A brilliant trip, made phenomenal by the staff, stand outs were; Dennis the safari guide was exceptional, making so much effort to ensure we had the perfect trip. Sheeliah in the restaurant went above and beyond to make us feel special and ensure dietary requirements were considered. The camp is authentic, clean, well kept and a really nice place to relax.

We had a fabulous couple of days here. We took part in 4 game drives, expertly escorted by our guide knowledgeable, experienced and personable guide Ruben. We saw an incredibly wide range of animals and we were fully catered with blankets and a breakfast on an early morning expedition. The staff is very hospitable and special thanks to Metrina who even learnt our names. She organized a delicious bush dinner surrounded by wildlife and warmed by a spectacular bonfire. Thanks also to Ann for her expertly executed massage with a view on the hippos River. All in all ground breaking experience which we highly recommended.

What an amazing place. The tents are fabulous, comfortable beds, no insects and right on the river with hippos. The camp is enclosed so you can walk around freely. Lovely to be woken up for game drives with a cup of tea/coffee with biscuits. All the staff are truly amazing, too many to mention but…Special thanks to Daisy for welcoming us and settling us in. The pool and restaurant in a lovely setting but made even more special by Lawrence who was the most brilliant host, had us in fits of giggles. Also Joab who was incredible with all our game drives. Far exceeded my dreams. Back to Lawrence…. You really excelled and made it the most amazing special birthday ever. Thank you. Everything about Mara Intrepids will exceed your dreams. Thank you to all of the staff. We can highly recommend.

We would like to thank the staff of the Mara Intrepids Tented Camp The camp is excellently run, the accommodation was also excellent and the tour guide Samson is an absolute expert with above-average know-how. The tours to the Maasai Mara during our stay were a delight. He was able to introduce us to all aspects of the national park's animal diversity. Michael and Annette 02/27-29/24

The tent was very, very nice! Great bathroom inside tent with hot showers! The staff - outstanding! Very interested in exceeding expectations of guests. Wake up call with a room service person bringing hot beverage and cookies - such a treat in today’s world. The food was first class - I took pictures of the beautiful “hot” plates! Breakfast buffet was well done by a staff that really exceeded expectations! Highly recommend this resort/camp.

Mara Intrepids was excellent. The tent accommadations were very comfortable with all the amenities needed. All of the staff personel went out of their way to help us for an excellent “camping” experience. One of our favorite lodges during our trip to Kenya. And the wildlife were plentiful…something my wife and I will long remember.

3 months on from our Honeymoon to the Masai Mara and we’re still thinking about how quickly we can go back. I was lucky enough to visit Mara Intrepids camp back in 2009 with family, so when it came time to decide where to go on our Honeymoon, Mara Intrepids was top of the list. We debated about what time of year to visit, and decided that we wanted to avoid the peak season. As amazing as the migration is, the increasing number of vehicles year on year can take away the shine of something that should be kept as natural as possible. The end of November seemed like a great choice, and despite it being classed as the “short rains”, we enjoyed a 4-night stay of sunshine. There were a couple of rain spells, mainly overnight, which only lasted for half an hour, so it didn’t bother us at all. Obviously, the migratory antelope had left the Mara so there were spells of the game drives that were devoid of the constant waves of Wildebeest that you would get during peak season. But, again, that didn’t bother us at all as even just driving through the Mara plains was relaxing. Our driver, Ruben, ensured we saw (almost) everything. Daily sightings of lions, elephants, hyena and giraffe. A few Cheetahs, the elusive leopard, and everything in between. The only one that avoided us was the Rhino, which we know would be difficult due to the declining numbers. That just gives us another reason to go back to complete the set. We had the option of doing 3 game drives a day, which was a welcome surprise as we only thought 2 drives were on offer. There were a couple of times that Ruben suggested avoiding the mid-morning drive when the weather was at its hottest as it would be unlikely that we’d see much. The early mornings were made easier with a hot chocolate/coffee and biscuits, and all of the meals were great. There was a mixture of buffets and standard, and a good selection of food to choose from. A special thank you to Vivian, our server, who kept our bellies full and engaged in conversation at every opportunity. Kenneth and Paul kept the drinks flowing at the bar. Again, they were more than happy to chat about all things from the Mara, to football, to Kenya as a country – all very interesting. With it being outside of peak season, Intrepids was pretty empty. In fact, by the end of the trip there were only 2 tents taken, which meant that all of the staff’s attention was on us. The rooms were great and kept clean, so thank you to the housekeepers for doing such a good job. With it being our honeymoon, the staff gave us a great tent right on the river, which was amazing. Hearing the hippos pass by the tent at night was a great experience. During our final dinner we were surprised with a cake and the entire staff surrounding our table singing Jambo Bwana. That was the cherry on top of the cake, and the whole trip from start to finish was so special and something that we will never forget. Until next time, Mara Intrepids!

Very cool property - in the heart of the wilderness. The staff was so kind and friendly. We enjoyed the pool and bar, a la carte dinners, luxury tents, beautiful grounds, and, of course, majestic safaris across an incredible landscape of acacia trees with leopards and lions, rivers with lots of hippos, close-up encounters with elephants and giraffes. An airstrip is just a couple minutes from the property too, so very convenient to fly in. Would not hesitate to go back :)
