We had a IHG free night that we needed to use and decided to use it here. Best decision ever! The hotel provides a free ride to and from the hotel in a clean, air-conditioned bus (on weekdays, pickup at 10 or 11 am/dropoff at 2 or 3 pm, in district 1). Normally for this type of voucher, breakfast is not included but the hotel offered free breakfast since we are Platinum Elite members, woohoo! They also upgraded us to an ocean-view room on the third floor. We saw an advertisement that there was a complimentary buffet at the on-site Casino... Intriguing! It is only for those with foreign passports. You go to the Casino, register, and get a voucher to get in to their buffet at the Casino (one voucher for each 24 hour period of your stay at the hotel). The buffet is very basic (think one step above airport lounge food), but hey, it's free! And after a long 2 hour 45 minute shuttle ride, pretty much anything will taste good. The buffet the day we went included salad, Korean bbq beef with leafy greens, roast chicken, steamed veggies, won-ton noodle soup and a few Asian desserts like mango pudding. Not a five-star spread but good enough to hold you over until dinner! The room was beautiful, modern and immaculate. Standard amenities were provided, including spa-quality shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. We didn't have time to use the stand-alone tub but it looked spotless. The only downside is there was no balcony and the windows don't open, so although the ocean looked beautiful, you do miss out on hearing the sound of waves crashing against the shore. We came in late January and it was very windy, so we didn't venture into the ocean. But it was still nice to walk along the beach and enjoy the sea breeze. The hotel keeps the beach in front of it very clean. But further down the shore, a lot of garbage comes in from the ocean, so that's a bit of an eyesore. So sad that so much rubbish is thrown into the ocean. We spent more of our time in the pools, which were huge and cleaned regularly. I believe the property (shared with Holiday Inn) includes 8 pools. This time of year is low season (right before Vietnamese New Year), so there was hardly anyone around. We had the pools to ourselves most of the time, which we didn't mind at all! They also have equipment you can rent such as floaties, bicycles, body boards, surfboards, paddleboards. Personally I think body boards should be included since they are not that expensive and make swimming in the ocean a lot safer. The property also has free mini-goft, a basketball court, a mini soccer field, and volleyball/badminton nets (you can borrow the clubs/balls/racquets for free). Oh, and also a movie theatre that you buy tickets for (only around $2-3 dollars USD per ticket). Aquaman was playing, with Vietnamese subtitles. Our friends went and enjoyed it since they were the only ones in the theatre. We had dinner at Sea Salt, which is at Ixora, a hotel that is included in the Grand Ho Cham strip and is just a 5 minute walk from the Intercontinental. We were the only ones at the restaurant! The Australian beef burgers were good (came with fries, for 280k) and the pasta was tasty, but the pasta portions were way too small. It was 280k for seafood pasta and it had exactly two small shrimp, one piece of squid and a few unshelled clams. The sauce and spaghetti noodles were good but they definitely need to increase the portions by at least a third, or even double. Sodas were 70k. The breakfast buffet is excellent. They have your typical egg station and western options such as bacon, eggs, sausage, roasted potatoes and roasted cherry tomatoes. They also had a selection of cheese and cold cuts, cereal, and a pretty extensive salad bar and a yogurt bar (with Greek yogurt and mix-ins). They had a nice variety of mini pastries like donuts, danishes, croissants. Each day is a different Vietnamese noodle soup dish (it was bo kho beef stew when we were there and it was delicious), a few dim sum options, plus lots of other Asian dishes. Fresh fruit is kept in a glass case, which is very hygienic. They had coffee machines where you could get cappuccinos and lattes, and fresh watermelon, orange and apple juice. However, be forewarned that not all dining venues are open at mealtimes. We wanted to grab lunch before heading home at about 12:30 pm, and there was only one cafe open that had limited offerings, such as hamburgers, fries, and pizza. Overall, a very pleasant and relaxing stay. We heard from other friends who stayed here in September that there was a problem with flies, but we didn't have that problem at all while we were there. Even without the voucher, the rate is only around $100/night, which is a steal considering it includes the free shuttle and breakfast. Maybe the on-site casino has something to do with the low rate... In any case, we will definitely come back here when we are ready to get out of the city!

An expansive resort with lots of features that should have been a great stay. Unfortunately, a number of short-sighted policies leave a really bad taste from staying here. The first is brutally-inflated extra person charges, including charging for an extra bed even if the room has enough beds. They also take great pains to push point-earning at the F&B outlets - only problem is all the ones you can earn at were closed. And considering the very, very inflated F&B prices at the hotel, for them to nickel and dime guests and not deliver a few cheap IHG points for dining is really a poor decision. They even opt for not giving points for the inflated extra person charges. The cost to the hotel for these would be small, but the feeling of taking advantage of the guest by not giving them is definitely large.

Huge hotel in Ho tram. There is nothing to do outside hotel (apart from golf course) so amenities important. This is a hotel you come and hang out at the pools. They have two huge pools. Shared with Holiday inn. You stay at InterCon you get some freebies where the HI guys have to pay for. Pool area really good. Good service. Beach ok for south Vietnam. Cleaned every morning but nothing special. This is not the Maldives but a good easy to visit place from HCMC over a weekend. Many bars and restaurants at place. A big pricy

I was not welcomed as like any of the hotels in the IHG system as an ambassador member, with no welcome drink, and no welcome fruit. I booked a room for 2 nights for me and my family, but after only 1 night, the receptionist called my mother's room and asked to check out at noon, only my room was checked out at 4 pm. Do your staff kick customers out so bluntly? When I called down to ask the staff, they said it was a mistake, apologized lightly, and pretended nothing had happened. I was hoping that the hotel would take any action, but it seems that satisfying customers is too difficult for the staff, maybe! Anyway, thanks for giving me the experience I deserved and, of course, I will never come back again!

Very isolated. Expensive food and drinks though very delicious. No choice of eating etc elsewhere as it, and the Holiday Inn next door are so remote. Very long taxi to get here. 3.5 hours! Resort lovely & staff amazing just nowhere else to go as so isolated.

The resort is huge with two hotels full of facilities like cinema, casino, etc. Food is good though some restaurants do not open all days during the week so you should check before heading there. The opening hour of bar or restaurants is limited up to 11pm or even earlier. Resort policy for check-in is 4PM which I think it is so late. Thus I had to ask for early check-in like 2pm, it did happen with the staff support, so please remember to ask for it. We organised birthday party and some family dinners in the resort, the organisation was great and seafood was amazing.

I have done my fantastic trip at InterContinental Grand Ho Tram, Mr. Vu Cheif Concierge was an amazing local guide. He treats us like his brothers, bringing the most funny, comfortable, and much relaxing during my time. Most delicious local restaurants had been suggested by Mr. Vu and I love to enjoy them all. The Room was great too, thank you very much and I will be coming back on the nearest day.

A beautiful resort with great service. All of the staff were so friendly and professional. Special thank you to Amy, Kathy, Billie,Mr Quyit (whom my daughter fell in love with at the Churchill restaurant), and Son at the pool bar. The resort is well maintained. The food has plentiful portion sizes and is very good (a bit pricey), and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will be back again.
