We had previously stayed elsewhere in Ypres and when they couldn't accommodate us for a whole week they recommended their friends at Varlet Farm and the Farm has become are place of choice and not just for the apple pie served on arrival! To be able to stay within easy reach of Ypres with very accommodating hosts who are a...

Our stay was pleasant, our hosts were friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming and focused on meeting our needs. The room was clean and well looked after. The area was charming. We've stayed here twice before and both times the experience was outstanding.

A great return visit to Varlet Farm. Splendid hosts and a really good place, and base, to stay. Beyond the normal draw of the immense history in the area, a few miles further afield will get you to Bruges, the coast and all that has to offer. Barbara and Dirk were their normal great selves with nothing too much trouble....

One of our most favourite locations stayed in during a month trip to Europe September 2016. All the reviews that reflect so positively on the hospitality, meals and facilities are richly deserved. We stayed in the former "horse stable" area that has been so marvellously renovated to a huge and spacious modern room. So nice in comparison to the cramped...

As part of a longer trip to revisit the old RAF bases around the Dutch/German border, myself, my two sisters and my parents wanted to call by the Tyne Cot memorial where we have family named. We were lucky enough to find this gem of a bed and breakfast for a night, and I have to admit I was sorry...

As always an excellent welcome from Dirk and Barbara. Excellent rooms, spotlessly clean. I Can highly recommend Varlet Farm. As usual breakfast also provided the makings of a pack up for lunch. This is without doubt the place to stay in the Salient.

I had the pleasure of staying at Varlet Farm again over the weekend of the 30th September till the 2nd October 2016. As before I was warmly welcomed by my host, Dirk with a slice of warm home made apple pie and a cup of tea. Checking into my room it was up to the usual excellent standard of cleanliness...
