After a rough start, it turned out to be a nice stay thanks to some very dedicated professionals at the resort. 'll start with the negative stuff, get it out of the way. We were part of a group of 16, all family. We got rooms ranging from Preferred Club to the "Tropical View" rooms. The preferred level on the sixth floor is incredible, worth the splurge. Since we saw what the other options entail, we would recommend the preferred level. So, if you can afford it, go this route... better views, more amenities such as robes, slippers and snacks that are constantly replenished. Upon check in, our relatives were given rooms that reeked of mold/humidity. Front desk response was simply to "open the sliding glass door for a few hours and let it vent out." Didn't work, had to ask for another room since my nephew has a mold allergy. Second room had no view, something that our relatives paid extra for, no refund was offered. In another room, it flooded after fridge broke down. Relatives told to vacate while they fixed the issue. Not what you want to hear when you're tired of traveling all day and want to rest. We noticed tropical views and partial-ocean views mean rooms in lower floors with obstructed views and noise from pool and lobby areas, even at night when they have bands and entertainment. Food is pretty good overall, although nothing that can be enjoyed poolside, All food must be consumed in the cafes around the pool areas. Not a big deal. We had two big issues that you need to be aware off. Yes, people do wake up early to reserve chairs, we did. Towel distribution begins at 7 a.m. The first day we were there, we set aside six chairs, we could've done more, but out of consideration for others, we only did half a dozen. Went upstairs, got ready, had breakfast and spent a great day by the pool. Second day, we did same thing, but this time, after breakfast, all out stuff was gone and others were sitting in our chairs. We were told by those folks, they gave money to one of the employees to "find them chairs." They were given ours. The pool person in charge said people are allotted only 30 minutes, which may be true, but it's a policy not always enforced or selectively applied. There were others, because I saw them in the morning, and their chairs lay empty and personal belongings untouched by staff. Then they guy said our stuff, gathered by him, had been left over night, total falsehood. He also said he had taken away several items from other guests, total B.S. because at the area where things were placed, only had our items. When we approached the people who got our chairs, they said they had paid to get those spots, but the pool person said they never take bribes or payments, which we know is not true. Just totally ticked us off as he tried to justify his actions. Then he and another young man said they could give us other "unattended chairs" from another spot to give us those chairs, something we declined. We weren't going to ruin someone else's day like ours had been. Third day, I stayed with our chairs and towels. At 8 a.m. another employee came around and asked if I was reserving the chairs, I said I was. He then said he would give me 30 minutes to find at least two others to babysit the chairs or we would have to give them up. I told him to leave me alone, he wasn't going to make money off me. He said one person is required for every two chairs set aside. Again, total B.S. as he was probably hunting for places he could "sell" to other guests. Management needs to enforce this policy squarely. Signs need to be placed at the towel distribution area with the rules. It can't be arbitrarily. Also, only the main pool has music. We had a small speaker, blue tooth-connected to a phone so we could hear some tunes. It was low and very mellow. One day, no one cared. But the following day, pool security pounced on us. They tried to explain the music could be a bother to others, but we made it a point to ask others, and they didn't have a problem. In fact, they welcomed the music. Staff said rules are rules and to turn it off. Bummer, we complied, but this is something that might merit a change in policy. On the positive side, we must happily mentioned several employees who just went above the call of duty. Julio, one of the supervisors who oversees waiters at the restaurants, was just incredible making our stay truly memorable. What a kind, considerate and courteous man he is. Julio made sure our meals were first rate with service to match. Can't say enough good things about him. Maite, Eddie, Alberto took care of us poolside with non-stop drink deliveries and jokes. Great people!! José the bartender at the Sea Side Grill deserves a pat on the back too. Enerio, one of the servers at the poolside restaurants was just fantastic and a true gentleman. Muchas gracias Enerio!!! Alexis too. If it weren't for this group, we likely never come back to Dreams. Now, thanks to them, we want to return just for the chance of interacting with them again. We'll miss them in the meantime. Japanese restaurant was very good, sushi very tasty and fresh. The BBQ pork ribs were surprisingly delicious and tender. Other restaurants were good too. We did not try Italian since it has a dress code and no kids are allowed. The Asado night was great, plenty of options. The Mexican night was also quite good. The hotel itself is about 15-20 minutes from the airport, easy ride. Downtown Huatulco is also a short cab ride that costs 60 pesos. Bay, beach, activities on the water top rate, take out a kayak, safe and fun. It's free. We stayed at the Secrets down the road last November, but this place is far and away better in terms of service and food.

We love this resort! This was our 5th visit to this resort and we love it more & more every time. The staff is absolutely amazing! It is so nice to see all the familiar faces year after year. We have tried 3 other resorts in the Huatulco area and this is by far the best location, food and service we have experienced. From the concierge to the servers to the cooks, they are all excellent! Daniel, Fernando and Lirio helped us out immensely when we had to make a room change. We can’t thank them enough! The service on the beach was exceptional. We never had to wait for a drink, our severs were always very attentive. Thanks to Elijio, Eddie and Primmi for drink service with a smile!

Dreams Huatulco is the perfect place for families and couples alike. They have thought of it all! They have a wonderful kids club where kids can enjoy fun and unique activities with other kids and parents can enjoy the many pools and adventure activities right from the beach. The rooms are clean and the service is top notch. I would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone with or without kids.

This resort is situated in a very beautiful, enclosed bay area with crashing waves and rocky protruding little inlets. The beach shoes are sandy and gorgeous. The resort offers activities, and three infinity pools, one of them being an adult only swimming pool. The tourists are mostly Mexican. And if you care for the beach, mostly, then you will have a great time. The activities run by in the entertainment team, or quite awesome, once a day in the middle of the heat, they would get everybody up and moving in the swimming pools with loud music.

Concierge Paulo was very helpful, was there for every question or concern and dealt with our issues immediately. Julio was fantastic as well . Resort very clean , staff are always seen cleaning. Coco cafe staff were amazing and friendly love being able to grab a coffee or smoothie anytime and a treat to go with it. House keeping wasn’t on there game though some days forgot to take towels or leave them but room was always clean and looked after. Beaches are beautiful and so many types of fish and ocean life to see when snorkeling. Great time will do it again

We agree with everybody else's reviews, this is just a near-perfect resort. Great dining, great staff, entertainment, and great pools. Saw turtles being released, felt a small earthquake, saw iguanas, a trained hawk, and lots of fish. The wi-fi speed is adequate, the elevators were never busy, and the nightly room turndown was always nice to come home to. Download the World of Hyatt app and everything you need about the resort is there. I used the maintenance link to report an electric outlet that wouldn't reset, it was fixed within the hour (at 7:30 at night). Our favorite restaurant was Himitsu. Manager Diego has the best staff of all, so good that we went there 4 times in 10 days. Try a Spanish coffee after your meal!
