Fantastic view. Worth the experience with the road. We made a reservation for a table at the restaurant, a day before arriving. It was easy because we used their site for booking. The waiters were nice. The road was accessible even with a smaller car.

The entire experience was so refreshing and unique. The location is on top of a hill with breathtaking views of the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountain ranges. The accommodation looks like it was taken from a fairytale, designed in a minimalistic unique way, yet verry homey and comfortable. Our stay took place in late March, when the snow layer was still significant. The personal was kind enough to arrange transportation, both at arrival and departure, from the main road up to the mountain (our vehicle was not able to make the "climb", a 4X4 was necessary). The restaurant has a intimate atmosphere with panoramic views. Its interior is build as a nature hut with a central fireplace (unfortunately didn't see in "action", maybe next time). The breakfast(s) and dinner(s) were exquisite, incredibly tasty and artistically served. On top of all this, the place is home to several lovely pets, such as Zina and Boris the cats, as well as Agartha, Vulpita (in English Foxy) and Hoinarul (in English the Wonderer - name given by us!). So, if you would like to enjoy your meals in the company of cuddling animals (not mandatory :)), surrounded by spectacular views and with one of the most hospitable personal, then Amfiteatrul Transilvania is the place to go! Off course, the price "reflects" the trumps.

We went to Amfiteatrul Transilvania in September 2020 and it was an amazing holiday. Due to this fact, we decided to come back this year as well. Still, sadly to notice, something happened during the meantime… Personally, I think too much fame sometimes affects the customer care area if you don’t realize it and it brings a negative image upon your business. So, we should have been at Amfiteatrul Transilvania on the 2nd of August and, two weeks before arriving, they called me at 8PM (?!?), requesting me to pay, as if I had already left and hadn’t paid… I couldn’t believe first of all the inappropriate timeframe and, secondly, I made a comparison in my mind with the hotels in other countries which I visited, which allowed me to pay even when leaving. Anyhow, I paid them that very evening, still eagerly waiting for my trip on August the 2nd. Today is the 30th of July, which means we should’ve left in two days from now. I was checking Instagram and, by coincidence, I saw they posted a story. As I usually like their stories, as they contain beautiful landscapes, I checked this one also and I was amazed to see it was actually an announcement, saying the location will be closed starting today for an indefinite period, due to a storm which took place last night and which affected the road to the location (which is extremely poor and hard to drive on already). The first question which came to my mind was “why didn’t they call me this time, as they called me last time to send them the money?” Maybe now it wasn’t relevant… So, I called and a girl answered. I must add the fact that their employees are somewhere from Chisinau or something and their Romanian is beyond poor – she didn’t even know how to explain to me, in my own language, what happened to the road and what’ll happen from then on. She said I have to wait for them to call. Ok…wait, but until when? And what happens if they call me on Sunday and tell me I can’t come the next day? It’s about a holiday I was waiting for quite a long time… However, we thought and, in the end, we actually decided to cancel and ask them to give the money back. While checking on Booking I already found five amazing places to choose from and which would welcome us next week. Sad but true – Amfiteatrul Transilvania already has these minus points from me: - Inexplicable despair in calling and asking for money two weeks before coming. - Not letting their customers know the location will be closed when in two days the customers have to be there (?!?) Are you for real? - Employees with poor Romanian language. We live in Romania, in case you forgot! At least hire someone who correctly speaks this language. - Poor road up to the location, which is indeed amazing, but all the above notes bring a shadow of mistrust from now on and I don’t think I’ll ever go back there.

The view is to die for which is to be expected. The road up is a bit challenging so don't bring a car that is lowered. Preferred is a 4x4 for comfortable driving. That said, I saw Dacia Logan taxis coming up as well as a nice Lexus Sedan. During winter I understand that they pick up guests and drive them. Still I enjoyed the drive as a small adventure in itself. :) Enough about the road. The view, as my title say, was amazing. You can see far and wide. The open grassland covering the hills around is full of wild flowers and bees which very natural and beautiful. If you like animals then you have a "random horse", as I like to call it, roaming around the property. He is all over and can be found outside your house or on the hills. The horse is easy going and nice. There are also a herd of goats roaming around. They are a bit more suspicious but otherwise all good. The rooms are very bohemian and are very simple. They are clean and functional however. The rooms don't have any AC. If you are afraid of bugs I guess you should not stay here as it is very close to nature and all that comes with it. The bed was a bit hard to my taste but sufficient. Foodwise I think they are ok. Nothing bad, but nothing to make me curious either. My personal suggestion would be to come up for an hour or two. Have lunch. Maybe walk the paths around to enjoy the beautiful landscape. There are bears in the area. The day before our visit two of the goats previously mentioned were done in by a bear.

The reservation sistem is easy to use. Just a call and all done. We arrived here by car even if in the winter it can be a bit difficult (depends on the cars). The view are amazing, the food is traditional, a little bit expensive but the road and the place is amazing We were delighted by this place,

The hotel is located in a fabulous area. We were in winter and it is necessary to have a 4x4 car to be able to reach the top. If you do not have this possibility, the hotel will provide transportation from Moeciu (via a telephone appointment). I appreciated the design of the rooms and the extraordinary landscapes. The food is also specific to Bessarabian (Republic of Moldova), using quality products. We recommend that the restaurant be warmer (in the winter months).

We have arrived at 9 o'clock pm, hungry after a long day, they did not announced prior that the kitchen will be closed when we'll arrive. When we asked what we can eat, they've announced that the kitchen is closed and that if we want, we can drink something. After 15-20 minutes my girlfriend asked if they have any snack because we have to eat something, they've told us that they will do one "exception" and we can order a dessert, my girlfriend ordered, I didn't. After another 15 minutes they told us that they will do the second exception and we can order a mix of cheese, maybe because they have given the dessert to the couple from the next table, because my girlfriend didn't received it anymore. They could have given us the cheese in the first 5 minutes after arriving and all this non-profesional behaviour, plus the 40 minutes of waiting, would have been avoided. The location of the complex is perfect but the arhitecture of the buildings and the interior design are not connected with the enviorment, a very bad choise. The price is too big for that rooms and for sure too big for the services.

We’ve wanted from a while to arrive at this location.the photos from instagram were eye-catching. We’ve made a reservation for a table on a Saturday and we’ve decided to go. The road almost killed our car - a Ford Ranger. We’ve seen on the road smaller cars however it is not a road for a smaller car. You should be prepared for dirt. The parking space is not near to the restaurant and till the restaurant be prepared for a 5 minute walk on an alee full of dirt. The food was not the best and the dishes are very small. Prices are high however you should take into consideration that it costs to transport everything there. The only nice thing is indeed the view. Staff is not friendly and you do not feel comfortable at the table. For sure we will not go there. It was an experience not to be repeated

Except for the view which is great the whole experience was overpriced and we would not recommend. Rooms are small and basic with everything around out of painted plastic even the sink and our room was a bigger one not the small version. Food is overpriced and especially the coffee. Ladies serving in the restaurant were nice however there are people from management it seemed or their friends walking around inside the restaurant without observing the protection measures. No onr came in 3 days to clean the room. Road up to the place is in very poor condition so make sure your car can handle it.
