Detailed Reviews
From the first moment you set foot on the island, time doesn’t matter anymore and you’ve arrived in paradise. You get the chance to escape your day to day life and can watch all worries fly away.
With a super kind and friendly team one feels like coming home. Our housemaster Aslam made every dream come true. Whether it is the staff at the restaurant, the housekeeping, the watersports team, … everybody is greeting you with a big smile and some nice words.
We’ve shared many laughters together.
The concept of the team is not only full of little daily surprises, but also gives one a feeling of home, as the focus lies upon absolute privacy. This provides the feeling of being the only guests on the island.
It´s kind of a big family on the island, with everyone being supportive, helpful and very kind. There is almost no wish wich can not be fulfilled.
The diving counts to the best experiences we’ve had in the Maledives so far. Not only are there still some beautiful spots left, but also the very helpful and friendly boatcrew made the experience so special. The equipment is still very new and in perfect condition. With Susanna as our own diving guide, we’ve had the whole boat to ourselves for the entire day.
It was really hard for us to say goodbye at the end of our stay, so after less than 24h at the next island we decides to come back to the Nautilus .
Also the rooms differ to other resorts, as one can never see sharp edges, but everything is kept in round design. The interior and exterior of the island is designed with so much taste that you wish you could get the designer for your own house at home.
Summarising you could say that staying at the Nautilus isn’t only a vacation… its a world of your own making and way more than that.

The Nautilus is a wonderful resort with probably the best service we have ever experienced. The GM, our House Master, the restaurant staff, kids club staff etc were all awesome! They simply could not have been better.
The resort itself is small but has loads of great activities (unfortunately no tennis court though) and is set up very well. Pool table, table tennis, gym, beach, day spa, yoga, cooking classes, kids activities etc. The set up and service at the main pool was also brilliant - they would bring out a tray with water (still and sparkling), sunscreen, towels, lotions etc.
We were offered both a beach mansion or overwater. We actually preferred the overwater. Good sized room, exceptional bathroom, large pool and a really welcome feel. Only downside was the pool heating didn't seem to work and also the set up wasn't great for jumping in the ocean from the pool deck. Minor problems though.
The pricing of the food was a strange mix - on one hand there was the complimentary cocktail hour and free kids meals but on the other hand it was insulting that they were charging $160AUD for butter chicken! Breakfast (which was included) was absolutely amazing. Dinners were a bit soulless, we were literally only ones in the restaurants most times.
The diving (which unfortunately we weren't able to do due to weather) was twice as expensive as other resorts in the Baa Atol. No excuse for that when they go to the same reefs.
Overall we had an exceptional time here. Even when the weather wasn't on our side, the staff made sure we had lots to do and were always looked after. If you are seeking seclusion, amazing service and comfort than this is the place for you.

Response from Andre Miethig, General Manager at The Nautilus Maldives
Responded Nov 27, 2022
We are delighted to know that our little bohemian paradise was a most exceptional experience for you. Our houses and people are the art of truly refined island living where the elements are balanced with great passion and homely energy. We take pride in the offerings at the Nautilus and are always working on improving and bringing in additional delights to enhance the guest experience. Although we do not have a dedicated tennis court, the multipurpose court on the island is suitable for tennis sessions. The court can be set up for tennis anytime during the day and night upon request. All our houses are designed with the intend to truly reflect our comforts of home hallmark- which ensure our guests feel immediately welcome and comfortable in them. The usage of warm colors for the design elements, the round shape of the houses and the separate living room in every house is just a few highlights of what makes the Nautilus simply so different from the rest. As the pools is outdoor the pool temperature will be impacted by the environment and due to the rain and the cold breeze the pools take longer to heat during this weather. The ocean houses are designed and elevated high to accommodate any kind of tide and any sea conditions. Our lagoon is beautiful with colorful fishes and with a very easy access to the house reef. Thank you for highlighting the wonderful complimentary offerings at Nautilus. Unscripted dining is a concept we are proud to be able to offer for our guests where we are able to curate and customize meals. Menus are constantly being updated and changed to accommodate our guests to the best extend and we will certainly keep your feedback in mind. The Nautilus takes pride in the fact that our guests are able to enjoy our outlets feeling like they are at their own private island without anyone else. The unscripted and free-spirited concept of the resort allows guests to dine in their houses or at any location, they prefer. The time stands still hallmark also allows our guests to dine during any time without restrictive closing and opening hours at the outlets, which also is huge factor in why our outlets are never over crowded. We hope to see you back with us once again and explore the beautiful dive sites in Baa Atoll with the energetic AquaNautica team. Thank you for your feedback, we truly appreciate all the lovely comments you have shared. Warm Regards, André

