Argile Resort is celebrated for its elegant and luxurious atmosphere, with many guests lauding the spacious, clean rooms equipped with modern comforts. The resort's amenities, including beautiful pools and varied dining options, are highly praised, though the beach and drinks receive some criticism. While the staff's warmth and attentiveness are often highlighted, service can occasionally falter, particularly in the spa. Despite mixed views on the resort's overall value and additional fees, the commendable housekeeping and prime location with scenic sea views and beach access make it a popular choice for a relaxing retreat.

On arrival at the hotel the check in experience was disappointing. We were not provided with any information on how the hotel operated e.g towel’s operation of safe restaurants etc. There was also no information in the room. The room was good. Had air con and a fan. No instructions on how to operate the safe which we had to ask for at reception. Found out towels can be rented at 5 euros each which is refundable when checking out. All hotel areas very clean. Great swimming pool. Restaurant and bar staff excellent. Quality of all inclusive drinks very poor except for the beer. Sun beds good but shade not fit for purpose. Couple of restaurants nearby. Beach also close. Breakfast buffet good. Lunch and evening buffet not so good except for the salad. No fresh carved meat. All canteen style food. No other restaurants to change things up. Had the initial check in been better and more communication and information been available would have rated 4 stars.

I think some of the negative review of The Argile are a little harsh. We did have an unfortunate experience when we arrived in the middle of the night as there were no rooms. Apparently there had been flooding of rooms during a recent storm, so we were taken to a nearby hotel for one night. Popi the Manager was most apologetic and we were relieved to be back at The Argile the following morning as it is far superior to the one we had the first night in.

The Resort was clean and the rooms comfortable and well furnished. Yes, no information about phone or safe but a little common sense helped. Our safe was locked so I called reception and very soon someone came to open it and explain its operation. It is definitely not a Spa, but there are spa treatments available upon request as stated in their information.

The food was delicious and varied and staff always on hand to help if needed. As we have no small children we did not worry about that aspect. The main pool was clean and lots of sun beds. Yes the shades over the sun beds had seen better days but as it was almost the end of the season, one would hope they will be repaired for next season. As the season was easing off, no problem getting a sun bed, if not round the pool, plenty more to be had elsewhere.

Xi beach was disappointing but apparently there was a storm about 18 months ago and the sea levels have never receded to previous levels. This is something which is beyond anyone's control and maybe the local authorities need to revise how they advertise it, not just The Argile! The Hotel is a little more remote than we expected but there were local restaurants/bars along Xi beach. The bus into Lixuori was on time and very reasonable but probably very crowded in high season.

Local drinks were acceptable, as we expected being all inclusive and again, clearly states when extra costs will be incurred.

We found the majority of other guests polite whatever their nationality.

This is a four star all inclusive resort and we were very happy with our stay.

Initially was hesitant after booking hotel due to seeing the negative reviews and first time doing all inclusive however was very happy with our booking once arrived. Hotel beautiful, clean, spacious and rooms spotless with bed made and clean towels daily. Mini fridge in room, fan and air-con available which was easy to operate without need for instructions. Self service Food was excellent with plenty of choices of hot/cold, and freshly made daily to suit all diets, fish/meats, salads, fruit, vegetarian/vegan and gluten free. Hot/cold drinks available to help yourself and both inside/outside bars for alcoholic drinks mainly beer/spirits, wine available on tap - no issues with taste of standard house wine, its drinkable! Beach close by is a little disappointing due to erosion however 2 small shops and a number of bars nearby. Theres a Bus stop outside to go to the local town lixouri €2 each way which can then access ferry service across to main town of argostoli €3 each way, most of the shops are aimed for tourists. Loved the pool, plenty of sun-beds, canopies around pool have seen better days but wasn't an issue and plenty of additional beds around. There's a children's waterpark and small pool available onsite. There is no spa however can have a massage by beach front in a tent. Theres a tennis court and outdoor mini gym under cover available. Was a shame weather was intermittent (due to change in jet stream) but it was still warm and came home relaxed and tanned! Good 1.15hrs from airport, along twisty windy roads!! Shame location didn't have more things to see locally but ideal if want a total relaxing break. Enjoyed the break, saved a fortune being all inclusive.

I’d like to start off by saying we did have a wonderful stay here and would happily come back, there are just a few reasons I think they missed out on a 5* review! Also, we are very early in the season.

