Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Nestled in proximity to the Grand Canyon, Yavapai Lodge garners praise for its prime location and shuttle access, offering a comfortable and clean, albeit rustic, atmosphere. While the rooms are generally viewed as basic yet tidy, some guests have called out their dated nature and the occasional lack of maintenance. The service at the lodge earns mixed reviews, ranging from commendations for the friendly staff to criticisms regarding check-in difficulties and unresponsiveness. Although the lodge's value is debated—with some citing reasonable pricing and others pointing to high costs for basic offerings—travelers often appreciate the convenience it provides.

We stayed here for two nights , spacious room comfortable bed, with the advantage of free parking right outside the room. Set in the grand canyon national park, ideal for access to the south rim, easy walk up to the visitors centre also has a good shuttle bus service. Down side was the restaurant kitchen was being refurbished whilst we were there so the food service was somewhat limited.

Property's Favorite Review
I was very pleasantly surprised when we got to our room. Lovely updated room, but the bathroom you could tell hadn't been updated. But it was clean, the beds are huge, the pillows are so snuggly. Great forest view out of our window. One downside.... the cleaners do come quite early on. We had the do not disturb sign on there .... but it can be quite noisy with people coming and going. WiFi is hit and miss, facilities are brilliant, staff are lovely.... I just couldn't eat the food, but that's not the fault of the restaurants. I have even struggled to eat a McDonald's (sorry usa.... think my taste buds are stuck on british) We spent 5 nights here, could probably have done all we wanted to in less, but the altitude turned us out the first couple of days, so that's something to think of.

Four star rates for a two star accommodation. Don’t bother arriving early for check in; check in starts at 3, and that’s THAT. But hey, at least you’re inside the park. No luggage carts, and it's a LONG way to the door. And if you're on the second floor? No elevator. Theadbare carpets, so don't go barefoot. The best thing I can say is that the towels were plentiful and the bed was comfortable. You’d be much better off renting an RV and camping. That way, you’d have your own food, because the dining options here stink, and everything costs double the normal price.

NOT worth it! Booked and charged through Expedia. Hotel then took another credit card for incidentals and charged for 1 night and is now saying we were a "no show". Hotel was clean but below average for the price we paid and with all this extra work to try and get my money back from being charged twice, it was NOT worth it.

Very basic room for the price. The agent who checked me in at 1:45 asked his supervisor Mary-Jo if he could check me in early since the room was ready she rudely replied no. This Mary-Jo person should not be in the hospitality business with this unpleasant attitude, teach her to smile or give her a job at local prison as a guard! Checkout time is 11:30 but housekeeping knocked at our door at 8:45 to see if we were still there. The bed is end of life so is the bathroom. The only positive thing is that it is within the Grand Canyon park. Really not worth the price as a hotel room.

We stayed two nights in the west lodge recently with family. Very basic motel but reasonable price and comfortable and quiet. Easy access to very good bar and deli food at the lodge and market, wait time was not excessive. Easy shuttle access and easy 10 minute walk to the canyon rim trail, do it early morning and evening without the typical GCNP crowds of people. I was very impressed with the efficiency and great attitude of every single person I encountered working here.

Nice clean room and comfortable bedding. Convenient location next to restaurants and grocery store that had a place to get a good breakfast to start your day.. Friendly staff. When checking in provide a map and tell you best places to go to for sunrise and sunset viewing with the times. Very helpful. Very peaceful. Would recommend this lodge.

Some upgrades were done which I like and did not expect for a 'Lodge' inside a National Park. Although the rooms on the 2nd level will be quieter but you will need to haul your luggage through the stairs. Breakfast is only offered at the cafe which is a bit slow as everyone wants a good hot breakfast before going onto their adventures inside the Park. Dinner is alright as the Tavern is ok but again need to line up quite a bit to order food.

Yavapai Lodge is a great place to stay. Be aware it is not “in the village” but just down the road. Make sure to check out the Yavapai Geology museum- fantastic views! The dining hall was closed for improvements so we decided to drive down to the Maswik Lodge for breakfast before doing the Bright Angel trail (partially closed because of water construction project)

Have stayed here multiple times before or after hikes for one night. Very good value. Near the general store for grabbing items before or after hike. It’s no frills but clean. Perfect for one night. I do prefer the single level units over the multi floor units
