I had high hopes about Boipepa and this Pousada and wasn't disappointed. We stayed at Pousada Santa Clara for 4 nights and would have loved to have stayed longer. Boipeba island is beautiful and well worth the 5-hour journey from Salvador. We stayed in the double room (which was actually bigger than my flat in London) with a view of...

We had a great time here with charles and all the team looking after our every need - food was so good that we didnt dare eat anywhere else on the island . ( other then the lovely lobster resturant 90 min walk down the beach) Wifi is present but slow - frankly it amazing that they have it in...

We found out about Biopeba through i-escape and Lonely Planet, at first its seemed like a long haul to get here but its not that difficult and like the other reviews well worth the effort. Everyone else I spoke to went to Morro do Sau Paulo which is crowded and touristy, Biopeba is remote, rustic, charming, fantastic beaches, Santa Clara...

We were peasantly surprised by our stay at Pousada Santa Clara. Charles (the proprietor) and his brother Mark (the chef) run a wonderful get away. And to say that they take care of you is an understatement. Both are American and speak Portugese so all arrangements, including the required travel arrangements to get to Boipeba - daunting at first -...

We had a fantastic time. The location, the food, the relaxing environment. Everything was just great. Rooms were clean and fine. Staff was very nice. We don't speak the language but we got by, (or Charlie the manager translated). The restaurant is only open for breakfast and dinner, but it was always fantastic food and plenty of options to choose...

We had our second visit to the Santa Clara this year. Last year we just stumbled upon it and this year we couldn't wait to get back, and more than likely we'll be there in 2009. The Santa Clara is the perfect combination of home and paradise. The pousada is comfortable and cozy while the island of Boipeba is a...

We just returned from 9 absolutely perfect days at Pousada Santa Clara! I cannot say enough about our stay...but will certainly try. After reading all of the glowing reviews we were hoping for the best but also know that people have different experiences / expectations. When I say we were blown away...I'm not exaggerating. From the moment I started emailing...

Whilst staying in Salvador, the owner of the pousada recommended Santa Clara in Boipeba as a great trip and wonderful place to stay. We took him at his word and had a fabulous time. The other reviews here sum it up perfectly. Our only comments - as a retired couple we wanted both the desert island experience combined with comfort...

We stayed at Boipeba for four days last month. It is a charming place. The room was lovely, though the private second story veranda with hammock was my favorite. The nearby island town is very pleasant. Lots of people out in the late afternoon and evening on the cobblestoned or sand streets, soccer on the main suare. The food at...

I just got back from a week stay at Pousada Santa Clara on the island of Boipeba, which is south of Salvador, in Brazil. Although the travel necessary to get there is challenging, it is well worth the trip. There are no cars on Boipeba, and the lush island greenery and river and ocean availability is great. Pousada Santa Clara...
