The cute Hotel Garni is located in the old picturesque center of Gordevio in the Maggia Valley a mere 10 minutes away from Locarno and Ascona. The historical patrician house has been built towards the end of the 19th century and since been carefully renovated by Silivia Beerli to maintain its original character. Casa Ambica is situated in calm and sunny surroundings and captivates through its unique grace and delightful ambiance.

Casa Ambica is in the middle of a small village in the Valle Maggia. There is hardly any traffice in the village, making it a very quiet place. Our room was on top right under the roof (mind your head). It had lovely furniture which made it very cosy. A comfortable double bed and on request an extra mattress as we were three persons. There were chairs, couch, couch table, bedside tables, TV, safe and a small closet. There was also a kettle and supplies to make your own tea in the room. The bathroom was modern. Everything was spotless clean. The view from the window over the village was really nice. Breakfast was served in the lovely garden of the hotel. There were lots of goodies to choose from. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and I hope I will come back one day.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house with its peaceful garden situated in a typical old Ticine village. Sylvia is a very gracious host and her husband Fausto is a sculptor whose interesting work is displayed in the garden . The interior of the house is very comfortable with artworks everywhere. Breakfast is a true feast , eaten outdoors during our stay; organic homemade jams and dried fruits accompanying all the fresh cheeses, meats etc . Sylvia was able to give us information on local walks ( lending us a map) , restaurants etc. we would very much recommend Casa Ambica for a peaceful stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Casa Ambica. It's a beautiful house in a beautiful location and the perfect place if you want to go mountaineering. We got a lot of advice from the owner lady where to go, she borrowed us her maps, got perfect breakfast, free access to coffee and tee. We really enjoyed our stay in Casa Ambica.

The Casa Ambica is a charming small hotel only ten minutes away from the Lago Maggiore and the beautiful city centers of Ascona and Locarno. The hotel is located in the quiet and characteristic village Gordevio in the Valle Maggia. From Gordevio it is only half an hour by car to the beautiful mountain landscape near Fusio, Bosco Gurin and other small monumental villages. The ambiance in the Casa Ambica is peaceful and comfortable. The hotel has a serene garden tastefully ornamented with figures and statues realized by one one of the owners. The other owner, Silvia Beerli, takes care of every small detail that makes her guests feel at ease. Everything - the decoration, the cherry wood floors, the breakfast with biological products, the facility to make your own coffee or tea and much, much more is done with an eye for detail. Added to this the very reasonable prices, makes the Casa Ambica the perfect location to discover Ticino!

An exceptional house at the upper end of a small village at the lower end of the Maggia Valley in Tessin. Very comfortable with all the amenities including free tea, coffee and Snacks! The Hostess provides a complete and original breakfast and is a good valley guide if you don't know it. The drawback is that it lies a good Kilometer and about 40 meters higher than the busstop (hourly in both directions). If you don't have a car (good for you!) then be fit. And Restaurants are not prevalent in the area but luckily a fine litte local one is only 10 minutes by foot.

What a wonderful experience I shared at Casa Ambica! I was on vacation and accompanying some family members to a business meeting they had arranged in this charming town. Unfortunately, I was under the weather and decided to stay behind at this B&B so as not to hamper their plans. Everyone felt sorry for me... Well, I had the time of my life! The lovely owners, Silvia and Fausto, showed me a fabulous day. I sat in their garden which could only be compared to a slice of paradise...gorgeous flowers, fabulous sculptures, and bells peeling from the church next door. At lunch time, Silvia and Fausto invited me to join them for a delicious repast. The food was excellent, on top of their fabulous breakfast, and it felt charming to sit in the sunshine and enjoy their company. After lunch, Silvia offer to take me to Asconda for a visit to another precious town. We walked along the waterfront, visited tiny shops, and then she treated me to refreshing gelato. We sat and visited like sisters. Upon returning to the B&B, my ride home was delayed and so Silvia kept me company while I waited. She, basically, devoted her whole day to a guest, extending checkout time, feeding me, and escorting me on a sightseeing adventure....never charging me a dime!! Hospitality doesn't get any better than this!!! My trip to Switzerland was marvelous, and this side trip to Casa Ambica created memories I will always cherish. Silvia and Fautso Beerli are gracious, kind and generous people. I would wholeheartly recommend a stay in their home...

Yes indeed this place is a superb and well renovated charming B&B located in a small village in the italian part of Switzerland. The breakfast is rich and abundant in other words excellent. However the owner Sylvia is not very friendly. I was a little surprised because for me a B&B should be a warm and welcoming place not an impersonal place.