Due to last minute cancellation of our stay at Soneva Fushi,we were offered a 6 night stay at the Nautilus Mansion,a huge 2 story 3 br beachhouse with large balcony and an extensive deck with plenty of seating and loungers and a very large freshwater pool.
Despite this was not originally booked by us,we had a wonderful time. This tiny island is a tropical paradise.Food was good and freshly made and they were happy to prepare something else at your request. The downside was ,it took always too long to get the food out.Even if we were the only ones at the restaurant and the resort was not fully booked.
The staff, the GM and especially our housemaster Nappe were so genuinely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable.
The amenities in the house were the most luxurious and extensive we have ever had. From the free softdrinks at the minibar, the early morning cakes and fresh juice before going out for breakfast, the gilette shavingkit to a deluxe manicure set and Hermès and Penhaligon bath and bodyproducts in every bathroom.
The kids enjoyed jetskiing, the seabob and the mattress pulled by the jetski.
The snorkelling was excellent, the house reef was very close to the beach so very easy to reach,I saw a turtle and a black tip shark while snorkelling ,lots of schools of coloured fish and many different species. Also the coral seems healthy because of the huge amounts of fish everywhere.
Every night at sunset, they serve complimentary cocktails and canapes and live music at Naiboli, which we found the place with the most tropical vibe and decor.
If you like an intimate 5 star luxury resort with 6 star service than the Nautilus is the place to be.

It was our first visit to the Maldives. As New Yorkers it was a long journey that we dreamed of taking . It was a special birthday celebration and picking the right resort was much more difficult then we could imagine ,with so many luxury choices . We are very traveled and try to pick properties that will give us an exceptional experience on every level of the destination.
The Nautilus exceeded our expectations on every level imaginable!!! We have never in all our travels experienced a magnificent and magical holiday as much as The Nautilus delivered . Let me share a few why's.
Most importantly the team at The Nautilus, they truly make it feel like your loyal home .
The GM , Andre is truly a hands on leader of his beautiful team ,he was always there to not just say Hi ,but find out what we enjoy and bring the experience to us , in the kindest and most sincere way , along with his very witty sense of humor . We were taken care of by Hushy , our house master during our 7 night stay in heaven . Hushy is one of the kindest , humble and intelligent person that we could ask for. Truly we felt like family and knew Hushy would be there to make sure our stay was magical. Brian had the amazing opportunity to go diving , and he was absolutely overwhelmed with every part of his diving experience, lead by truly the most amazing marine biologist diving instructor Kayla . Kayla touched us deeply . Her passion for the sea and marine life is contagious and we could not get enough. We cherished every moment of our experiences with beautiful Kayla .
Food , well all I can say is get ready for a food experience unlike no other , lead by Master Chef Michael . His culinary expertise is richly enhanced by his dedication and passion for travels around the world . Michael can turn his kitchen and the several dining options as if you were in the best kitchen of somewhere in south Asia or Italy or anywhere cuisine is an art .
The houses are extraordinary in their detail and quality, every aspect is top of the line and very well thought out , it's truly remarkable.
The most important part if The Nautilus is something that hard if not impossible to find today, the chance to create a holiday that matters most to you . If you take the time during your holiday here to get to know the team of the most AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL people , you will not only have the holiday of a lifetime, you will be forever enriched as a person ❤️. Don't wait , go and enjoy ! We look forward to our return .

