This 16th century castle was totally ruined and must have needed a huge effort to return it to it's former glory. The newly restored castle and hotel was opened only 2010 and soon after we stayed there for the first time. We have been there 3-4 times and it may tell something about the place. The castle is middle of the countryside in s small village of Hradek and it's quite a surprise to see it's light pink facade first time. The surrounding countryside is quiet but offers many great footpaths leading to the other villages or simply winding through the beautiful countryside. The rooms are more than spacious with big bathrooms - the biggest room we have stayed was around 70-80 m2! All rooms are individually decorated with old furnitures and paintings and sometimes with frescos. The rooms are like new and very clean. The staff is friendly but do not speak much English - however you will manage! There is a very good and not expensive restaurant in the castle and you can have your breakfast inside or outside. And it's a good breakfast. The big part of the charm is also the peaceful location at the small lake. There is a big walled garden and benches to sit but there are also some activities available - bicycles, long walks, a swimming hall even (a hot one), massage is also available and if you drive little bit further you can rent kayaks or visit in the nearby town, Susice or other castles.…
Two couples traveling together. We stayed here one night and wanted to stay much longer. The rooms are spacious, with an old-world charm. Bathrooms are newly updated. Our only complaint was the windows, which are authentic double paned casement windows. In order to have fresh air, you have to have the outer ones open, which open outwards, and the inner ones open, which open inwards. Unfortunately, in our room (20), the blinds are wood casement windows so to block light or insects, those had to be closed but couldn't be if the inner ones were open. So the room got a little stuffy. There is no elevator, and our room was up a lot of stairs that had oodles of charm. At least we had no trouble with stairs but the other couple had to take a ground-floor room because they did. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality--various cheeses and deli-style meats, pastries, baked eggs with sausage, breads, juices, coffee. Breakfast is served in the armory, which, like everything else, just oozed with charm. The front desk staff was courteous and welcoming. Apparently, despite being in a tiny town, the castle is conveniently located for many activities. We were there for genealogy research and it was ideal for us (no, the family would not have lived there--LOL).…
I was staying at this great hotel recently during a program I was participating in teaching conversational English to Czech participants. It is rated at 3 stars, but was close to a 5 star one. It took 10 years to restore the castle and convert to a hotel, and an amazing job was done. The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable, and the hotel also had an excellent restaurant. If you're in the area, you can't go wrong here.
Nice hotel in the old castle. Very nice and large room. Free Wi-Fi. Service nice. Rooms are clean, some bath equipment is not 100%, but working. Restaurant is also good, only service is a little bit slower. Warmly recommended.
Unfortunately, I only spend one night, and couldn't even try the nice SPA. Rooms and the surroundings all have been renovated to look original. The breakfast is a typical Czech breakfast, yummy bread, cheese, sausages, and so on, all in the traditional restaurant. Will definitely return!
Have been in this hotel few times and always had a great food and service, prices are very reasonable , rooms are appsolutely spotless , beds are realy good and the personal ,from the reception to the restaourant just awesome , the owner should be very proud of his employees . Will alway come back.
In December 2015 with two friends of mine we stop there for lunch, great food, first class service, just like it was on my last visit. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get, Same food in Prague will cost you twice as much.
One of the best places we have stayed at.modern facilities in a castle, with chandeliers in rooms and all the trimmings of a chateau.excellent meals, with people coming from miles away to eat or for functions.there were 2 weddings & funeral gathering while we were there but didn't affect our stay. Nice garden with kids play area.great pool with spa to enjoy.great walks around the area & only short distance from local town
Visited restaurant couple times for lunch, food and service was just perfect. Beutiful place. Restaurant has outside and inside kids corner. If we are in the area again we definitely go to this place and recommend everyone to go.
Between 16-21 April 2015 we have celebrated our 25-th wedding anniversary in Chateau Hradek. We have chosen room no.8 in Rococco style - the canopy bed and the bathroom with standalone antique style bath tub were fabulous. The room has been romantically decorated before our arrival and a plate of fruits was waiting too. The welness area and the procedures proposed by the staff have also had their contribution in our full relaxation during the stay. The restaurant was also great - interesting wild meat dishes at affordable price. We would strongly recommend this location whenever you look for a romantic escape, an outdoor holiday or a family reunion.
