Balitrees is my absolute favourite in Bali!!! If you’re looking for a calming and authentic experience with amazing staff, likeminded fellow travellers, delicious food, and a ton of yoga, this is the place for you. What a beautiful community and overall zen vibe in this small village - I’m simply obsessed! The room options are split into guesthouses onsite or homestays; all rooms have basic necessities and are clean. Homestays are a short walk or ride away from the main area and what’s awesome is that staff pick up and drop off to your room anytime needed. I stayed in the Red Roses homestay with Mr. Wayan who greeted me with the biggest smile every day, such beautiful soul. There are daily activities you can join in on, so these’s no thinking or planning involved on your part, which truly makes this a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I was here for the 6 day retreat and I could have stayed longer! Love the place, love the people, love the village. Highly recommend and I can’t wait to return soon. Suksme Balitrees!! ❤️

Our first time at a yoga retreat and completely new to such a remote location.

Yoga and Tai Chi were really enjoyable and both of us, being beginners, found it easy enough to follow along. Instructors were clear, patient and motivating. Although the heat didn't help at times.

The staff here make it for me. Cannot stress enough how welcoming, kind and attentive everyone is. Truly go above on beyond to make us feel at home. Treated as one big family.

Nice home-cooked meals and catered for my partner who is vegan.

Owner is very down to earth and enjoyed numerous conversations about local culture and what life is like here as well as how they strive to involve the local community in their authentic set up.

Be prepared to be fully immersed in the countryside as the location is totally remote. This comes with its benefits and drawbacks. Of course the place is beautiful and tranquil however the location was quite daunting for us at first but soon got settled in. Looking back I would have packed a few more items such as snacks for in between meals as the itinerary is pretty packed and there are no shops nearby.

We also had a couple late night visitors to our room in the form of 2 Tokay geckos. Harmless, however we were worried about them falling during the night and waking us up. Staff were on hand quickly to help our previously failed attempt at polite removal.

We stayed on-site and the room was a little basic compared to our expectations, in need of a lick of paint / deep clean in places however in keeping with the simplicity of the environment. Beds were quite hard however were equipped with mosquito nets, to fully cover the bed (we needed to lower these slightly to reach).

Overall a fun, peaceful and wholesome experience of which we both thoroughly enjoyed.

We had the most amazing experience here. We were looking at a few other retreats and this one just stood out to us with the great reviews alone! It is out of the busy cities and in the countryside you could say which is exactly what we wanted. Amazing views! even our taxi driver was amazed. as soon as we landed we knew we were going to wait longer than the three days.. the rooms, the walks, the food, the yoga, the instructors, the activities, the family were just Fabulous! Everything was so well organized and planned out for us. You can chose different activities we went for a walk in our bare feet around the rice fields I loved that! so much fun! Yoga on the beach - the shaman loads that i didn't expect I thought it would be just yoga and meditations. The people that came to the retreat we got on so well with, solo travelers, couples, friends, family traveling together we will keep in contact in the future for sure. there is a small shop near by if needed but we brought snacks and water but we didn't need it we were well fed and also we done the cooking one morning and the kitchen was so clean and used filter water for everything and washed every knife before moving onto a new food. Everyone that takes part in this retreat are some what related and its beautiful to see. I will be back again, Thank you to you all to making this retreat so memorable and I wish you all the best for the future. x x x

I stayed in Balitrees for 5 days and 4 nights and I could say that the place was great. They have the friendliest and accommodating staff, has a great rice field view, in a safe village and never fails you to achieve the most relaxing experience through their yoga and meditation. You’ll also get to experience different village activities according to your preference. Highly recommended to people who are looking best ways to relax, self-reflect and disconnect.

I can’t say enough about how much we appreciated our time at Balitrees. From the delicious home-cooked meals, the inspiring daily yoga practices, getting to know the village, the fellowship, and the daily learning experiences, I am so grateful to have felt a part of the Balitrees family for a few days. A beautiful experience. Suksma!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Balitrees. Yoga instructors are very experienced and passionate about they do. Yoga classes are very instructive. The cultural activities are educational and interesting. It is a good way of learning about the traditional life and culture on farming, religious beliefs, dances, shamanism, etc.
On top of all that the resort is very nice, with stunning views to a rice field, staff very kind and personable.
Food was also a highlight. Freshly made local dishes by the local ladies and men they employ in the kitchen, healthy and delicious, presented in a immaculate way.
I spent a week there and I felt I was at home.
All in all an excellent experience.

I cannot find a single negative thing about this pristine place. Everything and everyone is simply beautiful. People who work there, Dewi, Josie, Achie, Krishna and the rest of the team are making the Retreat unique! The food is local, fresh and delicious, freshly squeezed juices, fresh fruits and local desserts are amazing. Yoga and Meditation twice a day and daily activities will keep you busy but in a relaxing and soul fulfilling way! Massages are one of the best I ever had.
I was staying at a private Guesthouse conveniently located on site, which was clean and spacious.
Moreover the location of Balitrees is absolutely beautiful and serene, you will be surrounded by breathtaking rice paddies.
This place has a special place in my heart and I will definitely come back!

Great retreat away from the busy areas of Bali. Run by a very nice family, felt like part of the community here. Beautiful surroundings, twice daily yoga, delicious Balinese meals. Daily trips of your choice to waterfalls, beach yoga, rice terrace swings, etc and included massage. Also has hot water and consistent electricity, aircon. I recommend this retreat!

The resort staff were very nice, friendly and helpful however our accommodation was away from the dining and yoga activities, too far to walk so we had to rely on being driven by scooter or car which was inconvenient. Beach yoga sounded special but the reality was that it was difficult doing yoga on the uneven sand and once the sun hit us it was very hot. There were about 20 in our beach yoga class and the instructor focussed his attention on just 1 or 2 participants. The accommodation units were passable to Bali standards and food was mostly very nice but other times strange for a yoga retreat (tomato sauce/ketchup on white bread). The staff were very kind and readily agreed to change the schedule to take us to the waterfalls. We did think the 3 days/2 nights was expensive by Bali standards but we found out the resort paid a very large commission to the booking agents so maybe try and book directly and negotiate. Check where your accommodation and ask for accommodation close to the main activities.

I am so glad I chose Balitrees out of the various retreats I had researched, as it was exactly what I was looking for. Communication from the outset was really responsive and booking easy (I booked directly via Instagram). The accommodation is simple and comfortable, and the rest of the retreat grounds are designed with a great connection to the wonderful setting amongst the rice terraces and centered around the eating area. The yoga classes are in the traditional style which I loved. There is a variety of teachers so it kept things different each day and I felt like I learned a lot over the week (I especially loved Krishna's healing yoga). As a solo traveller, it was really nice to meet and get to know others from all around the world, many of whom were there solo also. The activities were all really fun and informative and I felt immersed in Balinese culture which was something I wanted to take away from the experience, rather than be in a Western style retreat that I could probably have gone to at home. The team there love their jobs and it really shows - everyone always has a smile on their face and makes you feel so, so welcome. We all felt like family by the end; I loved my stay and I definitely plan to return one day.
