historic Roman and Gothic buildings, old city walls, churches and local shops - all in the embrace of the spectacular Kotor Bay. Narrow streets and squares, many valuable monuments of medieval architecture were among the reasons why UNESCO put Kotor on the list of the world natural and cultural heritage.

Location is great and right onto a nice beach and close enough to the centre of Kotor. Rooms are rather spacious and nice. Service is kind. Breakfast is not very good: I think they have the worst coffee ever tasted in my life. Price is a bit high for the overall standard.

This is a lovely spot and the hotel could be perfect, however they just need to get a few small details right. After a long journey to get there (we flew to Dubrovnik and had a transfer take us using the small border crossing, very easy, no queues). We had a nice welcome to the hotel however we were taken to the wrong category of room, there was something wrong with their booking system and they had given us an ordinary room instead of a suite (luckily I had my booking printed off). It was rectified but it took quite a long time and we were keen to get unpacked changed and get to dinner. Cons: Wasp nests by the pool need sorting Pool dirty, needs cleaning - yellow scum line round it and dead flies/wasps in there for days, pool surround also needs sweeping occasionally. I picked up an empty peanut packet that had I had seen the previous day. No drinks service by the pool, you have to go and ask for coffee, then the glasses are never collected, stay there all day Never any pool towels in hamper, always have to go and ask at reception, sometimes they have them, sometimes you have to wait and they bring them out to you. The beach area was lovely but the music is way too loud, you cannot relax or read a book. I can understand it being loud from 5pm but not at 10/11 in the morning! Room: on website it says full length mirror, we don’t have one No tissues, No pad or pencil, 5 hangers in wardrobe 2 tiny tiny dressing gowns My complimentary slippers went missing on day 2 Room keys stopped working on day 5, no reason given Room not serviced til 3pm on a couple of occasions Dinner: we had dinner on our first night, food was excellent until we got to dessert. My husband ordered the Creme brûlée. It came straight out of the fridge and the top was soggy. We explained that it should have a hard crispy top on it. It came back and this one had been heated but still soggy on top. We sent it back once more and the waiter came back saying the chef refused to heat the top any more, this is how its supposed to be! We laughed and said ok but then you cant call it creme brulee. The waiter brought out another dessert as he wanted us to be happy. On our last day we had lunch and when selecting a dessert we were told there were only 2 available (there were only 4 on there to start with) Straws, stop using them unnecessarily. For an eco hotel to be using plastic straws in all their drinks including coffee is unacceptable Spa: booked a massage and asked for the loud music to be turned off in the room. It was. Had a great massage and afterwards lay down in the relaxation area. 5 minutes later on came the loud music. This is not what you have in a spa! The idea of a spa is to relax and unwind, not be agitated by loud music! Pros: Love the yoga classes and the yoga teacher was great, however you need to decide where to do it. Mixed in amongst the walkway and dinner tables, trying to find a space, looks very amateurish Stunning views and terraces Breakfast very good. There is no menu to order any a la carte from but you can ask the waiter for poached eggs etc and they will bring to your table. All the staff are lovely and friendly I know all the above points are small things but it could be improved so much and then it would be outstanding! We also ate along the seafront at Bonaca which was very good and the Hotel Conte in Perast (short taxi ride)

Five Star heaven! We stayed here last month and can not say enough good things about Huma Bay resort. First impression when we arrived was "gorgeous". Greeted by a very welcoming staff at check in, then we met the General Manager Nachiszo our first night and he stayed in touch with us the whole week making conversation and making sure all of our needs were being taken care of. You can tell he knows how to run a hotel by the actions and attitude of his staff, we can't say enough good things about how nice and welcoming they all were. The level of service they provided was excellent. It was the grand opening week of their beautiful hip new restauraunt right on the waters edge with Chef Enzo in the kitchen. The rooms are very modern, sleek and comfortable (we stayed in a one bedroom suite) complete with a nespresso coffee maker for that first morning cup. The majority of the units have balconies facing the beautiful bay. You will not grow tired of the spectacular view. They can arrange charter boats that will pick you up and drop you off right at their private dock (right next to the bar, you can't beat that!) They have the nicest and largest beach front in the entire area (with attentive beach staff) lounge chairs, couches and bean bags to hang out in by the pool bar. The morning breakfast room had a great selection of delicious foods, from eggs made to order, salads, fruits, cold cuts, hot dishes and all the specialty coffee selections to choose from, my favorite was the Champagne :) .. We were invited for drinks on the evening of their soft opening of the new restaurant, with a glass of good wine under the stars, the view of the bay was heavenly.... Thanks again, Carlos and Frances from California. :)

The Hotel is in the most stunning spot of Montenegro. The beach is beautiful and the stuff is super friendly. The atmosphere is great, the Spa and gym are spacious. There is everything one needs. The breakfast buffet was so good, something for everyone. Old town Kotor and Perast is only a few kilometers away. Absolutely worth a visit. We will return.
