Arrived on a sunday afternoon after a lovely flight from heathrow and it was just like coming home, had a wonderful welcome in reception from Michelle, sorted out all our paperwork with a cold flannel in hand and lovely rum punch made by the legend that is Sharon, shown to our room by the polite and lovely young man Rashidi who helped with our cases. We had one of the newer rooms with no kitchenette or lounge but it was really large with plenty of wardrobe space and an amazing large shower room. We were the only ones in the dining room when we had our evening meal as the hotel was so quiet. This was our first time in September so the island is generally quieter. The whole resort was so clean and the gardens such a joy to walk through. We did the glass bottom boat trip which was much shorter than previous years, but still good for a morning out. We went to speightstown a few times and had drinks and lunch near the beach but we found some places very expensive, as was the supermarket we popped in to for some fizzy drinks for the room, eyewateringly expensive in fact, which made us realise the value of the SCC. The food at the hotel was top notch, wonderful and fresh and cooked very well i became addicted to their greek salad with shrimp for lunch. While we were there we ate in the main restaurant for all meals but had one visit to the Chattel bar, which has been expanded and is a lovely place for a meal. I think due to the low number of guests in our first week we did not have a barbecue by the pool which was a bit disappointing as we know how lovely they are, but we certainly did not go hungry and appreciated how hard all the chefs work in producing the lovely tasty soups and main courses etc. The drinks are also very good and again became addicted to the passiontinis and all the other delicious cocktails made by the wonderful Xavier and again Rashidi, these lovely young men made sure that your glass was never empty at any time. It was wonderful to see the Queen that is Tameshia again who made sure that you always had a drink by the pool and who would go that extra mile ensuring you were having a good time both in the restaurants and bar areas, the gentlemen that are Ryan and Gregory who looked after you at meal times were a delight as well. There was a tinge of sadness that the lovely Neil is sadly no longer with us and i did often look at the pool bar with a tear in my eye remembering him and all his wonderful antics. The staff at the SCC make this place the hotel we so love in Barbados. The new beach house was not open but when it is it will be awesome, our shuttle bus driver showed us when dropping us off at the beach. We also met some lovely people as we always do when coming here. Yes there are some little areas that need attention like the pool is showing its age and the showers in the green monkey lounge also but nothing major. My daughter often asks us as do many others why we keep coming back to the same hotel, and the answer is very simple, for 10 days in our lives when we can, we return to a little slice of paradise that is the Sugar Cane Club.

Just returned from my stay here. A much needed trip after a couple of difficult years personally. From the moment we set foot in the place we were made to feel relaxed and at ease. That tone continued throughout our stay. Every member of staff was a delight to deal with, creating an atmosphere as warm as the Barbadian sunshine, Accommodation was great. Spacious, clean and comfortable. The on-site bar and restaurant provided a place to indulge and mingle while eating like superb food. The complex itself is tucked away and set in beautifully maintained gardens which create a sense of enormous wellbeing. While in the post covid environment not all amenities were available, what were exceeded expectations and having been told about the forthcoming plans to open up and expand, we cannot wait to return. The chilled nature of the island was perfectly encapsulated by the resort. I cannot recommend it enough. If you’re seeking a relaxed environment in which to kick back and chill, you cannot find a better venue.

We've just arrived back in the UK after 10 days at the Sugar Cane Club Hotel. It was our first visit to the Island and we were throughly impressed. On arrival, we didn't realise how much we'd appreciate the cool face towel and welcome drink. The staff were all brilliant! We made use of the gym, pool (and pool bar), and free shuttle bus which goes to the beach and Speightstown. The food was lovely too. Highly recommend the Wednesday trip on the glass bottom boat to swim with the turtles and see the reef. We also did the 7 hour sightseeing tour, visiting Harrison Caves, Bathsheba, St Nicholas Abbey and the Barbados Wildlife Reserve. If you haven't been to Barbados before, it's a great way to see some of the beautiful Island and learn more about it. We had a wonderful holiday, thank you to all at the resort for helping make it truly memorable ❤️

Another wonderful holiday at the Sugar Cane. It was great to be back after a two year break. A lovely warm welcome, cooling cold towel and rum punch was the start of a fabulous two week break. The room, food, gardens and pool were all very good as usual. It was so nice to see so many of the staff that we knew from our last visit. They all work very hard to ensure that you have a great holiday. We went out and about on the buses from Speightstown and made use of the hotel shuttle as well as walking to the beach at the bottom of the hill. All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday and look forward to our return.

