wonderful and extremely good guest house. Beautiful room, very clean and homely. Warm room with comfortable and generous facilities, very thoughtful, lovely comfy bed and plenty of bathroom towels and soaps etc. Beautifully cooked breakfast with good quality food and all the trimmings. definitely recommend this.

You will be welcomed at the door to this delightful guest house. Inside a careful eye has set an old building to its rightful estate. However the accommodation will meet the exacting standards of a modern traveller. Unusually the first nights sleep was as good as any at home, recommendation in itself. A good breakfast awaits. The location, not far... More

Loved this place. Quiet location, but near to main road. Room was small but had all one needed, including bathrobe. Shared bathroom but no problem. Loved the warmth of the place, it was very welcoming and lots of knick-knacks and interesting pictures etc dotted around. Bed was extremely comfortable as was the pillows. Breakfast was ordered night before and was... More

This was a one night stay to break the journey from York to Portsmouth. As noted by numerous reviewers this is a truly exceptional guest house. We were greeted in the garden by the ebullient host Mike and shown to our large and opulent room. The decadent and atmospheric bedroom and the wonderfully equipped en suite typified the care and... We booked an overnight stay, the rooms were decorated to a high standard and very comfortable. Breakfast table was comparable to a 5* hotel if not better, perfect little butterballs, which I understand Mike is famous for. The presentation of food excellent, everything you could want, my grapefruit was a work of art. Probably the best b&b we have stayed... More

We stayed just one night in this beautiful guesthouse. The owners are a smashing couple who made us feel very at home. Our room had everything we could possibly need and it was spotlessly clean. With a comfortable bed and a gorgeous bathroom, we were very relaxed and able to thoroughly enjoy the luxurious surroundings. The breakfast was excellent and... More

A historical building with fantastic decoration and one-of-a-kind host making sure every single bit of the service is impeccable. The rooms are unique, very clean and very interestingly decorated. I stayed on a business trip in room #2 (yes the numbers matter) with king size bed. The room is huge with big bathroom and antique furniture. When signing in the... More

I can't believe how lucky we were to find this place. We wanted overnight accommodation near Newark. This is about five minutes drive away. It is on a residential street so very quiet. We had booked the king size deluxe room which was massive. Furnishings were beautiful. The bed was so comfy we were tempted to stay forever. En suite... More

We required a half way house for a long trip and we were greeted with hugely friendly hosts who showed us to our room. They explained everything very eloquently and had a few jokes along the way which was nice after a long road trip. The room itself was very quaint and picturesque, with no sound complaints and nice added... More

Right from the moment we pulled into the driveway, we were impressed. The welcome we received was warm and friendly. The room we stayed in was spotless and very comfortable. The decor of the entire building was fantastic. As for the breakfast, it has to be one of the best ive ever had, all ingredients were fresh and the full... More
