We stayed at Angsana for our honeymoon and it was a slice of paradise for 10 days and nothing to find fault with. We stayed in a beach villa with view of the sunset every evening. From the second we stepped off the plane in Male, the staff couldn't have been more attentive. To call out just a few of the staff that made us feel incredible special and well looked after -Nushad in the buffet, Shibin, Ajmal and Sreenath in the bar ensuring we were very well hydrated, Sajwan and Rohim the buffet Chefs, Ageel for the daily snorkel trips, Naeem the grounds keeper and Azee in housekeeping and Ayaaz on reception. The staff really did make the holiday even more special so thank you all very much, we really hope to come back one day.

Wow what an amazing place! There is virtually nothing to find fault with. The staff are the absolute heartbeat of this resort and provide truly outstanding service. From arrival on the seaplane - which is really fun and very well organised- you feel truly welcomed. A WhatsApp group is created so information is shared with you but also to provide a quick way to communicate with the staff. In arrival you also get a sorbet and cold towel which was much appreciated. Alina showed us around and our room which was a lovely way to get orientated. We had a beach villa with a pool which was stunning. A beautiful room and amazing outside bathroom! Our package included drinks and so we had a minibar included- we requested some different drinks and they delivered in a very short time and soft drinks refilled every day. Our villa was 163 on the sunrise side of the island which is perfect as the view is outstanding and you can go to the bar on the sunset side to have drinks and watch the sun go down. We loved the environmentally friendly features - no plastic and refillable bottles. Even the bar only had glass and cans. There are also sustainable projects running like coral planting which you can get involved with. The room had showel gel, shampoo, conditioner and soap so no need to pack these! Also a range of extra toiletries such as a razor, toothbrush and toothpaste. Each room also has Umbrellas. Handily, the plug sockets are the same as those in Britain! My top tip if you want to dry anything is to hang it over the rail outside next to the air con unit as it gets dry quickly there! Yellow towels are provided for use in your own plunge pool. The Sunbeds are really comfortable and the view to the lagoon is stunning. Loved having a private bit of beach so no worrying about getting Sunbeds! The lagoon is amazing - getting up to watch the sunrise and standing in the lagoon at low tide and watching the fish swim around you is a magical experience. There are lots of Sunbeds and seats around the pool and bar area - very comfortable and a good range of being in the shade or not. Litu got the bar ready every morning and fr day 2 knew what our first order of the day would be. He is such a lovely, friendly person offering amazing service. There is no hassle getting a sunbed every day and towels are put out ready for you. The service in the bar is outstanding. Really great cocktail menu - and Sunil was always happy to make something special for you. Shibin was also incredibly helpful and remembered what we drank in the afternoon and evening. As I said before - the staff are truly brilliant! The food in the bar is lovely - as it is in the main restaurant. That offers a different theme every evening and it's delicious! Shah who served us each day in the restaurant again remembered very quickly what we drank at breakfast and lunchtime - such great personal service. The island is simply stunning. There are loads of fish - and some sharks - that can be seen really easily in the lagoon. Daily house reef snorkeling was great. Ahmed in the dive centre was very knowledgeable and supportive. We also did the whale shark trip - unfortunately we didn't see any as the water was too rough, but we did some great snorkeling. Take some deet spray if are prone to getting bitten as lunch is on a local island but I got bitten to death! We did the sunset cruise which was absolutely great- watching dolphins playing, whilst drinking pink champagne and watching the sunset is such a fabulous experience. Susmith made us feel very welcome and was very interesting to talk to. The trips are well worth the cost. The bar had a 'club' feel on Sat night which was really fun. It also offers a book exhange, pool and bar games. The outdoor cinema was brilliant! My other tips are bring beach shoes (as the old corals are sharp) and some Antiseptic cream in case of coral scrapes. Also use the toilets by reception as the ones by the bar are really tiny! My only suggestion to the hotel would be to add some sunbeds which are semi submerged on the wide shelf in the main pool as these would be great! All in all, a truly incredible island with the best service and most amazing staff I have ever encountered. I could not recommend it more!

