We booked 2 tours with Storekornes Ferie & Fritid while visiting Alta onboard the Sapphire Princess cruise ship which was in Alta for 2 days. Ellen was wonderful to work with setting up our tours. On the first day Albert picked the 15 of us up from the tender dock and we enjoyed the very scenic ride out to Storekornes. We got to visit their crab aquarium and learn about the fish camp with Albert explaining how their operation works. Afterwards we retreated up the hill to their panoramic grillhouse for a wonderful king crab dinner and fellowship while we waited on the northern lights. Ellen and Albert were wonderful host and although the lights didn’t appear but very briefly on the first night we had the best time chatting with them and learning about life as Sami fishermen. Ellen has done a great job decorating the place. They also have cottages they rent out and we would not hesitate to stay there when we return. On our second day in Alta, we were picked up again at the tender docks by the airport in Alta just before sunset and taken back to their camp. That night will be a night to remember for a long time! Even before we got there the aurora decided to appear and just got better for hours. It was a spectacular show! Ellen had prepared a wonderful soup for us tonight and it was great having a place to warm up as we took photos of the lights. Even while driving back to the port we stopped for a grand finally of lights that just kept on coming. I am so glad we chose this company for our tours. We had a base camp with restrooms and a warm place to go inside, campfires with benches outside, and wonderful views. They were willing to do a chase if the aurora weren’t out at their coastal location and kept in contact with other “light chasers” the first night to see if anyone was finding clear skies and aurora. I was disappointed the first night that it was cloudy but in the end thankful that it was because that gave us time to get to know these wonderful people! Highly recommend and hope to be there again one day.

My wife and I were taken on a sightseeing tour of Alta Fjord. Everyone here treated us fantastic. Plus, we had a home made meal upon returning from the boat ride. Would highly recommend this experience, as its an excellent chance to learn about the culture and get an up close look of the fjord.

Ellen & Albert are amazing hosts and we had a wonderful evening. Snowmobiling up into the mountains to enjoy stunning views by the light of the Super Snow Moon. Then to a cosy teepee with woodburning fire (though Ellen had given us snow suits, and we weren't really cold - it was more to enjoy the cosy vibes). The Northern Lights presented themselves and we had some great photo opportunities. Then we descended the mountains and wrapped up our experience with delicious fish soup prepared by Ellen. We would love to spend more time at Storekorsnes, and look forward to visiting again in the future.

I've visited Storekorsnes Ferie & Fritid on 23rd Oct 2018, with a group of students. First impression on hosts, Albert and Ellen- very humble, warm & welcoming people, with great customer service! They will really go above and beyond for their guests. Village is small and quiet, surrounded by magnificent nature and scenery. We saw small whales - nise, King crabs, ruins from the World War 2, and had Ellen's fish soup that tasted like heaven. This is the perfect place to relax, enjoy the silence and nature, and see the Northern lights. Plus, you can catch and eat King crabs, go for fishing, go on a boat and experience fjord and near national park. Highly recommended :)

We were picked up at the hotel in Alta and already the journey to their place along the coast was very nice (45 min.), we even saw an eagle. After a short introduction Albert guided us with our own snowmobile up the hills towards nice viewpoints on the plateau with amazing views over the the fjords. It was great fun to drive the snowmobiles on our own - the speed can be amazing! Afterwards Ellen made a lovely norwegian fish dish we enjoyed together in their panoramic hut. We chose the day tour, but it must also be great in the evening for hunting northern lights. They also have different possibilites (tent, cabins) and activities to explore every season; fishing must be great as well.

We stayed here for 5 nights, the house and restaurant are wonderful. Ellen and Albert are very helpful and so nice. We really enjoyed our stay, surrounded by beautiful nature and northern lights. We also did a boat safari, just for taking photos, which was really great. I highly recommend this place.

Its great to see that Ellen and Albert are always there for their guests. In the winter there are so many things to see and do, the Northern Light is one of these things. They have their own bus for a transfer from Alta Airport. Houses are new and great decorated in Maritime style. We love this place near the harbor and a great view over the fjords and mountains.

We spent two weeks in winters time in Storekorsnes...... it was an amazing time, great fishing, fancy snowmobiles, perfect nordic lights, etc. Ellen and Albert made our life perfect here.....living in winter is entirely different than in summer... even in winter, we saw many halibuts around us in the water
