The villa is huge, clean and pretty. It offers a stunning sunrise view facing the ocean. The pool is of perfect size and we both enjoyed our stay relaxing on the pool side and the pool.

Breakfast was abundant and of good quality. We also ordered floating breakfast one day in the morning at additional costs and enjoyed the breakfast inside our private pool which was a very memorable experience. It worths the money.

Staff are very friendly and attentive, particularly the ladies in the restaurant. Overall a very pleasant stay. Shower pressure is also good. The two ladies who provided the massages to us were extremely professional in terms of techniques.

The downside is that there are only two ladies working in the spa. It makes it hard to book treatment, particularly for any 3- hour treatment or treatment for two persons. Highly recommend advanced booking if you want to go there.

Besides, the shower and toilet are halfway extended to an open area with garden, where we found lots of mosquitos and small worms inside the stones on the floor. It is a bit scary. We would highly recommend the hotel to do some preventive measures to minimize the chance that insects would go inside the villa as we saw worms on the floor of the bathroom from time to time.

We also experienced power outage on one night but the staff attended to it immediately. If possible, we would also recommend to have a bit more lights inside the villa so that it is not that dark at night. Having said that, we would still recommend this hotel and would come back if we go to Amed again.

This place offers great value for money as the villas are beautiful, well kept and come with breath taking views of the ocean. The food at the restaurant was some of the best that we’ve had during our 2 months of traveling and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity. There was a small surcharge of 50k IDR for ordering room service which is different but overall not a big deal. The rooms have a fresh water dispenser with refillable glasses which is a nice touch instead of water bottles. There’s not much to walk to in the area but it’s a great place to relax and snorkel or scuba dive! Would definitely stay again and recommend this place if you are going to be staying in Amed.

We spent the last week of our honeymoon relaxing in Amed. Griya Villas and Spa was a great place for this.

When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised that we had been upgraded to a bigger villa, which was an amazing oasis with gardens!

The room complex was very stylishly decorated, and the partly outdoor bathroom was an exotic experience. The restaurant was also a positive surprise and we ordered food almost every day also through room service. There was an emphasis on ecology, and instead of e.g. bottled water, a tank of cold water was available all the time.

You could go snorkeling directly from the nearby beach and you could rent high-quality snorkeling equipment from the hotel. On the way to the beach, you could also see local everyday life.
The spa was of good quality, but also quite expensive. The free morning yoga offered was of high quality.

The only minus was that the staff was not aware of the discounts advertised online, and they did not have the authority to give them directly, even though I looked for the information for them, but the matter had to be continued several times.

From the first email with the owner/manager to the last goodbye we were treated like royalty! We were greeted on day one by Andy Wayan and a delicious refreshing drink before being driven to our villa which was STUNNING. A towel/flower arrangement was waiting in our room congratulating us on our wedding anniversary along with a cake in the fridge. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and they were all such gorgeous lovely people. During our stay we indulged in a private dinner by our pool for our anniversary, daily breakfast, drinks on the rooftop, quite a few dinners and a pamper session at the day spa. The staff organised a driver for us and the use of a scooter during our stay. The villa was flawless - plenty of room, private pool, jacuzzi, jaw dropping views, privacy, lush gardens that were so well maintained. The indoor/outdoor ensuite is just beautiful. The complex is in a great location with views to Lombok and Agung from the rooftop bar. It’s not too far from the heart of Amed but will require a scooter or driver. There’s so much positive information I want to share about this amazing place but I think the best I can say is, book it, book it and experience it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. I’d also love to single everyone of your staff Mr Martonen for recognition however I didn’t catch all their names. Suffice to say, all of the staff we encountered during our stay from the 2nd-7th Feb 24 were absolute fantastic and should be rewarded. The lady who conducted our special dinner, the ladies at breakfast, the rooftop staff and Andy Wayan in particular. We have only been back home for two weeks but are already working on our plan to return.

The Griya is an exceptional place to stay. We had a 2 room villa and it was secluded, private, peaceful and extremely comfortable. The beds are big and comfy, the kitchen was reasonably well-equipped but we didn't use it for cooking. The pool and the view are outstanding. We appreciated the filtered water in the kitchen, the pool towels, the outdoor shower, the attentive friendly service. The breakfast choices are good and the food is excellent. We also ate in the restaurant twice and the food and service was wonderful. It's easy walking distance to other cafes and bars and also you can walk to the closest beach, Lipah, where there is good snorkelling. In my opinion the photos of this place do not do it justice.