Welcoming and attentive staff but not intrusive, clean well provisioned accommodation. The managers of the main restaurant and bar, along with their teams, very quickly learned our names and preferences and couldn’t have done more to enhance our holiday. Beautiful island, great swimming, snorkelling and diving. I love a holiday when I hardly wear shoes! Particular praise for Ahmed and Sylvia in the Dive Centre- patient and professional, great local dive site knowledge, our best diving experience to date. Thank you all.

Room Tip: I’ve added swim shoes to my list - quite a bit of scratchy dead coral on the sea floor.

Our visit at Angsana Velaru was from 3/6/23 to 3/13/23. We stayed in a beach villa for 3 nights and in the Overwater Villa for 4 nights. We had a fantastic stay in the Maldives. The staff works really hard to meet any requests that are made. We had 2 fantastic waitresses, Yana at the Azurro restaurant and I don’t know her name but she was the only female waitress at the buffet restaurant. Both ladies were very attentive. They both always remembered we wanted extra ice at every meal. The rooms in the beach villa were a little worn but still a nice place to stay. Remember the bathroom is outside so you may see bugs and they do provide bug spray. They do not have irons in the beach villas but they do in the Overwater villas. The Overwater Villa side was much more modern than the beach side. Even the restaurant was more upscale. The beach side restaraunts were very casual, they even had sand floors. We stayed in Overwater Villa 301. That one was nice because it was on the sunset side and it was the last villa in the row. So we didn’t have any neighbors on one side of us. And there was a little sand bar right there you could walk on. The only drawback to that room is that it was close to what we think was their laundry bldg. So sometimes when you would sit outside you would get a whiff of “smog” that was very unpleasant. And you could hear signing from a nearby island, like a church worship. We had a professional photo shot to celebrate our 20 anniversary. The photographer Ali was great! I would highly recommend his services if you have the opportunity. I do wish they did something from celebrations. At other resorts we have stayed they would decorate the bed with floors for the anniversary or honeymoon. Regarding areas of improvement I would like to suggest that at least one of the restaurants be available for food at all times. Some times we were not hungry during the meal windows but would end up hungry when no food was available. (Breakfast 7-10, Lunch 12-2, Dinner 7-9) And alcohol was only served 11a to 11p. So they did not have mimosas or any breakfast cocktails available. I thought the multiple menus were a little confusing. We kept wanting to order items that were not included in the all inclusive package so that was a little frustrating. Also, it would be so much better if the ferry between the island and the villas ran every 15 or ever 30 minutes. An hour to an hour and a half is way to long if you are wanting to get back to your room. Despite these things I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit the Maldives. This was the most amazing and peaceful vacation we have ever had.

We had a great honeymoon at Angsana Velavaru resort. Staffs are very kind and make me feel comfortable. Especially Mr.Titto, I have appreciated your kindness. Also, we had a great experience snorkeling, scuba diving, and kayaking. Under the ocean was amazing I saw turtles in front of nearby our ocean villa. I wish to come again with my family.

Excellent professional staff with attention to detail especially the staff in the Kuredi Bar. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere especially from Litu, Ajmal Shiben, Suraj, Charith. All staff speak excellent English especially Litu. I would also like to praise the massage therapists in the spa especially Mew & Sindy. Such a beautiful experience to have a treatment outside within nature where you can hear birds sing etc (not like spa treatments in Ireland where you are listening to music being played on a CD/Alexa) Thanks so much to each and every staff member I came across. Bye for now I plan to be back many times so have the music ready 😁

We came here for rhe honey moon and i can definitely recommend best island for relax and switch off from the frenetic life, good crack but nothing crazy tge bar tenders Litu, Ajmal, Shiben... They let us feel like family members very good customer service they never mind if was to early or to late they are so good to remember names and room number. I was out on a snorkeling trip and we were late coming back, Litu the bar tender kept some food for me on order without asking that's what i call a good service. The villa was very nice and stunning view, the spa treatment unreal as i was expecting we got 3 treatment over 7 days top class. See you next year