Dear Dawn and Brian, it was our absolute delight to have you in our bohemian paradise. Ensuring our guests truly feel welcome and at home is what we as a team inspire to do daily. Hushy, is an exceptional gentleman who revels in any opportunity to make the experience of his guests a once in a life time. He is looking forward to welcome you back into your house where all your comforts of home are waiting for you. Brian, I ensure you that there are many more secrets of the ocean waiting for you to explore. The beautiful Baa Atoll is a gem with its great many phenomena such as the Manta Rays and the Whale Sharks. And Kayla, speaks fondly of you and looks forward to curate many more of your oceanic adventures. Our Executive Chef Michael is the very soul of the culinary journey of Nautilus. He and his team ensures tirelessly that our food lovers lack no flavors and definitely stands at the heart of the unscripted food and beverage experience of Nautilus. Our houses and people are the art of truly refined island living where the elements are balanced with great passion and homely energy. Once again, thank you and we are humbled to know the Nautilus has been well worthy of the long journey. Last but not least, it was a personal pleasure to spend quality time with such a charming and lovely couple! P.s. Don’t forget our chat - always ask yourself how many cups you need.

We loved our two weeks at Nautilus, it was the end of our six-week tour with the 4 weeks of travelling Sri Lanka behind us we had two weeks to relax here. And all the staff on Nautilus made this very possible with such ease, we had Siyam as our “house manager” who looked after everything with great attention to detail and care. We had Himi as our constant waitress who was so lovely, and took extra care to remember all our requirements at breakfast and dinner:) We could not want for more, and the Island is beautiful. Siyam arranged tennis for us which was situated in the staff area and made sure everything we needed was there each time. We so enjoyed being able to have breakfast at any time which we usually got there after Tennis or Gym around noon!
It was super having three restaurants to choose from, they are all different.
My only moan is how expensive the wine is, I had to put up with a rose wine at 80 pounds a bottle which was not that great! but if I had wanted my usual rose wine it would have been £120! which was very hard to swallow!
I loved the purple theme and this matched me as I love purple so being picked up at Male in the purple seaplane was a dream come true!
Go and discover the beauty of Nautilus x

We are delighted to know that the Nautilus was the final location of your adventure and we are pleased to learn we have succeeded in every way to ensure you had the opportunity to relax and unwind here. Our housemaster Siyam is indeed dedicated to ensure all his guests get the best of everything the Nautilus has to offer. Himi is looking forward to welcome you back and charm you with her many skills and attention to details. We have well noted the price of the wines which are mainly related to the additional tax, licenses and freight charges due to being located in the middle of the Indian ocean. However, I can assure that our sommeliers are constantly trying their best to make sure the offerings are balanced and all our guests are able to find something as per their likings. The purple Nautilus seaplane awaits to fly you back to the Nautilus hopefully very soon! Regards, André

We traveled to The Nautilus to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This vacation was so wonderful, I'm nervous to write a review because my words won't do our experience justice. We were treated beautifully. Truly. It's a rare place. Our Residence Manager, Thaany, made us feel welcome immediately and exceeded our expectations in every way. She was always very kind and managed to help us find the perfect balance between relaxation and adventure. The over water villas are tastefully designed and have the best views imaginable. The spa has lovely therapists. All of the restaurants are divine. We especially loved the teppanyaki and a 5 course dinner that included my favorite Chinese dish arranged by the Head Chef. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy a sunset in the middle of the ocean on a sand bar. We went snorkeling every day around the lagoon and house reef surrounding the island. The Head of Recreation helped us add a coral planting to the reef and took us to dive with over 30 manta rays in a nearby bay. This was even better than it sounds. We both left a bit of our hearts on the island and can't wait to visit again. Our biggest thanks to the entire staff!

