Located in prime position to explore hot water beach and cathedral cove (room even came with a spade!) Sue (the host) gave us some insider tips of less touristy spots to visit too which we made use of on our second day. Sue made us feel welcome and provided a lovely breakfast hamper, including fruits from her vast garden. She...

A wonderfully peaceful property with lots to do nearby. Healthy breakfast and very clean. There is a lot of history in this area. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather! The ferry into town is minutes away.

Thanks for reviewing us. It was lovely to have you stay! I enjoyed the chats about your life. Yes, Mercury Bay has much history. From the arrival of Kupe in 925AD and then Cook in 1769, we indeed have lots of local history to savour.

We spent a wonderful few days at Sue and her husband. The garden is gorgeous, the hosts friendly and the place is ideal for longer holidays. In the morning there was a great breakfast. Thanks again for the wonderful time and greetings from Germany by Kerstin and Michael!

Hi Kerstin & Michael. It was great to show you your first Kauri tree at Oyster River. I have planted 5 more Kauris, they grow easily here. Next time, we make sure we have some 'warm' beers! Thank you for taking time to review us. All the best, Sue & Paul.

My brother and his wife (from the Netherlands) raved about this place: the environment, the owners and the friendly service. Good advise received from their Dutch travel agent. They would never have found this place otherwise.

We loved staying with Sue. Her friendly welcome, the breakfasts she prepared, the suggestions for places to visit and her guided tour along the property, we liked and enjoyed them all. After only a three night stay it ended all too soon. New Sealand is a bit too far to return for holiday each year, otherwise this B&B would be...

Hello! it was a pleasure to take you both walking and that you appreciated the trees, garden and waterfall on our property. Thank you for your email, with the name of the tree, 'Kastanje' Horse Chestnut. It was lovely that you both chose to stay with us, at Oyster River. Perhaps we will see you again. All the best!

My husband and I enjoyed 5 days at Oyster River. Our apartment was lovely and looked over the fabulous garden. We certainly enjoyed wondering around the garden and sitting by the water fall. Sue (the owner) looked after us well. She gave us lots of information and places to see and do. Every morning we had a very healthy breakfast....

We very much enjoyed staying here - splendid garden with great bird life, interesting beaches and forests to explore in the environment. Sue did everything to make us feel at home. We loved having a full kitchen and preparing our own meals for a change after 6 weeks of restaurants.

We had some beautiful days at the Oyster River B&B in Cooks Beach with the super-friendly host Sue Warren. Relaxed, helpful, interested and giving opportunities for trips in the area. The B&B is in the center for visit's to the Hot Water Beach, Cathedral's Cove, Cooks Beach and nice walking tracks.
