Since our last visit the pub has new hosts in Kev and Jo. Like our previous visits everything was perfectly presented. Excellent room with everything we needed (a couple more coat hangers in the wardrobe would have been useful), spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. In fact everything for a good night's rest. Breakfast was great and plentiful. We cannot speak... More

A lovely village pub, with bright clean comfortable rooms (the bed felt like you were sleeping on a cloud). The landlord was probably the most helpful I have ever met. We were able to get lunch 'just' after service time, which was very tasty and presented very nicely. Breakfast was wonderful. I

Four of us stayed in the village for 3 nights had planned to eat at Boot & Shoe each night. However on the first night at dinner we had 3 main meals that were good but the lasagna my wife ordered was dry with undercooked pasta topping.I accept that we should have complained immediately rather than leave it until we... What a friendly welcome we had from the young barmaid, Im so sorry but I didnt get your name. A very friendly and helpful young lady. Our room, number 3 was lovely. Very clean with an extra comfy bed and an en suite shower room. Only one little niggle, the toilet faced a wall with not alot of space in... More

This was a lucky shot in the dark for us on a last minute weekend break to Newark. My husband knew the area as a boy and wanted to eat near Elston where we were staying. We booked thinking it would be busy , but the pub was comfortably uncrowded. Our table was in a quiet corner without loud background... More

Pleasant village pub with BB. No facilities close by. You need to drive. Clean comfy bed. Nice sized room. Twin beds. Bathroom small and compact. Shower needed a clean and door opens inwards not the easiest shower to use.no power in the shower. Locals use the pub though friendly they dominate the bar. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, good food for dinner in the pub. We stayed in a twin room, the en suite was fine, tea and coffee in room, beds comfy, very quiet overnight. Very nice breakfast that we ordered the night before.

My husband and I stayed here with our dogs, (which we kept in a large crate in our room) between shows. Firstly we Had to clean the shower and toilet before use. The owners made no attempt to make us feel welcome. They were polite but unfriendly. The bar maid however was lovely but was only there in the afternoon... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Boot and Shoe Inn sits in the conservation village of Flintham on the edge of the Vale of Belvoir. Parts of the inn date back to the 17th century and we are great believers in tradition - we concentrate on traditional ales and homemade food. The village is very quiet so you are assured of a good nights sleep but within a 15 to 20 minute drive there are a host of attractions for you to enjoy. ... more   less
