Booked our stay at the Sijori Resort and Spa, Batam and did not receive any call, email or text message from the hotel that they are closed. Ended up waited for the hotel pickup at the ferry terminal on the day of check-in for an hour. Then board a taxi to the resort only to get a rude shock the hotel has closed. Called and emails to Agoda did not receive any response. Amazingly, Agoda even sent me a email to rate this resort a few days later! Indeed a testimony to all their good customer services, both Sijori Resort Singapore office and Agoda!

Booked the hotel in July 2019, only to receive an email from the hotel 5 days prior to our stay stating that they are cancelling all bookings. Read a review that they are shut, perhaps for good. And all hotels and resorts in Batam are fully booked! There goes the holiday... On behalf of the children, thank you sijori!

Slow and indifferent service from the staff. The bed is very comfortable but the amenities are not replenished every day. Need reminders. The resort has signs of neglect in some corners. Food at restaurant is not good. Better off heading out to eat.

This hotel has so much potential ....and yet it currently misses the mark. Blessed with lovely grounds, including a fishing pond as well as a good-sized leisure pool, there's nothing wrong with their ambition - hydroponic garden, a hillside cafe, a roof top bar and a sunken pool bar....they're just not ready (Or finished). There is a spa centre which is nice but no gym - probably part of the wellness centre that's under construction. The room was spacious and well-appointed (need to remember to check the remote, folks when you detail a room), but a balcony without balcony furniture is a bit pointless. The changing room by the pool needs a couple of benches and some hooks, otherwise changing on thete is a bit tricky and upstairs by tour cafe, three out of four stalls had no toilet paper. However, what really lets you down is the food. It takes too long to deliver - even a coffee - and is poorly cooked and presented. Golden potatoes are crinkle cut chips and I wonder how much comes out of a packet or a freezer - you need to get yourself a proper chef who can cook with fresh ingredients. Despite the disappointments, I did enjoy my stay. Shame you didn't have the lava cake - it was my birthday.

The view is great. The rooms are top class. The facilities are good. However, it’s definitely not suitable for those who are looking for a vacation who wants plenty of activities. The resort is hidden in a quiet corner of the island, nowhere near any major shopping or tourist attractions. Great if you want a place to recharge and reflect. The food is the biggest letdown, limited selection and waiting time of 20 minutes or longer to find the food is average at best.