We had a wonderful vacation with our son for 18 months. In September, the hotel was largely unoccupied, so it seemed like the island was only served for our sake. Absolutely every member of the team knew us and all our preferences, was attentive to the child and made sure that nothing happened to him. For example, during breakfast, I finally got the chance to finish my coffee in peace while the waiters played with their son. A great opportunity to avoid daily trips to the restaurant with a child (who knows, will understand) - breakfast and dinner can be ordered directly to the villa and at any time. That's it! The cuisine is excellent, several dishes in every restaurant have impressed us!
The hotel is charming, incredibly beautiful villas , restaurants and bar . We are returning to the Maldives for 4 times, but we have not seen such green diverse flora.
Nice home reef. Two mornings in a row she snorted with a grown shark. rays, fish and a variety of corals.
The best pillows and bed linens we've ever had, we've had enough sleep and fun just lying in bed.
CIP service on arrival. Please note that on the way back it does not apply. Although we were taken from the hydroplane to the airport check-in desk by car and helped with our suitcases. That's why he wasn't much needed. Especially if you have business class and dedicated landing
To sum up, we were 100% satisfied as we had hoped. One might be disappointed, for example, that the sand is not too fine, but around the island breakwaters. But they allow you to observe the home reef and not walk on coral debris, right? Neighbouring islands are visible, and crows and insects live on the island itself. But it only seems important when you haven't arrived on the scene yet. In fact it turns out that these are insignificant little things that completely overlap with the great merits of the hotel and its staff. Thanks to Nautilus and our Butler Risan!

The island and resort are remarkable. Service impeccable, our large one-bedroom villa on the beach had great spaces and fittings, the willingness of our lovely ‘butler’ Rafu who looked after us meant that we knew what was on offer across the island and she could implement and deliver whatever we wanted like a focused concierge. Food was pretty good and they meant it when they said to just ask for anything one wants. Being so small a resort one saw little of the other guests, but interestingly one might not really want to. Beautifully built and run with charming staff. Really expensive, but they deliver a great holiday.

We stayed at the hotel for several nights and tried both times of accommodation on the beach and on the water. Both houses were spacious with amazing decoration, spectacular views and all future that the most luxury houses should have... or even more. If you will not find something, the Buttler that is available 24/7 will find and bring to you house. The island is very green - a lot of different plants and flowers, and it is not very big, so everything is close, you can walk around and reach all restaurants, bars, SPA, water sports center, shop in maximum 4 minutes, and if you think that it is boring to stay on a small island you are absolutely wrong. There are a lot of water sports, morning yoga, tennis, gastronomic is on the highest level, teppanyaki, night fishing - local Maldivian or big game fishing, home reef is very beautiful with turtle and billion of different coral fishes, cinema under the stars, swimming with mantas (in 20 minutes from the hotel), a lot of activities for kids. In my case it was romantic holidays with my boyfriend, but now I want to come back with my son. This hotel is a shining star of Maldives - very authentic, beautiful, tasty, new and unforgettable place! Already dream to come back!

We had 2 weeks on this island resort and it is now the top of our list for tropical paradise getaways. We have stayed in the best resorts in the Maldives, Seychelles and French Polynesia and this new resort tops them all.
The staff all speak impeccable English which makes life not only efficient, but fun as they could share a joke with with us as well. We also found that the butler service (they call them House Masters) managed to be totally professional without being pompous.
We had one small problem at the end of our stay and the General Manager Ashraf went beyond our expectations in resolving it. I believe that how a company addresses problems tells you how serious they are about customer service. The fact that we experienced only one during a 2 week stay, and that it was handled so well, tells you all you need to know.
If you are looking for the best of this type of small resort the The Nautilus is it.
Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We will be back.
