Stayed with Dirk and Barbara for the first time in coming on 10 years. The great thing is nothing has changed. The same great greeting, lovely cosy clean rooms and same great hearty breakfast. Always a fantastic B&B to stay at if you in in the Ypres area. Fantastic area if you are visiting the battlefields.

Cracking BnB a little to the east of Ypres, that I have stayed at before and would not hesitate to stay at again. In fact, I wouldn't even bother looking elsewhere if Varlet farm wasn't available; I'd rather change my holiday dates instead. Clean, welcoming, relaxed and perfectly located, Dirk and Barbara make everyone feel at home, including speaking excellent... More

Dirk and Barbara as always don't disappoint, clean beds, cosy rooms, epic breakfast and welcomed as friends. A truly fantastic place to stay for visits to Ypres and the surrounding areas. A pleasure to visit as ever, i'll be back again without a doubt. If you're on motorcycles they even have a place to stay in overnight.. Not sure how... More

Located directly on the former WWI battlefield, this friendly bed and breakfast is a perfect spot to explore the Great War. The owners are super nice and set a fabulous breakfast table for all guests so you can meet and talk with other travelers. We stayed here 15 years ago and again this summer (2016). There is a new addition... More

Several of us visited Varlet Farm on a four day break (Motorcyclists). We stayed in the renovated stables which I must say was first class. The room and on suite bathroom was very well appointed and comfortable a far better standard that I would have expected from a bed and breakfast. The businesses is run by Dirk and his family... Great place. Dirk and his daughter Barbara run a terrific B&B - friendly, clean and very comfortable. This is on the battlefields for those touring, quite near Tyne Cot but a drive to Ypres. Comfortable, clean rooms and everything you need at an honest price

Fantastic place Dirk and Barbara are great, When we arrived met with a big smile and a pot of tea and apple pie, always a big smile and chat from them both, full of great information. Great place full of character, full of history a display in one of the barns of WW1 artefacts. Good rooms. Don't think just book... More

Dirk and his daughter Barbara made us all feel very welcome. The breakfasts were excellent, including enough for a packed lunch (cling film provided), the rooms are spacious and clean and the lounge area is well stocked with Belgium beer and WW1 books, mostly in English. Also included are bikes should you wish to explore the nearby area and a... More

Fantastic accommodation and hospitality. Dirk & Barbara made you feel at home and were most obliging, friendly and very informative about the area especially as the farm is situated in the Passendale Battlefield. Would not hesitate to go back in the not too distant future.
