Unfortunately I wasn't able to choose zero and to be honest if it wasn't for my treatments at the spa it would have definitely been a zero. So where do I start, we came here on Saturday for my hen do. It started off that I hadn't been given my room upgrade which OK wasn't too bad, we went for... More

My wife and I recently stayed for a 3-day break at Slaley Hall. We booked a standard twin room and checked in to room 339 which overlooked the car parks at the front of the hotel. The room had been refurbish to a good standard and I was pleased that my emailed request for a possible upgrade to a room... More

We stayed for 2 nights recently and enjoyed a huge room with four poster bed, really good breakfasts and a very nice dinner in the main restaurant. The staff were very knowledgable, helpful and pleasant. if you wish to visit the Hexham area this is a very pleasant place to stay.

My partner and I arrived for a relaxing weekend away. Upon arrival, we were overwhelmed by the beautiful surroundings and stunning hall. Unfortunately, it became apparent very quickly that the staff were struggling to cope with the weekend capacity. Basic things that we have previously taken for granted were not up to scratch. For example, none of the rooms seemed... More

There are a lot of facets that on first view are very pleasing about this hotel. The grounds are lovely, the rooms are comfortable, the 19th hole and its staff are great and Christian in The Dukes restaurant was the perfect host. Now to the bad news and the reason for this poor review. On arrival in the Friday we... More

This was my Daughters hen do which was booked back in January. The check in was diabolical and some of the groups luggage was lost . The Hen was unable to get into her room until 4pm when is should have been 3pm and some of the group had confirmed with the reception it was still ok to decorate her... More

We have visited Slaley hall for a number of years and have witnessed the steady decline in both quality and sevice. On this occasion we were completely underwhelmed, from the booking process to leaving the restaraunt it was dire. We were guests of Slaley Lodge owners as we were considering buying one ourselves our hosts phoned ahead to book a... More

We were Wedding Guests and we had a lovely two days. Enjoyed a walk in the grounds which are beautiful. Staff most pleasant and helpful. Good food and accommodation. Everything flowed along due to the attentive staff. Very pleasant stay.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Not 100, not 500 but 1000 acres of Northumberland moorland and forest play home to this magnificent, elegant Edwardian mansion. That the interiors are almost as dramatic as the exterior says it all. This is very old world grandeur with a modern twist. Bask in the warmth of the reception you receive on arrival, dine at Hadrian's Brasserie, or at the Duke's Grill. Indulge with a Vichy water spa treatment or just flop in the fantastic indoor pool. The great outdoors doesn’t get much greater. After a bracing country walk in the wilds, or round on our championship golf course, retire to the Claret Jug and the 19th Bar for a stiff brandy. Surely you deserve it ? ... more   less