PROS
• Kind and friendly staff
• Very clean, great room cleaning service
• Nice surrounding area, very accessible to activities if you have a car, and there’s a hire place opposite!
• Rooms are stunning, I think newly renovated
• The cats are cute!
• Everywhere is very clean

CONS
• There is an issue with people reserving sun loungers, even when heading to the pool at 9am all were “reserved” with towels, some of which, people were on for no more than 10 minutes in the whole day. In other resorts I’ve stayed in staff enforced the no reserve rule which made it fair to all clients. I make a specific point of this as being here at the start of the season means this issue will only get worse as it gets busier.
• Food wasn’t labelled clearly so I wasn’t always sure what thing were. As a vegetarian I did find this an issue, a staff also didn’t seem to know when I asked. Also, the “vegan corner” that is stated on the leaflet, doesn’t seem to exist. If vegan, salad/chips would be your only clear option.
• All inclusive drinks are ok, but the couple we came with didn’t drink much as they found the spirits that were served pretty vile. The drinks were also pretty inconsistent in measures and the cocktails were different each time
• The beach close to the hotel is very small, this didn’t bother us but if you were coming for the beach, you’d find this an issue. Friends said that if you came with children for a beach day, you’d be disappointed
• No entertainment at all, despite it being written on the leaflet

Our stay at this beach resort in Kefalonia was nothing short of magical. The location is simply unbeatable, with sweeping views of the Ionian Sea and direct access to a pristine beach. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction, from arranging personalized excursions to recommending the best local attractions. The accommodations were luxurious, with modern amenities and a cozy ambiance. We especially enjoyed dining al fresco while watching the sunset over the horizon. Highly recommended for a romantic retreat or family vacation.

Our experience upon arrival to the Hotel Argile was dreadful. I checked in at reception mid afternoon, the lady I learned was the deputy manager (Esme/Esmeena). On entering the room we were allocated we were confronted by a young couple on the bed. Shocked, we returned to reception, which was extremely busy, and spoke to a member of staff in the foyer as was unable to reach the reception desk. I told her the room we were allocated was occupied. She in turn went behind the desk and spoke to the the deputy manager who did not approach me nor ask what had happened.
She was dismissive, handing me a key to another room.
The key card to the second room did not work, I went back to reception and was given an actual key to the lock. After much difficulty we managed to open the door, we had to use the key for the rest of our stay however it would repeatedly fail to work and the cleaner would open the door for us. The card we were given for the electricity slot did not work, I went back to reception and was told we had been given the wrong card. We then realised that patio door to the balcony did not lock. I went back to reception and and told the man now on reception that we wanted a different room. He said he had just come on shift and didn't know anything about our issues and would need to speak to his supervisor. He said the door is not accessible from the outside even when unlocked from the inside. We checked this and the door was full accessible from the outside. I returned to reception rapidly losing patience again stating we wanted a different room. I was then told there were no rooms as they were fully booked. He told me he would send a maintenance man across. The maintenance man arrived about 4.50pm, he replaced the lock system on the patio door and came back some time later to oil the runners to ensure the patio door was sliding freely.
The whole experience tainted our holiday. Very sad as the quality and variety of food in the restaurant excellent. The cleaning, maintenance and shop staff, along with bar and restaurant staff exceptional. The issue, management, who despite our travel company contacting them failed to acknowledge or respond.

No welcome or information given at Reception. The hotel and the room was very clean and good housekeeping. No spa in the hotel. If you wanted a massage you booked it at Reception and had your massage in a tent near the beach. Had to pay a hotel registration fee, had to leave a deposit for towels and had to pay 10 Euros for a sunbed on the beach. Food was very bland and repetitive with NO allergy labelling. They put the same gluten free bread out every day until it was green!

Absolutely enchanting! Our stay at this beach resort in Kefalonia was a dream come true. The location is superb, with direct access to a secluded beach and stunning views of the surrounding coastline. The resort itself is a haven of luxury and comfort, with beautifully landscaped grounds and elegant accommodations. We were particularly impressed by the attention to detail and personalized service provided by the staff. Whether lounging by the pool or exploring the nearby attractions, every moment was truly memorable. Highly recommended for a blissful retreat in paradise.

Firstly I would like to say thank you to all amazing stuff that made our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. They are smiling and ready to help everytime, helping us with every issue and tolerating our toddlers :)
The rooms are very nice always very clean, the food is very good, you have always so much to choose from (my favorite is Gazpacho soup and cinnamon Baklava :)
It's very calm and relaxing place despite of many families and kids around, I think that this place make kids happy and satisfied with everything that this hotel offers.
The sea is just perfect for us and kids, small wawes with sandy beaches, I recommend to go through the sea a bit more far to the left, the beaches there are wider and there are less people.
Very lovely stay, thank you so much I definitely will come back here :)
Specialy I wand to mention Julie the lovely lady who works on the pool bar, she does amazing job in here, with her smile we are happy to come and order anytime ❤️😍
Thank you ☺️

Firstly the good points, the rooms are quiet, clean and spacious. The food for all inclusive is plentiful and of good quality. The staff are mainly helpful and attentive.
Then the bad, like many hotels they have in theory told guests they cannot reserve Sun beds. There are not enough of these by the pool and none elsewhere that can be made to be in the shade. Many people reserve them early in the morning and then do not use them for most of the day. I asked about this and there was a very slow resolution on day 1 when the staff removed towel but not until I a single woman had been shouted at in a language I do not speak by a fellow customer for his twel being moved. On day 3 the staff had removed items from reserved beds and there were beds free, by day 3 the rule was no longer being enforced by staff. The do not appear to want to do this and this will leave you with nowhere to sit until you complain to staff. All in all quite unpleasant to deal with something they should be doing regularly or not have the rule.
And….. would it really be so difficult to have some real drinks in the all inclusive… cola light was gri, orange terrible.