This was our first hotel stay on Barbados, we normally stay in a villa in the south of the island, but thought we'd experience a hotel for a few days for a special birthday. We didn't regret it. The hotel was spotless, great service, good food. Some might not like not being on the coast, but we had a hire car and only a two minute drive from the ocean. A good relaxing few days, and we'd certainly go back.

We have just returned from a two week holiday to the Sugar Cane hotel in Barbados. I have to say that our time spent there was exceptional. From the moment we arrived we were looked after. Karene and Leo welcomed us with a cooling rum punch. The check-in process was quick and efficient, and the hotel having previously been asked by me, placed a retirement banner and fizz in our room to welcome us. As this was my wife’s retirement holiday. The rooms are a good size and are clean. The air conditioning was perfect considering the heat we encountered in Barbados. The room itself was cleaned every third day which makes a lot of sense. The hotel itself is quiet with about 56 units which meant that there was always plenty of room around the pool and acquiring a sunbed in or out of the shade was never an issue. The food provided by the hotel was truly fantastic. The pepperpot was exceptional and I can understand why the chef would not want to share the recipe!! The service provided by the staff in the hotel was 2nd to none. Gregory, Tamishea, Sharon, Alice and Junior in the restaurant were always so welcoming. Xavier managed the pool bar with help from Ricardo and James. The cocktails and cool beers kept flowing. Michelle on reception was always helpful. The hotel ran an excursion on a glass bottomed boat each Wednesday and we took the opportunity to swim with turtles and stingrays. Tremaine ran a shuttle service throughout the day up and down to Speightstown. Our holiday included a complimentary 30 minute massage in the spa which was wonderful. We were all inclusive. However this did not mean that there was a constant unlimited supply of food and snacks throughout the day but that did not bother us. Breakfast was more than good, lunch was served either in the restaurant or by the pool and dinner in the evening was the choice of two restaurants or on a number of occasions a barbecue around the pool. I could not fault the food or service. The general managers Jacob and Geoff were very engaging and spent time providing very useful information about what to see and do on the island. We actually met the hotel owner Mr Weatherhead and his wife who was very nice to us. Entertainment was provided on a number of evenings. One in particular, Alan, who is a one man band performed on Thursdays. He was rather cheesy but great entertainment! We toured the island using a hire car which is the best way. A three day hire for us only cost 300 barbarian dollars. We used a car hire firm called MAH. I would encourage you to use the bus system also including the reggae bus. It is an experience! $3.50 for any journey regardless of distance. The WiFi in the hotel and on the island generally was really good. Connectivity was never an issue. The sugarcane hotel is quiet in comparison to some of the hotels in Holetown which is about a 20 minute bus ride away. If you’re looking for peace and Tranquility and a place to relax and eat well then the sugar cane is the place for you.

Just returned from our 3rd visit to Sugar Cane Club (our happy place!!) We had postponed our holiday for 2 years so this was a long time coming. We have to accept we are in a post pandemic world and did notice changes but accept this is likely the new norm. Missed not having manager’s cocktail party as in previous visits but hopefully once restrictions are lifted these can once again be started especially as they have new management team. The staff make this place so special and being recognised on our first dining experience really made our day. There are so many staff that we could mention that went above and beyond but a few name checks.. Gregory,( always cheerful at meal times) Tameshia,( always goes above and beyond) Xavier,( made the best cocktails and never seemed to stand still) Kevin the pool guy, ( always made sure out sun beds were ready) also Ricardo, Rashid and Leeann also provided exceptional service. Food is still great with a varied menu for 4 evenings at either Le Salsa restaurant or Chattels and 3 nights are buffet nights. Just a small criticism - we are not buffet people and last time we had option of dining at the 2nd Chattels restaurant but sadly this was not the case this time. Room is serviced every 3 days but should you want extra towels you just need to ask! Grounds and gardens are well tended to. People do mention the more older guest ( not that I am that young!!) we discovered that Saga do list this hotel as part of a Caribbean itinerary with a sister hotel in St Lucia at certain points of the year. Sugar cane is a real family feel hotel and every guest new or old is part of the extended SCC family. We will definitely return in the future.

We stayed at the Sugar Cane Club in January, it was just the relaxing break we needed after a couple of difficult years. It is off the beaten track and very quiet, the grounds are kept in beautiful condition by the gardeners. The food was plentiful and tasty, there were a fews issues for us as my wife is gluten intolerant but this was eventually resolved. Overall we thought it was good value for money and very clean and tidy, not the place if you want nightlife and bars but if you are looking for peace and tranquility you will find it here. There is a regular free shuttle to the beach or into Speightstown if you don't like walking too far.