We booked a one bedroom deluxe villa to celebrate my birthday. The villa had spectacular views of the bay and surrounding hills. On arriving to the room there was a birthday cake made of towels surrounded by rose petals on the bed. Such lovely presentation. There was also a small bouquet of flowers and a chocolate cake. We were very impressed with the effort that was made for my birthday.
The villa was split into two with a separate building for the bedroom and a separate building for the lounge. Both were very well furnished and presented but could do with some small upgrades. For instance there was no USB sockets in any of the rooms. Some of the window blinds could do with maintenance. We also pointed out some broken tiles on the steps into the pool. One large one in particular was completely dislodged and could be a trip hazard.
We had room service the first night and it came promptly and was well presented and very tasty.
The breakfast menu had both Asian and European options and again was very good. Excellent presentation and I liked the fact that my breakfast tea was served in a pot and was fairly strong. A rare treat in Bali. A couple of points for feedback. We would have liked to see some bread and pastries offered and also my orange juice came out of a bottle. I saw the chef with the bottle.
All the staff we had interaction with were very pleasant, welcoming and professional. Most also had a very good grasp of English.
My wife used the spa for both the complimentary treatment and a 90 minute massage. The massage was ok but lacked the finesse and skill expected of a higher level spa.
Overall we had a very pleasant and highly enjoyable stay. We would recommend it and would stay there again.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa (villa 12) at the Griya in July 24 and throughly enjoyed our stay. I thought that the hotel was perfectly located in Amed and walking distance to numerous great restaurants and most importantly to the dive School (White Sands) that we used during our stay. (We chose the Griya rather than the other higher end hotel in Amed due to it's location without any regret).

The villa was gorgeous - it felt very private and loved the layout with all the windows facing the sea. The sunrise was stunning every morning as we watched from our bed. The pool was a good temperature for cooling off but not freezing.

The breakfast options were varied and tasty. The rooftop was a nice area for drinks to watch the sunset.

We were offered a free pick up and drop off service to the airport. The transport and driver provided were excellent and on time.

If I were to be picky I would say that there are aspects that need updating, ie newer towels, bedding and furniture needs reupholstering in places but this did not detract from our stay. Also the service is good but not outstanding (having just come from the Udaya in Ubud we were spoilt with outstanding service). You need to be somewhat fit to walk up to the hotel and to your villa. Although there is service which can take you to your villa by golf buggy, there wasn't always enough staff around to accomodate this.

Overall, would definitely recommend the Griya as the villas are gorgeous and the views and peaceful location was just magic.

Nice resort with amazing views. Booked the one bedroom villa, and they prepared a surprise cake and petals decoration for a birthday celebration. The private pool was clean, and the room was good with all general amenities you can find.

The toilet was nice too, providing a rustic feel with the outdoor shower with a modern touch of the bathtub. The only downside is that since this is an outdoor bathroom, beware of harmless bugs and insects. They do provide mosquito repellent in rooms though.

Breakfast was amazing, and it starts from 7am to 1130am. It's not a buffet breakfast, but the selections were good enough (often find ourselves too full from breakfast). They also have free yoga sessions on Monday and Wednesdays which is suitable for beginners.

The staff were friendly and helped us with whatever requests we have. Overall a very good experience (though the bugs can get annoying at times).

We stayed here 4 nights with our 3 daughters. We stayed in a 2 bedroom Villa.

We really enjoyed ourselves here.
It was very nice to stay in a private Villa. Blissful to splash straight into your own pool when you wake up in the morning. And with what a view! Breakfast is a la carte. You can order 2 items each from the card. And then also 2 drinks. They are very generous portions. And it was really good, too. We also had our breakfast served twice in our Villa. That was so relaxing.
We also had dinner twice in the evening at the hotel. Very nice kitchen! And very friendly people
Amed is also really worth snorkeling. You have a beach within walking distance where you can rent beach chairs.

The resort and our stay was nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The day of our arrival I was out of cash because the atms in Amed don’t seem to accept foreign cards. The front desk loaned me his own money so I could pay our driver. The hotel then arranged for a driver to take us to the neighboring town (which is an hour away) to get money out of atm.

The driver arranged overcharged us by a lot because I paid less for my driver to take us from Ubud to Amed with stops on the way then I did to take a driver to the neighboring town just to use the atm.

This seems to be the case for all of Amed as it is not very touristy so they basically charge u whatever they want and u have to agree because there are no alternatives. I found Amed to not be very tourist friendly as compared to other places in Bali and would honestly give it a skip

The resort itself is very nice. One of the things the hotel should improve is their shuttle service. They offer a free shuttle into Amed at certain times of the day but the pick up and drop off are like 4 hours apart. Idk who has 4 hour long dinners, and if u want to come back earlier then u have to arrange with driver and pay them extra.

So although the hotel and stay was nice certain things need to be improved

The Griya is about 19 km away from Mt. Agung, and divided with another high hill, so The Griya is definitely in the safe zone from Lava, gas etc. and perfectly safe area to come. Our area is in fact declared to be one of the safe zone areas in Karangasem.
